I really want to see Jim on another season. I feel like he knows how to play the game but he just got screwed by Cochran flipping sides.
I don't see how someone can say Sophie deserved to win. The way I see it she did nothing the entire game but ride Coach's coattails. So basically she's equivalent to Rick. The only difference is she was aware of everything going on in the game and knew how big a threat Coach was, but she never did anything about it. She'd be snappy and bratty toward people but didn't really have anything to back it up with. I thought she had potential at the beginning, but she really disappointed me.
OH COME ON THAT PREVIEW LOOKS AWFUL. Although I guess there's no RI...
To you she did. To me, no. She was hands down far from the best player. Not as far as Albert, but still far.
I have no idea who that is or what that means.
I have no idea who that is or what that means.
Exactly.
I rank Sophie far above Rick and Albert because she did at least win a couple of immunity challenges.
She's definitely a better competitor than Rick or Albert, but it's just really frustrating to me to see someone so full of themselves for no reason. She had terrible gameplay, but a slick tongue.

Definitely exactly what I think. Anyone was above Albert, even Rick in my eyes. They did nothing at all.
She was the winner of Survivor Guatemala...
Sophie played a good game. It isn't like she sat on an island and did nothing like a few of the past winners.
Sophie played a good game. It isn't like she sat on an island and did nothing like a few of the past winners.
She still did nothing strategic. If she did they would have shown it a little, yet she claims she was behind everything. This game is based on strategy most of all. The only past winner that comes to mind is Natalie from Samoa who literally did nothing but kill a rat and win immunity that one time.
Sophia winning was a horrible end to the season. It would of been one of the best if Ozzie won out and won the million. It was Ozzie's and Coach's game to win at the end, Ozzie was by far the best player challenge wise just messed up at the very end, and after Ozzie went Coach should of won but didn't because people were butt hurt that he lied or whatever he played a good game. And I feel bad for Brandon even though I didnt like him during the game, but come on dude's family doesn't back him what a bunch of ******** I guess his whole family is like Russell no wonder the kid was so screwed up during the game he doesnt seem to come from a really good family.
I think the hardest thing with this season was that there were so many big characters that were focused on and the winner just wasn't that out there. We had Ozzy, Coach, Cochran, and Brandon. It didn't help that these individuals were in the game for a significant amount of time so they took up a lot of camera time and I think that hurt Sophie's airtime and winner edit. Though I'm not saying she made huge moves, but she could have had more of a presence if those big characters weren't present for most of the game.
Well, if you've gotta pick someone to be proud of come season finale time...
Sophie taking out Ozzy in the final immunity challenge made her the most-easy-to-rationalize choice among the final three in the mind of the jury. She took out the giant when it counted most. The idea that any one person is more deserving than any other is a bit laughable to me in just about any context. If someone wasn't on the "ballot," (e.g., Ozzy) it means nothing -- except for the fan vote. I wonder what percentage of fans would still vote for Ozzy if they knew of his "**** star" past?
I think Coach lost it at the final tribal. Instead of owning up to how he played, he apologized to them. For however bitter this jury was, I think they vote for who they THOUGHT played the best game. To me, Sophie will always be remembered as one of the most forgettable winners.

For me the winner of a season in which past players return (All-star season excluded) cannot be compared to other seasons anyway. It's definitely a different show with that aspect, and it's annoying me, as well as RI, but anyway. Another proof that they need to cast more players like Edna, Cochran or Dawn, in that they at least are not only bitter and biased when it comes to voting. If you cannot look past the fact that a person you barely know lies to you to win a million $, you are participating in the wrong show.
Wow, looking how the final two hours went down I am glad I decided to watch other programming. This season was horrible from start to finish with a forgettable winner (I didn't even know who she was until the last couple weeks) and an overplayed, contrived redemption island twist that doesn't work. The three person final tribal once again proved fruitless and a bitter jury again voted based on their level of butthurt rather than mastery of the game. Minus a somewhat entertaining spring season, Survivor has had a string of misses dating back a few years and is starting to slip off my radar as a show I look forward to each year, particularly because of horrible casting. It's one thing to watch a season and be disappointing with the outcome. It is another when every outcome is disappointing being you can't stomach pulling for anyone...

They don't seem to have found a vaccination yet for the disease.
Any suggestions for Mark Burnett as to how the producers can work some magic at Ponderosa to counteract the "bitter juror" syndrome? They don't seem to have found a vaccination yet for the disease.
I've said it before, but the only thing I can think of is isolate the jury from each other. I've thought this since Samoa where Laura had a huge influence on everyone's votes. Some of them in the ponderosa videos had talked about voting for Mick to win. But they decided to band together and vote against Russell by piling all votes on Natalie. She probably would have still won, but votes were influenced in that jury house.

They don't seem to have found a vaccination yet for the disease.
My thought has always been that there should be specific jury instructions given by Jeff before voting (I made this argument a couple seasons ago to little peer fanfare.) Instead of Jeff saying, "Tonight you will vote for who you want to win the $1,000,000" he should instead say something to the effect of, " Tonight, you will vote specifically for the person who lived up to the Survivor creed of Outwit, Outlast, Outplay. On your ballot you must decide who, in the past 39 days, has earned the title of Survivor through a mastery of the game." (I am sure someone could come up with something a bit more eloquent that could sell the message I'd like conveyed.) I am also with SurferZ in that the jury should be individually sequestered in hotel rooms rather than at Ponderosa being what happens there is theoretically out of cannon yet it clearly effects the outcome of the show. This is part of the reason people have been so angry about the winners of the past few seasons being crucial decisions have been made outside the edit and outside the tribal confines - which affected the end result. So here is my list of quick fixes:
1. Hire a new casting director. 2. Get rid of the Redemption Island gimmick and any other gimmick that dilutes the game. 3. Have only two players in the final tribal council. 4. Individually sequester the jury. 5. Have Jeff offer specific jury instructions that guide the jury to vote for the player who has best embodied the Survivor creed.
They were blinded by religion. I would like to add one and that would be going back to just 7 jury members. When there were seven we got to see more of the jury questioning and the answers that the finalists gave. Also without Redemption we got to see the "memory walk" and I really enjoy that every season. And Surferz, having the jurors sequestered is smart. I like the idea. I also really agree with the creed that Jeff should say, but here'e what he should say, "Players of the jury. Please vote for the person that you think opened the biggest can of whoop *** this season and had the biggest impact on the game."
I think Sophie played a great game and deserved it. Coach made the stupid decision to vote out Rick. I think Sophie embodied a great winner. She was smart. She didn't play with her heart or "GOD" she played the best game for her.

If she played the strategic game she claims that she played (her and Albert the brains behind all of Coach's schemes), they probably would have showed us in the episodes. I will forever keep arguing that she shouldn't have won...
