Not a fan of 3-D and knowing that they basically tossed Chord Overstreet to the sharks at the end of the tour make me not want to see it so much (plus I have seen plenty of the performances on youtube so I don't feel like I am missing much). Maybe I will wait and get it on DVD. Artie's Safety Dance number is the only one I have seen so far that would make me want to see that one performance on the big screen though.
What did everyone think of the premiere? I feel like it's going to be much better than season two already (and it's only one episode in).
I felt the same way about the premiere. I wasn't really a fan of Season 2. It definitely had it's moments, but I like this season better already as well.
Finally Harry Shum got his own episode and also was able to song during the episode. With that being the case the episode brought great character development to Mike Chang and I'm hopeful for his part in the musical.
Glee has only gotten better. Tonight's episode was quite fantastic and I was shocked with the outcome. Mercedes wanting to join Shelby's club? I'm not really a fan of that because she is good, but I just think Rachel is better for what Glee club offers. She'll never beat her, so I guess that's her best option.
Pissed we have to wait until November for new episodes though. Why must they always do this to us?

I personally thought Mercedes' performance was more soulful. Of course Rachel was good too and Mercedes was a little bratty at times, but she did have a point.... they'd never hurt Rachel. And Rachel was incredibly selfish in this episode.
I think it's kinda interesting how Glee is losing some of their great singers to the other Glee club. And Why is Mercedes stomach hurting, is she sick or preggers?
I thought this episode was really deep IMO. The songs didn't just pop out of nowhere, the fit. Already it is better than the whole season 2.

I know Rachel was incredibly selfish, but West Side Story isn't for the soulful. That's what I think at least. Rachel is way more musical fitting than Mercedes, that's the only reason why I think she did better.
The episode was really deep and I personally really loved it and I can't wait.
Last night's episode was the best so far. I love any episode that is Britney or Mike heavy. They are my absolute favorites. Britney is so funny. I love how it seems like she might trip over her own feet and die at any second, then she starts to dance and tears the roof off the school. Also, I love the way Mile is so sweet and gentle and then he SLAYS the crowd with his moves.
Cudos, Glee! The only thing that would have made it better would have been more Sue or Britney one liners.

Well I don't know musicals all that well, but I would guess there are probably some musicals that Mercedes would be better fit for (not familiar with West Side Story). I generally thought both had bad points, I did prefer Mercedes' performance 'cuz I really felt it, but she did act like a brat, she also had a point with they not wanting to hurt Rachel's feelings I think but I did not like the huge "I've outgrown y'all, I'm better" speech. Rachel has a great voice also and it is suited for musicals but her selfish attitude- bleh.
I think they both have great voices better suited for certain songs. IMO- none is truly better than the other. Plus, it was hard for me to "root" for someone when both attitudes sucked. :/
Sad

I didn't really enjoy tonight's episode. It was really lacking in the music quality and Damien was only okay (such a strange storyline). The entire thing with the competing Glee clubs is something that I feel will only bring them together in the end because you can't compete in Sectionals unless you have 12 members. I don't think either of them will.

Yeah, it seems pretty obvious to me that they're going to realize this (again) and Shelby and Will will join them together to give them a better shot.

Damian's Wayne Newton hair is horrible. I am not sure about doing a teacher-student romance on a poppy show appealing to kids. After missing for the World series, we get this, 1 episode and then another break until after Thanksgiving and then maybe 2 episodes until after New Years so they should have brought it on instead of backing off.
So what is the point of these Glee Project winners anyway? All I saw out of Damien in this last episode was him getting hot and bothered when the ladies were singing "I Kissed a Girl" and I'd be kind of pissed if I were him and this were part of my seven-episode "arc". It seems like he is nothing more than an extra body so that New Directions can qualify for competition with 12 people and I'm not a fan of that. I thought they'd write a little bit more for him.

Where's is the other Glee Project winner? I'm more excited to see him, but if they give him a similar "arc" then what really is the point? Damien needs more tv time, although I really hated the Pot of Gold episode.

I'm guessing he won't show up until the second half of the season. I'm also interested to see what his storyline will be.

The guy with the long hair? I've read a few articles that said he wouldn't be on the show until 2012 when the show comes back from its winter hiatus.
Also, isn't he supposed to be the one that becomes Sue Sylvester's enemy? I remember reading that a few times as well.
As far as Damian McGinty goes, it seems like he has one big episode (Pot O'Gold), then one that he's barely in (The First Time), then he's featured again (Mash Off), and then he's barely in it (I Kissed a Girl). Pattern?
Yeah I have read that guy hasn't filmed yet and they have already finished Christmas. I have also read that Damian has basically filmed all his episodes. He is hoping they keep him on beyond that but no final decision has been made. With Chord Overstreet coming back, I'd say his odds are less than they were unless McGinty works cheap. They have really done nothing with Rory as a character.
Point 1
Honestly I was expecting more from the Glee Project acting and if the producers feel the same way, then that could explain why they're forcing them as background, which brings me back to why Cameron is the only one who I felt would add to this show at all.
Point 2
I will be so happy if Sam wins back Mercedes now that she has all this confidence, I just love her.
Point 3
I would really rather have Blaine single, I never liked him and Kurt it's just kinda awkward. Their relationship is much like Puck and Lauren.
Point 4
Vocally for me, Rachel and Finn are the worst duo I would put as the leaders. There are so many better blended voices in the group than the two of them.
Rant over.
I think that Blaine and Kurt as a couple is unrealistic. I have always thought Rachel was the third best voice on the show behind Mercedes and Sunshine. I'm a little disappointed with how they are doing the GP people too but I think they overloaded the show with characters and now Sam is back so the writers more or less seem to have never seen Ryan Murphy's vision for them and Ryan seems to be focused on things other than Glee.
I just hope they graduate Finn, Rachel, Santana, Brittany, Mike and Kurt when the season ends and not add but two new characters. I only put Santana cause Naya said she is graduating.

Co-sign, especially point 2.
I've been in the process of re-watching Season 2 on Netflix and I must say, I really didn't give it enough credit the first time around. At the time it seemed like it had it's ridiculously stupid plot lines, but after seeing it again, I think it's quite good.
I take back all the stupid things I said about the season.

Since it always shares its season with the World Series, I assume they intentionally make the fall part of the season a throw away eccentric thing and bring on the good stuff in January. Either way, I didn't like a great many of the musical choices in Season 2, but the plot lines were ok. That they went a little too out there with Sue at one point (but reigned her in by the end of the season) would be the only storyline issue I recall.

Once again I am correct. Just saying.
Am I the only one that dislikes Sam and Mercedes together? Because I feel like I am.
I thought they'd make them a really eccentric comedic couple but they didn't so they are instead just very unrealistic. I agree with you.
