I think people are not against all of the Fresh Meat, they just wish more RW/RR would get cast. For a long time, every challenge would have four new Real Worlders from the most previous season, now it seems like there are only two from the most previous season. Fresh Meat- Danny, Wes, Melinda, and Johanna The Duel- Paula, Svetlana, Johnny, and Tyler Inferno 3- Colie, Davis, Tyrie, and Jenn The Island- Cohutta, Dunbar, Ashli, and KellyAnne Then with Duel II there were three from Hollywood, then on The Ruins only two from Brooklyn. Fresh Meat II only had one from Cancun.
Exactly, amen to your post! The whole "what does blah blah blah bring to the challenges" thing is just ridiculous. -Evan and Evelyn are two of the best competitors on the shows and they also supply drama -Kenny's a decent competitor with a great social game, also provides drama -Diem was never a bad competitor, yeah she isn't the best but she's made it to the final elimination on both Duels and had a relationship with one of the top male competitors which in the longrun, led to one of the worst fights in history of the show -Eric was a central point in a lot of drama on the Gauntlet 3 and Cut Throat -Cara Maria came onto her second challenge, started a relationship with one of the most respected Veterans, made the final, was a decent competitor, and was a central point in drama -Laurel has potential to be the future female top competitor and she provides drama -Vinny...is fun to watch -Brandon, you can't say Brandon brought nothing to the shows so far because that would just be ridiculous as well. -Pete, Noor, and possibly Carley don't look promising? Alright, now let's look at some of the RW/RRers who bring sooo much to the shows: CutThroat: Melinda, Chet, Derek, Emilee, Ayiiia, Shauvon, JD Ruins: Ibis, Syrus, Veronica (minus the Tonya fight, anybody can fight her), Chet, Brianna, Shauvon, Nick, Adam, Danny Duel 2: Robin, Brooke, Katie, Shauvon, Nick, Davis, Nehemiah, Isaac, Eric, Dunbar, Derek, Paula, Kimberly I could go on and on, but the like I said before, everybody is now a competitor, and they're there to compete. If you took somebody who didn't watch the show and made the watch an episode, they would never be able to seperate the FMers from the others, and ya know why? Because it really doesn't matter where they came from.
I completely agree with this. This is exactly how I feel. There are a countless number of RR/RW people that come to mind when thinking who brings really nothing to the shows. They cast the Fresh Meat for a reason. I mean if they had never cast any of the Fresh Meat people, people would still find a way to complain and ***** about who was on the show. It's just a matter of opinion. I get exactly where you are coming from on the competition side of things. I'm probably one of the only people that have seen before Fresh Meat that doesn't complain all the time about wanting the challenges to be like the way they used to. I personally enjoy the more physically demanding competition side of things, probably because I'm very competitive myself. The only thing I dislike about recent challenges is the going out and having fun part. It was more fun to watch back then with that, but competition is still competition. Just now people are willing to do whatever it takes to win.
I think it does and it doesn't, moreso the part that I don't watch the Real World. Since I don't, to me new people are new people regardless if they're Rw Rr or FM. I didn't know the backstory of Emily, JD, or whoever else on Cutthroat just like I didn't know Kenny's on FM or Johnny or Paula's on the Duel. I prefer it that way as I'm evaluating who I like and who I don't based on personality and ability rather than if I think they "deserve" to be there. PS. I'm sure I'm probably in the minority but I find Wes SUBSTANTIALLY more annoying than Kenny or Evan (especially post Duel). I cringed whenever he spoke on Fm2 or The Ruins.
I would like to think you are NOT in the minority on that one :D
Brandon was only shown because of how his team treated him. He would've been another Luke had he been on a different team. So yea, he brought nothing. How was Vinny fun to watch? The only time we really saw him was when he blew up at Eric and Sarah, which i think was the same episode. Kenny, Evan, Ryan, Eric, Luke, Vinny, Brandon, or any of the other FM guys are no where near as entertaining or better competitors than Abram, Derrick, CT, Ace, David, Mike, Jeremy, Mark, Frank, Landon, Darrell, Adam, Theo V, Alton and i know im missing a bunch but whatever. The only guy the Fresh Meat guys could probably beat is Ace. But he's way more fun to watch than any of them. Even Matt on The Gauntlet was more interesting. I shouldn't even have to list any comparisons for the girls lol. I just think in general, The Real World and Road Rules casts are much more interesting to watch.
Very strong opinion on that one. And it really made me laugh.
Very strong opinion on that one. And it really made me laugh.
Yea it makes me laugh too.
So....what exactly do Evan, Kenny, Laurel, and Cara Maria bring to the challenges? Like I really wanna know the mindsets of the people who are fans of them and/or don't have a problem with them such as yourself.
I actually strongly dislike Kenny and Evan, I just understand why they consistently are invited on the show. Do I really have to tell you what Laurel brings to an athletic competition? Cara Maria...ah, I guess I have mixed feelings on her. In the end, this is not something I feel strongly enough about to get into a debate about it. I understand where people are coming from when they want only Real World/Road Rules alumni on the challenge (I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a challenge or two go back to this). But with that said, I do understand why these Fresh Meat kids are continuously asked back because some of them have made a name for themselves on the show.
Exactly, amen to your post! Because it really doesn't matter where they came from.
Now I am half in agreement and half not with this. I don't disagree with what you say those FM people bring to the shows. I'm just saying I, and this is just my opinion, do not find what they bring to the shows all that interesting or entertaining. I understand that people do and I do agree that those people do bring things to the table, but I just don't necessarily like it. I can tolerate them all, mostly because I have to since I know they're gonna be back. But the shows have become so repetitive. What I want is to see something different. I want to see the JEK power alliance to actually face an adversary and be taken down, not just because I don't really like them, but because it would be fresh and different and an interesting take on the challenges. I understand it probably won't happen because a lot of the castmembers genuinely like JEK but it would still be nice. However, as far as your list of RW/RR cast members who brought nothing to the challenges, I don't really agree with your point. I'm just gonna break it down by challenge like you did. Cutthroat: Emilee and Derek were there one episode and newbies. Hardly enough time to make an impact. Shauvon, hate her or love her, did bring things to the table while she was there. I'm not saying it was any more entertaining than the FM people, but Shauvon was given plenty of focus. I'll give you JD, but again he was only there those first two episodes. Melinda also didn't add much of anything. With Chet and Ayiiia though, I disagree but only because I actually like them and enjoy watching them. Maybe they didn't provide any heavy drama or competition, but they weren't awful either. However, I would throw Mandi, Vinny, Luke, and Theresa into the "what did they bring" category, so it isn't like the FM people were picking up with what the RW/RR people were slacking on. Ruins: I again have to disagree with Shauvon simply because she thought she busted her implant and that was hilarious (albeit I'm sure it was painful and sucked). Nick, Adam, and Danny were definitely boring. However, with Brianna, Ibis, and Syrus I disagree simply because they were a breath of fresh air. Yeah none of them did much, but still it was good to see Brianna as a new cast member and good to have Ibis and Syrus back. I will completely disagree about Veronica because from what I remember she had like a 4 episode arc. And if you include Chet, I say include Diem. Duel 2: I will start it off saying I completely disagree about Kimberly. She was one of the reasons that Duel 2 was a good watch for me. She beat Ruthie, one of the fiercest competitors, and Robin. And she had that whole Dunbar thing (which was dumb but it was still something). A lot of the people on this cast I cannot argue too much about. Though I have to say Shauvon again did not bring nothing. She was essentially the catalyst of the CT/Adam fight. I also disagree about Isaac, since I think he brought the funny; Robin, because she brought the paranoid; and Paula who quite frankly I can't stand but she had that whole Evan thing. However, Diem, Eric (who you mentioned but he is an FM not RW), and Ryan, aka the only other FM besides Evan, all didn't bring much. So essentially, yes there are cast members from RW/RR who bring less to the table than some FM cast members, but it isn't any huge difference. Of course it's going to seem like a huge difference because there are way more RW/RR cast members than FM ones. There are what, like 25 FM cast members? However, essentially there are 20 because Linette, Aviv, Chanda, Johnnie, and Jesse are basically a memory only. And of those 20, I think about a little more than half of them (Mandi, Theresa, Luke, Vinny, Sandy, Sydney, Jeff, Ryan, Diem, Casey, Eric, Carley) bring little to the table. A few of them (Pete, Noor, Brandon) bring a little more but only because they seemed genuinely cool, and the others (Kenny, Evan, Ev, Laurel, Cara Maria) bring a little more but nothing that I find to be particularly interesting or entertaining. In the grand scheme of things, there are always going to be "boring" people but that's because some people are simply not dramatic, while also not necessarily being great competitors, but I think we need those people. I love watching the Lori's, the Kendal's, the Jamie's (both male and female), the Blair's, etc. because while they may not bring much entertainment, they all seem cool and likeable and I want to watch them. I'd rather watch them be real and boring than watch the manufactured "drama" that I feel like most of the FM cast brings.
I feel that since almost 85 percent of the "old genration" have kids and being aaway from work and kids for 1-2 minths without contact or anything makes a challenge very undesirable.
Did Cara get lip injections or something? Her bottom lip looks huge. If she did, I don't know why because she certainly didn't need them.
So....what exactly do Evan, Kenny, Laurel, and Cara Maria bring to the challenges? Like I really wanna know the mindsets of the people who are fans of them and/or don't have a problem with them such as yourself.
I'm not a big fan of Evan and wouldn't mind NOT seeing him on future challenges, unless it's on something like Spring Break Challenge, where he did commentary with Paula. Kenny: I wouldn't say he's the strongest male competitor, physically, but I'd put him in the top 10. Kenny's at least amusing to watch, is one of the better guys, as far as not being a complete and utter ******* and he is entertaining. Laurel: Seriously? If you don't see what she brings to the challenges, you're not watching the same show. Completely set aside the Easy crap. She's one of the strongest female competitors that have been on the show for awhile. It's been Rachel, then Evelyn and now, Laurel. Plus, I'm sorry, but she's very easy on the eyes and is fun to watch. Oh and she hides candy in her underwear. What's not to like about that? Cara Maria: It'd probably be better FOR Cara Maria not to do future challenges, just because she's not a mind game kind of person and will either become a basket case or cold-hearted, if she becomes a regular on the challenges. Having said that, I do think she's better than she was given credit for and even if she hadn't of gotten with Abram, I think she would have won the gulags and made it to the final.
What's the point of continuing on arguing? There will never be anyone who is "right", no matter how long this goes on for. I also doubt that BMP is going to ever stop bringing FM/FM2 people onto, so complaining and arguing isn't going to make it them go away.
Look The FM just don't make for good Television and they have no buisness on the challenges. That's where I stand. And as for Laurel....She may be a good competitor but she got beat by Carley on Fresh Meat 2 so just how good is she? And it seems like everyone is focusing on the competition and there's nothing wrong with that but these shows are more than that. There needs to be those entertaining moments because honestly the competition isn't all that great anymore.
Road Rules is done and over with. Some Real Worlders aren't coming back. Obviously they needed a quick fix and boom FM is born. They have the loudmouth, the outcast, the ditsy blonde... everything the older challenges had. I don't like Fresh Meat, but i've accepted it. I honestly don't think the new kids bring so much drama. When a show is solely based on drama, something is missing. Timmy peeing on his leg was hysterical on BOTSeasons. You don't need Kenny saying in a confessional that Wes is a red headed goblin to be funnny. Fresh Meat are fillers of what used to be. We've all seen the great competitors (Mark, Landon, Alton, Derrick, Abe) the loud-mouths (Coral, Tina, Tonya, Aneesa) The people who bring Drama (Coral, Tonya, Veronica, Beth, Abe) and the outcasts (Julie, Matt etc...)

Landon/Carley beat Kenny/Laurel. Carley did not individually beat Laurel. Are you insinuating that Carley could beat Laurel in a physical elimination round? Because that to me, is a joke.
Did Cara get lip injections or something? Her bottom lip looks huge. If she did, I don't know why because she certainly didn't need them.
I saw a youtube video of hers like a year ago and she looked like had some work done.
Maybe she did get some lip injections but it could also be the pregnancy. Some girls get really puffy in the face. Jennifer Lopez's lips were OUT OF CONTROL when she was preggo.
Don't even compare the old timers to the Fresh Meat. That is just disrespectful.
I don't see how that is disrespectful at all because pretty much every group of people has one of those stereotypes, if not all three.

If Laurel was so big and bad her and Kenny would've came in 1st place. Laurel only does well if she has someone else helping her. By herself she's average.
i think the new challenge has started because Vinny, Abe, and Theresa haven't been on fb since before new years...
I don't see how that is disrespectful at all because pretty much every group of people has one of those stereotypes, if not all three.
The show has always had loudmouths but I honestly cant say that there were any cast members I would consider dumb or stupid like most of the people today. I just feel like theres a difference in maturity and IQ now. A big difference actually.
i think the new challenge has started because Vinny, Abe, and Theresa haven't been on fb since before new years...
No.
With the current living/housing conditions and how the challenges have not become like a vacation anymore, it seems many of the older generation don't want to return. They really need to get a better production team.
Yeah as much as I want some of the older cast to return. I can see why they can't/won't
Out of curiosity- What if we know personally a cast member that is going on the next one? Are we allowed to say or do we have to wait til everyone is confirmed?

Random Challenge Moment: Remember on Battle of the Sexes 2 when Ayanna was voted off she stood in front of Both teams and made the infamous statement. :I slept in my uniform last night because I wanted to win today!" Wasn't that great?
There are a bunch of older casts want to but they arent asked.
Yeah I know and I dislike that very much.

However, if you also plan on screwing said cast member out for future challenges or having them face a heavy fine at the same time...be my guest.
