No...
I am going to let fate decide while I pretend that hockey is my favorite sport.
Honestly, this might be best.
Just when I thought God hated the cubs more than any team in the majors, that happens.
I mean...that was just brutal. Bacchus I am sending you a bottle of jack
My two cents of the night...Can the Phillies just ever lose? :(
I am baffled by how many games they win. Yeah they have a dominant 3 man rotation with Halladay, Lee, and Hamels, but I don't think their lineup is anything special. Utley is no where near what he used to be, same goes for Rollins.

I could do with a barrel, but in the end we couldn't win against better teams at this point so I guess this was the easy way out. I'd rather suffer this than deal with having to watch 3 or 4 more games of ineptitude. This was not the July All Star Game Sox. This was a shadow of that team and thus the Rays are the better team to carry the wild card mantle at this point.
It will be interesting to see who hires Francona and Papelbon in the off season...

Do you think they are both gone for sure?

I'm clinging to the Stanley Cup win right now and looking at pictures of the B's hoisting the Cup.
So far it's helping....a bit.

Go to Boston.com right now. See what the fans think.
There is blood lust in the air. Those are the only two that are easy to remove and heads have to roll. Everyone else is under contract.
Ortiz will get a two year deal (he earned it.) Drew will retire or go elsewhere. DiceK will be tossed (Red Sox will eat the rest.)
Not much movement beyond that (but lots of money off the roster.)
Francona got a dream team of players. He had to make the playoffs. He is gone.
As for Papelbon, he had a good season but he has proven in the last few seasons that he is not the go to guy when one game means everything. He's a talent, but needs new life on another team.
Hate to say it but I kinda figured this was going to happen a while back when I saw "Youk out with injury, JD Drew back in lineup". Commentator was right... Rays are the luckiest team in baseball (or are the Cards?). Not good for the Yankees... right now the Sox were the only team they could beat in a 5 game series. They needed to get it done and they didn't.
I have fire in my blood too but not for Francona or Pap (he was overall pretty great this year). I want Lackey's head to roll for robbery of the highest magnitude. They should eat his contract and toss him on his fat ***.

The Yankees practically handed the Rays that win on a silver platter. They took out all of their starters and put the second string in. I wouldn't be surprised if it all was strategic.

Hopefully a strategy they regret.
I'm all in on anyone but the Yankees. I even have the tee shirt. Honestly.
So I guess the good news out of all of this is that I can go back to being me.

We'll see. I mean it could be the best move or the worst mistake. I personally would've rather see them destroy the Sox, but now I have a chance of going to a playoff game now down here at the Trop.

V1, can't you see I'm having a "bitter party" here? Logic won't come into play until I reach the fifth stage of mourning.
P.s. I have a feeling I'm going to be stuck in the second stage for quite some time...

So does this mean you'll be cheering for my Tigers? :D
To be honest, after everything going on in the AL (fight for home-field, last night's ridiculousness, and I stopped paying attention after the Tigers clinched), I don't even know who's clinched in the NL. My guess is Cardinals, Phillies, Brewers, and some other team? Thanks to one of my Facebook friends, I know the Braves had some sort of colossal collapse as well.

Diamondbacks are the other team.
Hopefully the Rangers can make another run at the world series this year. But the Rays are hot right now, and outside of C.J Wilson I don't have a ton of faith in the pitching staff.
Sorry to reopen an old wound Bacchus, but 45 out of 45 ESPN "experts" picked the sox to win the AL east, what a month for them.
On another note, I'm very much rooting for the rangers, I have faith in Derek Holland and CJ Wilson, no one else other than that. I'll be in the press box for most home games as a volunteer and at the post game interviews, should be a blast.

Why cant the yankees beat the tigers in a 5 gm series exactly?

Well, entering the post season with a 4 game losing streak sure doesn't bode well...
Not to mention they face the best pitcher in the AL for two games.
Oh, and I placed a hex on them. ;)
