Haha, they do give me the creepy crawlies! Have you read any of the books or is it all new to you?
Its all completely new to me. I haven't read a single book.
Its all completely new to me. I haven't read a single book.
I hope you're liking them!!! As much as I love the movies, the books are ten times better.
Its all completely new to me. I haven't read a single book.
I didn't start reading the books until the 5th movie came out. It was around the same time the last book was going to be released and I decided I like the series enough to read the books and avoid being spoiled on the fate of the characters. I then became a huge fan.
I would say it would be better to read the 7th book before seeing the movie just because I think it would be more satisfying but I'm not sure how it would work if you hadn't read any of the previous books. Either way I hope you like it! I'm watching the series again now and it's so fun to see how much they have all grown over the years.
As a fan of both the books and movies, the 3rd movie is my favorite(I think part 2 will be my fav, but it's too recent to count, but I'm sure that my opinion won't change much) and I think the sixth book is probably my favorite. I absolutely hated the 5th movie and the book is my least favorite too.
It was a really good movie.... IMO much better than Transformers 3. I loved it.
Grown Ups is better than Transformers 3. But yes, I loved the movie also.
I'm starting the 3rd movie tonight. I hear this is a good one.
Hands down my least favorite movie, think I was mostly bitter about the new Dumbledore though

I was like who the heck is this?! lol

I think it was okay, but definitely shown too much on cable.... lol. I thought it was good, but maybe I didn't fully understand it because I never read the book.
Very cool concept though.

Well, I haven't seen grown Ups so... haha.

I really didn't notice or mind [STRIKE] Gandalf [/STRIKE] the new Dumbledore at all, but my book crazy friends do for some reason.

Haha me too!!

That might explain it, I'm also a way bigger fan of the books, as is my sister. She and I often complain about new Dumbledore, who we describe as "a young man, dressed/costumed liked an old wizard". To this day we joke that a 3rd HP has yet to be made. Haha
Also, I just googled Gandalf, I gotta show my sister this!

Even as a book fan I don't get the hate for Gambon as Dumbledore. If age is really your problem, he was only 7 years younger when he took over than Richard Harris was when he played the role.
I actually think that Richard Harris came off too nice for Dumbledore, especially now that we know his whole story and motives. Or as much of Dumbledore's background as we will get. Like Snape pointed out, he basically saved Harry for slaughter at the right moment.
To each their own, though. I always love Gambon and think he did a great job as Dumbledore.

LOL, Well I'm a huge LOTR fan, and I thought he did a great job in that show, so I really had less than no problem with him as Dumbledore.
I mean, he was an old wizard in both shows.

Liar!!!!
Really? Well it's a good thing I didn't put my head on a block for that one.... #awkward.
Wow. Harry Potter never ceases to amaze me. It was amazing. Didn't think it could beat Deathly Hollows part 1, but it did. Amazing. It went by so fast!

I don't think it's the age thing so much. When I first read the books, I had this idea of Dumbledore in my head that translated perfectly to his portrayal in the 1st two films. Having that stripped away for the 3rd film onward, was a tough pill to swallow
Hands down my least favorite movie, think I was mostly bitter about the new Dumbledore though
I think after seeing all the movies now, the third one is still my favorite with the most recent one not too far behind. The Dumbledore thing didn't bother me at all.

I completely agree! I just think that as the movies went on, Richard Harris wouldn't have portrayed it as good as Gambon did.
I have to say, I'm having a hard time getting through Goblet of Fire. This is our third night watching. Rob Pattinson isn't even makin it better. lol
I wasn't a fan of Rob's portrayal of Cedric. To be fair, it probably wasn't his fault, but in the movie I felt like Cedric didn't come off very likable at all!
