The best player ever is Landon, as he has won every challenge he as been on except one.
Kenny is a really good player, but not the best. And the easiest way to explain his superiority is by looking at the scoreboard. The man has been to the final on most of his challenges, and has won three finals. He plays a well enough social game that he is usually the last person people will pick to put in an elimination. And physically... well, like I said. He has three final victories. And that requires mental and physical strength.
Yeah but you also have to keep this in mind:
Fresh Meat 1: Not that much weight, Inferno 3: Did well, Gauntlet 3: never went in, Island: lost the first Face Off, did nothing after that, and won, Ruins: never went in, Fresh Meat 2: Had the best partner.
It's not as if this guy's done much on his own. If he had to do a challenge with none of his friends helping him, like if he did another Duel, I'd expect him to go early, or at least towards the middle.

Just because he does not go in that often does not excuse him from being a good competitor. He lost a face off on the Island against Abram, and it was a close loss. No shame in that. Beyond that, when he was tested in Fresh Meat 2, he showed up and essentially dominated the Challenge with his partner. This is not a feat to be glossed over given who he was playing against for most of the game: Wes, Evelyn, and Landon. Also, not going in very often is part of having a good social game, and even though he CAN hold his own in eliminations, it is a foolish risk to take if you can avoid it. Smart. Many other competitors would make the same decisions.
For all the problems people have with his personality, Kenny the competitor is no slouch.

I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying where's the proof of him being amazing? If he went in against a bunch of good guys and won I'd say he's good. If he lost, I'd say he's bad. But since he's done neither, how can we really say if he's great or not?

See the difference between what I am actually saying and what you think I am saying?
I'll reiterate. Kenny is not the best player ever. Never tried to argue that he was the best or that he was particularly amazing. What I am saying is that he is not a bad player. Bad players don't get lucky and win three Challenges while coming in second in three other challenges. He is consistently good. Not consistently awesome. Not consistently amazing. Not consistently God-On-Wheels. He is just good, and superior to a bunch of other players. These challenges have a lot of lame ducks.
Watching winners is never boring.
There are so many people on this show(and others) that make that statement Null and void.
There are so many people on this show(and others) that make that statement Null and void.
Seeings as how that is a matter of opinion, the statement is only null and void if nobody on the planet has that opinion.
Besides, I do not watch the show for the drama or hook ups. I am not implying that you do either. I watch because it has become a legitimate athletic competition, and I like sports. Sure it is sometimes interesting when people get into drunken arguments, or somebody gets hit, but the "reality tv" aspect of it is not the best part to me.

Yeah, Landon is definitely one of the most competent (in addition to honest and deserving players on the challenge).
I think Darell also deserves a lot of credit. The only challenge that he lost due to something that actually had to do with physical activity (i.e. elimination round) is Fresh Meat II. I won't even comment his expulsion from The Ruins.
PS: I love that one of the tags for this thread is "mr. beautiful"
Love Kenny. He "gets" it, and will continue to milk the BMP cow until she runs dry.
As a competitor I think he's very good although not top tier (sometimes I wonder if he underperforms purposely and does just well enough to avoid a target on his back, because he seems to power & cruise through finals very easily), but he's definitely top tier as a game player. He's the one who seems to be able to seal the trust when making the deals, and he's skilled at spinning the fan club boys & girls into the alliance web so Evan can sink their teeth into their brain and Johnny can suck them dry. And he manages to stay low-key enough to avoid eliminations for the most part while the other two hang themselves socially or politically when that time comes. Dumb guido, I think not.
Although, seeing that my first love was from North Jersey, Italian, a live-at-home mama's boy, former-fat-kid-turned-hottie, quick with the wit, and hard on the accent, I had no chance the moment this ******* popped up on my screen. (Sorry Mr, Matty!)

This is a ridiculous statement. That's like saying that Roni, Jamie Chung, and Carley are the best female competitors because they have won every challenge they have been on. Landon is a good player, but that's hardly the reason why he's the best ever.
No, Kenny is not the best player (although he would probably beg to differ). But his social game (which appears to be worlds ahead of everyone else's as everyone appears to be terrified to even challenge him and his posse) and his physical game (which isn't pathetic) puts him ahead of a lot of the one trick ponies on these shows.

Fair enough. There are certain things that separate Landon from players like Roni, Jamie Chung and Carley. Landon has been a dominant player in every Challenge he has been on.
Inferno 2: Won 4 Life Shields and 2 Eliminations, was part of the winning team in the Final.
Gauntlet 2: Was never voted in. Derp. Still performed well and won the final.
Duel 2: Won 5 challenges, and one duel. Then lost on the final Duel day, in part due to injury. Still almost won and made it to the Final. I hate to speak in hypothetical terms and speculate, but I can't believe that any of the final 3 guys would have matched his endurance in the final race.
Fresh Meat 2: Won 2 challenges, second to a dominating Kenny and Laurel team who won something like 9000 challenges. Won two eliminations, the last of which he had to essentially drag his partner to the finish. Won the final pretty handily against a Kenny and Laurel team that owned most of this challenge. I think someone on these forums said that Landon and Carley actually beat them by 20 minutes? Again, Landon pushes Carley to the finish line.
Landon has done all this despite having what I would describe as a shaky social game. He tends to take people at their word, and be too trusting of his fellow competitors. That said, he is smart and athletically gifted when it comes to the challenges themselves.
As far as Kenny goes, I agree with everything that you said.
Most overrated Challenge competitor ever. Also, it's easy to have a good "social game" when you do nearly every show and regularly pal around with fellow castmembers outside the shows. He has been probably the luckiest player in Challenge history. Most regulars around here know how I feel about him, so I won't get into that again. Good thing he took a season off, which allowed my anger to go elsewhere (Laurel, Paula, and Jenn in particular), but I'm sure he'll annoy the crap out of me within the first few episodes.

Doing nearly every show I can agree with you on. Is hanging out with people outside of the shows considered to be a bad thing though? If that helps his social game, maybe more people should consider doing it.

The nerve of that *******. Having friends?! Who does he think he is?!
I don't like Kenny and agree with you, but why is he not allowed to hang out with people outside the show?! Lol. Like Molds said, maybe other people should pick up on that then.

No one said anything about him not being allowed to have friends. They said that's the main reason he does well.
I have a feeling that Kenny and Wes will both be able to put their differences aside for money. They're both egocentric but they're also both business-minded - they're able to keep their eye on the prize.
What I'm most looking forward to in this challenge is knowing that Evan, Kenny, and Johnny can't ALL win this time! They'll eventually (most likely) have to turn on one another.
Although knowing my luck, this will be a challenge where THREE teams get to win.

Pair and individual challenges usually have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize.
So they'll probably try to help each other out until the end, because they'd rather see someone they like in the end with them than a pair they have no affinity with. Unless they fear their friends can beat them in the final.

So that's where the strategy comes into play. You want to keep your numbers, but you don't want your friends there if they are major competition. With the teams that they have, if Kenny/Wes want a shot at winning, at least the Johnny/Tyler pair need to be taken out, or at least that's what I think.
