Bad ending, boring kills, no scares, horrible soundtrack (where was red right hands?). Didn't feel like a SCREAM film... :(
I think you nailed it with that last statement.
Me personally Scre4m was beyond expectations it was pretty good! For a reboot of the franchise it does what Scream 3 failed to do it further the franchise while keeping it fresh but certainly a better conclusion than where the previous installment left off. fyi did anyone noticed how that chick cop really resembles Sydney from the Scary Movie franchise?
I liked it and i'm a diehard fan of the originals.
I'm still questioning
why they would kill of Kurby
she was by far the best addition to this new movie, and her acting was superb
The only thing I disliked about it was
when they killed Kirby. I loved that it was similar to the first movie. I wish they would have brought more up about sydneys mom. Something tells me though that we will find out that one of the original 3 killed her in the last movie.
Am I the only that feels like the ending was a cop out?
It's like they couldn't come up with anything else in the world so they recycle the ending from SCREAM 1. Totally predictable as I knew they were going to do that... I think most people knew.

People on other message boards have been suggesting that Kirby isn't dead because she was never really checked on again (everyone else's pulse was checked apparently). Also because when Dewey talked to Jill in the hospital he didn't mention that Kirby was dead. I don't really believe it, but it is a theory.
I wished she would of survived and be the star of the next film, but at least now we have 4 survivors Syd, Dewey, Gail and Deputy Judy.
I enjoyed this movie. Call me dumb, but I never predicted the ending. It was better than Scream 3 and yes some of the Death scenes could have been more dramatic.
As a fan of the Scream movies, and scary movies in general, I was EXTREMELY dissapointed. They should've just called it Scary Movie 5.
I am really shocked at some of these comments. Scream always made fun of scary movies within the movie itself. Maybe they weren't as obvious about it as they were this one, but it was still in all 3 movies. It was a great movie and I really hope they do a 5 and 6.
Practically ALL the new cast was killed. There is no continuation. I mean do they really expect the three originals keep doing these? I thought the premise behind it was to introduce a "new generation" to keep the series going? I mean is Sydney going to be in a wheelchair and still fighting ghostface in Scream 9?

Words cannot express how disappointed I was with this film!!! You want a good ending:
Do not make somebody who looks like their 12 be the killer. Do not repeat endings with your original, that is such a cop out! Kill one of the original three Is it so hard to kill somebody? Jill you are so dumb. Shoot Sidney, Kill Dewey, Kill Gale... it's NOT hard at all when you have a gun and Sidney is defenseless on the ground.
Save your money people, don't buy into the hype. Pathetic/Predictable ending killed the already dull movie.
I love this post. Except I don't agree with the
kill one of the orignal three. I'm glad they made it. But on the other hand, I agree how freaking hard is it to kill the same three ppl??!! Didn't sydney get stabbed like twice? Why is it always so easy for the other characters to die(one knife one and ur gone) but sydney can take like 6 lol.
I will give them props on a somewhat clever opening though.
So Kirby died for sure? Because alot of people have been saying that she didn't die when Charlie stabed her. Could she some how survied?

uh wasn't it already established that Skeet Ulrich killed her at the end of the first one?

Did u not see Scream 3?
I think some of you guys expectation were a little too high. This was a solid movie. Opening was clever as **** and I feel like the the story line was a really really good one. Maybe, I'm just not that hard to please.

Maybe, I'm just not that hard to please.
I agree with you. I think people wanted the storyline to go with the first 3. Wes and Kevin said they weren't going to do that since "it is the start of a new trilogy."
It wasn't the storyline that bothered me, it was the cheesy/corny tone throughout the entire thing. Say what you want about the other three also being spoofs, because yes they are, but watch the first two (three was bad compared to the original two)... you can't say the tone of these movies are the same. Scream 1 and Scream 2 make fun of itself SUBTLY, the score is still scary and the kills are creative. Scream 4 was just stab, stab, stab.... and don't even get me started on the musical score. Like someone else already said, it seriously felt like Scary Movie 5 rather than Scream 4. And someone else said those who didn't like it had too high of expectations...of course we had high expectations going into this. The cast and crew kept saying this was the best one yet. Neve, Courteney, and Wes said it would have to be comparable to the first one to even consider coming back to do it. When they got all 3 signed on, I was like **** yeah this is going to be sweet. After seeing it, I honestly am shocked the three of them signed on...especially Neve. Though it's entertaining --- nothing about Scream 4 indicates that it needed to be made. Nothing new was established. Nothing new was done. It was the same recycled stuff. EDIT: Although, to expand on my surprise that Neve, Courteney, and Wes signed on --- the story itself wasn't bad...and I guess that's all they saw before signing on for the film. Post production (music, certain scenes being left out) and some of the acting/one liners (probably brought in by Ehren Kruger after people signed on) destroyed this film for me.
Did u not see Scream 3?
Unfortunately. All I remember was that it was about her long lost half brother and blah blah blah. So did he kill her? I'm confused lol.
Pretty sure Billy and Stu killed Maureen Prescott. Roman (killer in Scream 3) showed them his "film" of Maureen having an affair with Billy's father. That set everything up and Billy and Stu took it from there.

Yeah, pretty sure Roman convinced Billy and Stu to kill Maureen.

With a better Ghostface reveal (one that comes out of left field) it could have made the movie better. The killings sucked too tho.

Honestly, completely deleting the hospital scene could have saved the movie for me. I didn't mind that Sidney lived...again...but the ending would have been so much better had the final shot been Jill lying next to Sidney, copying the way she's lying on the floor...and then end with voiceovers from reporters calling Jill the hero (yet we all know she's actually ghostface). THAT would have been an ending, I think. The ending now just felt so...blah...like OK, we had 3 survivors heading into this and we have the same 3 survivors leaving this. What have we gotten out of this installment?
Got lured into seeing this a second time. Honestly, it was much better the second time. Still not as good as I had hoped, but I'm not AS disappointed after watching it again.

And what fun is that? Therefore, it just couldn't end like that. I thought this film was fantastic though - I saw it twice! The killer reveal was completely shocking - I had no idea! And also:
I love how they marketed the movie with Emma Roberts being the new lead...hinting that she'd be "the next Sidney" for future installments. Then: BAM!
I was completely shocked.

So Kirby died for sure? Because alot of people have been saying that she didn't die when Charlie stabed her.
Saw it tonight...I enjoyed it. But I'll be honest, I thought this was almost too funny. I get that Scream likes to poke fun at itself, but ****. This felt over the top at certain spots. But, very enjoyable nonetheless. I am a huge fan of the franchise so I enjoyed it.
Bahh multiple posts - sorry! But i wanted to say I sort of agree that it was too funny. They should've balanced the scary/funny scales a liiiiittle bit more. But yeah. Overall I loved it.

Soooo, yeah - there are similarities to Billy and Stu, including Trevor in the closet tied up, etc. How was that not clear?
