Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but don't the Real World seasons usually start airing right after the challenges? Why is that not the case with Back to Vegas?
1. Because almost no one is watching MTV (as demonstrated by the challenge ratings) and they need to run Jersey Shore to gain back some regular viewers first to help Vegas ratings. 2. They would like to wrap up production, take vacation, and then edit the show. They have thousands of hours of video, all of which must be sent out for transcripting, cataloged and then rough edited after the story editor decides how to tell the story. They may also have to shoot additional interviews with cast members. MTV gets first look and right of refusal of the series, so they have to provide notes to BMP and then the editors will begin work on the series. All this takes time, time, time... Just producing an hour show once a month for Direct TV took us about 3 weeks and we were not working with HD video as BMP is now. It's a pain to edit well.
Wow, I everytime I hear you say this V1, It gives me a better appreciation for the development of the series.

This is in reference to the speculation on Jersey Shore cast appearing on future challenges. I got Angelina Pivarnick to follow me on Twitter for a interview im working on with her for my personal YouTube account. I got to ask a few questions I snuck in there challenge questions. She said if they were to be ever asked more than half of them wouldnt do it. Theyve discussed it before and she said Vinny,Mike,Sammi,Ronnie, Pauly have all said money would be a huge issue. The only ones who would be up for it are Jwow/Snooki and herself. She dosent know about Deena because theyve never spoken to each other. As soon as I do the video interview though ill be glad to post the link up. Yeah though if money is the issue the JS cast would probably ask to be paid more than the final mission prize money amount.

Sure BMP has done things a few years ago we wouldn't expect them to do in order to get new people on challenges (Fresh Meat, Spring Break Challenge). However, these members have come from shows produced by BMP. Jersey Shore is under a different production company.

I gave up on that possibility long, long ago. That said, is it unreasonable to posit that MTV could elect to draft any new challenge contract to require BMP to cast people from other shows in its stable? Other networks and production companies have produced reality shows drawing on people from shows even beyond their network family.
Saying the Jersey Shore cast might be on future challenges, is like saying the girls from 16 & Pregnant will be on the challenges also.
Saying the Jersey Shore cast might be on future challenges, is like saying the girls from 16 & Pregnant will be on the challenges also.
Maybe they can have a daycare challenge where Kenny and Johnny have to change diapers...
I don't see that Jersey Shore would do it unless they got a huge appearance fee which would then likely cause the Challenge regulars to revolt. I was always under the impression that a lot of those folks only appear if they are getting as much as the top paid person on the cast per their contract I fail to see how that would help if production costs are a growing issue. If anything it would be some sort of cameo like the CT episode. I would sooner expect to see a Silent Library team show up than the Shore crowd--Plus Pauly D is supposed to be getting his own show so I suspect JS's days are numbered. CJ from Cancun indicates he is filming a new series for MTV, but so far as I can tell from his posts, it looks like it is just a dance club show. Not sure I have the vision to see how that is going to come together into the main MTV line up unless it is for late night on MTV6 in Sri Lanka.
another dance club show? awesome.
Maybe they can have a daycare challenge where Kenny and Johnny have to change diapers...
Ohhh they could also do a hunting challenge because all those teens seem to hunt on the side or with their baby daddy's.
I apologize if this has been brought up earlier in the thread, but as far as a future Challenge idea, shouldn't the obvious choice be an all-star season? Survivor just did an all-star season that was a big success and it seems the Challenge could do something similar. I guess the only thing holding it back is too many of the old school all stars have moved on in their professional lives and wouldn't agree to do the show. Also, I'm strongly in favor of doing more individual challenges with one male winner and one female winner.
Well technically aren't the challenges cast with RW/RR All-Stars?
That's exactly what I was thinking. The casts of the challenges are recurring so it would be difficult to determine who the best of that would be (though I have no doubt JEKD, Wes, Sarah, Dunbar and Laurel would be apart of it). I think they should have more new kids like they had on Cutthroat, but without the Fresh Meat overdose. If they would have taken away Mandi/Theresa and Vinny/Luke and had Callie and Mike from DC on it, it would have been an ideal cast. They should cast people from newer seasons and use Fresh Meat kid to fill any empty spots.

While I agree I like Mike better than Vinny or Luke, I don't see how callie would have been better than theresa.
I think he meant that he has no doubt BMP would cast all those people on a true "all stars" season, regardless of his opinion on them. And I also agree with him that I would rather see Callie and Mike over those FM2 kids, simply because I liked them better.
Why should RW kids be picked over Fresh Meat? While I agree I like Mike better than Vinny or Luke, I don't see how callie would have been better than theresa.
Because it is the Real World/Road Rules Challenge the fresh meat concept was added to add new faces to the lineup, not to take up entire seasons. So I'd rather watch Real World alumni on Challenges because I know their backstory. With the Fresh Meat kids, we don't get a backstory with them so for me theres a lack of substance that a Real Worlder/Road Ruler would have.
[strike]I agree I feel like the RW kids it's more of an update and there being overshadowed by the AFM kids because production trying for us to get to know Fm sad thing is Vinny for example we know more about Derek cancun then we will ever know about Vunny sad but the FM kids no there place and will always be called first to second behing regulars witch so happens to include FM cause they'll always be aviable then RW fills the cast then RR.[/strike] I agree. To me, it feels more like the Fresh Meat crowd is brought in to fill the gaps when there aren't enough RW/RR staples on the Challenges. It is more logical to cast people who have a following/commercial appeal than those who do not just for the ratings cushion. While it is nice to get updates on where old casts are in their lives via the Challenges, the core of the show is competition and the FM crowd comes with an X factor--else we would end up with the same results every Challenge.
How have the results been different the past few challenges before Cutthroat?
Between G3 and Cutthroat the most anyone won was twice. Out of six challenges.
I don't think how they comprise the cast list now qualifies as all-stars. shavonda is not an all-star. same for katie, chet, paula, etc. What I mean is right now they do challenges with some heavy hitters like Johnny, Evan, and Kenny but they never had a top-to-bottom all star team go against each other. For arguments sake, what if they had a season with: Johnny, Evan, Kenny, Derrick, Wes, CT, Abram, Mark Long, Darrell, Frank, Alton, Landon, and Brad. The Duel's cast was very good, but still had weaker players and didn't include every great one. I think this would be fantastic.

Further, unless there is a new contract, there will be only one more challenge and some you list have either not been asked or have, according to sources, declined the next challenge.
You're right. I should have prefaced that post with the fact that some of those I mentioned simply don't want to do another. With that said, I still feel they could entice enough legit all stars to make such a season happen. I'm sure there are a lot of competitors who feel they were amongst the best and their egos may compel them to do one more challenge.

I know the last time I asked a mod, availability calls had only been made, not official invitations...I'm just anxious to know the details about the next RR/RW Challenge considering I'm not particularily interested in the upcoming season of Real World

It will be started when it makes sense to start it. Simple as that.
I would think we will begin seeing clues fairly soon. Production starts in a month
When will we know if MTV orders more seasons or not? Are they gonna wait and see how the next one does?
