DA: Deputy caught judge, public defender having sex | ajc.com
Chief Superior Court Judge Paschal English and Kim Cornwell, an assistant public defender, were caught having sex in a parked car in October 2008, according to documents released Friday by District Attorney Scott Ballard.
A Fayette sheriff's deputy recognized English, and later learned that Cornwell was a public defender, Ballard said. The deputy's dashboard camcorder recorded part of the incident, but that video is no longer available, according to Sheriff Wayne Hannah. No charges were filed after the incident.
"Beyond that, we don't know when the intimate relationship began," Ballard said Friday.
After the two were discovered in the Water Lake subdivision, Cornwell represented defendants in 225 cases in Judge English's courtroom, Ballard said.
Despite the relationship, the investigation did not find evidence of any wrongdoing in the courtroom, according to Jeff Turner, chief investigator.
"I do not find any evidence that any instances where the state or defendant were harmed by actions of the court ever took place in Judge English's courtroom at all, much less when Kim Cornwell was the attorney for the defendant," Turner wrote about his investigation.
Turner also said both English, 66, and Cornwell, 49, declined to comment for the investigation.
In an unrelated incident, English resigned on April 23 after it became clear he had ignored a complaint from an attorney that she was being sexually harassed by another judge in the Griffin Judicial Circuit.
Months earlier, attorney Susan Brown told English that she was being repeatedly harassed with crude comments by Superior Court Judge Johnnie Caldwell. Caldwell resigned April 19. Caldwell and English represented half of the county's Griffin Judicial Circuit’s Superior Court team.
Cornwell was placed on administrative leave when allegations of the romance surfaced. After her resignation, Public Defender Joseph Saia and Ballard were asked to investigate the alleged affair. On June 1, Cornwell was placed on leave without pay, Saia said.
English was a judge for 23 years. He appeared on the reality TV show “Survivor” in 2002.
I know a lot of them are, but like seriously, I doubt ppl like Cirie, Sandra, and Rupert were recruited.
I am just curious how one becomes part of the 5% i guess lol and if there are any success stories.
I know a girl who went with a friend to an audition for survivor in NYC not long after it started and they were asked to be on Amazing Race instead. They turned them down as they were not interested in all that travel madness.
I also sort of know that Johnny Fairplay dude in tangent--we have some people in common and occassionally cross paths. I think he was asked to audition after some talent scout randomly encountered him, or at least that was what I was told. I tend to exit stage right when he is around as he annoys me but if and when I am forced to be in his presence again I will ask him about it.

I would never turn down the Amazing Race! Wow, I can't believe that! I love both shows and would love a chance to be on Survivor, but AR would be my number one reality show pick. Survivor would be #2.

Her job kept her on the road all the time so the desire to lounge around a tropical setting was appealing and the thought of frantic travel was not so attractive as that was what she was trying to escape doing. I think she was an idiot as well.
Hey does anyone know how I might go about contacting the challenge producer of survivor? I'm not looking for a phone number or anything cause I know that'd be ridiculous. But maybe an email address? I remember them in Pearl Islands say that a girl had come up with an idea for a challenge and stuff, and I have so many ideas for challenges, and I think my ideas are better and cooler than the challenges they have presently. Like tossing bean bags onto barrels?(although I am sure that sounds really arrogant of me). So anyways... does anyone have any contact information? or any ideas of how I would go about contacting him? Thanks guys.
Pretty cool article about Ethan (Survivor: Africa winner) and Ryan Sutter running the NYC Marathon. Great time for both of them, especially Ethan.

any word on whether or not the next season has any returning cast members? or is it a brand new cast? I'd love to see a Fans Vs. Faves 2 personally. Or a second chances season.

Dalton Ross over at EW ranked the winners from the first 20 seasons.
20. Natalie White, Samoa - One of the nicest people you'll ever meet, but she had no business winning. People that try to argue she deserved it over Russell are delusional.
19. Amber Brkich, All-Stars - She won only because the jury was too bitter to award the million to the person who actually played the best: her now-husband, Boston Rob.
18. Aras Baskauskas, Panama: Exile Island - Was overshadowed all season by Terry Dietz, who was undone by a final challenge that may have been inadvertently rigged against him.
17. Vecepia Towery, Marquesas - I suppose it could have been worse if Neleh won, but not by much.
16. Sandra Diaz-Twine, Heroes vs. Villains - She did not play an awful game by any means (although she was downright laughable in challenges), but Parvati and Russell played so much better.
15. Bob Crowley, Gabon - Admit it, if I just said the words "Bob Crowley" your first reaction would be "Who?" Your second reaction: "Ehhhhhhhhh…"
14. Sandra Diaz-Twine, Pearl Islands - I probably should put her higher, just for the sole fact that she prevented someone who had already been kicked out of the game (Outcast scout leader Lil) from winning.
13. Jenna Morasca, Amazon - She was Parvati before Parvati, using the social flirting game to her advantage. I love her like a sister, and have found her transformation from Playboy party girl to socially conscious creature amazing — but this is as high as she gets.
12. Ethan Zohn, Africa - If this was a list of Survivor winners I most respect and admire as people, he'd be #1, but I still wish my main man E had come through stronger in the final endurance challenge.
11. Danni Boatwright, Guatemala - She was in the minority alliance but flipped the script and then won when it mattered.
10. Earl Cole, Fiji - An awful season, but he controlled the game from start to finish, and was clearly the dominant person out there.
9. Brian Heidik, Thailand - An awful season, but he controlled the game from start to finish, and was clearly the dominant person out there. (Déjà vu!)
8. Chris Daughetry, Vanuatu - Was the last man standing against an all-female alliance, but got some ladies to flip and rode the wave to victory.
7. Tina Wesson, Australian Outback - Her best move was getting close enough to Colby so that he would make the ultimate mistake of bringing her to the finals to beat him.
6. Todd Herzog, China - He got a bit paranoid and scattered in the middle of the game, but his final Tribal Council performance was a work of absolute beauty.
5. Yul Kwon, Cook Islands - One of the smartest players ever, he leveraged his possession of the hidden immunity idol to get Jonathan Penner to flip, putting the numbers back on his side.
4. J.T. Thomas, Tocantins - It will be a long time before he lives down his infamous letter in Heroes vs Villains, but never has a cast been as awestruck and in love with someone as the Tocantins folks were with J.T.
3. Parvati Shallow, Micronesia - The most frightening thing about this is that as amazing as she was in Micronesia, she was even better (in defeat) in Heroes vs Villains.
2. Tom Westman, Palau - He dominated his season socially, strategically, and physically like no other. Was there ever any doubt at any point during the season that he would win?
1. Richard Hatch, Borneo - The guy who taught everyone else how to play the game. While everyone else was there to live in the wild, he was there to win. And when the snake finally devoured the rat, Richard Hatch became a reality icon.
19b. Jud Birza, Nicaragua - He had no idea he was on a reality show. When asked for comment about his victory by Jeff Probst at the reunion show which he didn't know why he was attending, Jud confidently said, "I like turtles." Later he was informed by his mom that in fact he was on a season of Survivor and it wasn't a camp for "special people like you" which was the ploy she used to get him on the plane.
Natalie White, Samoa - One of the nicest people you'll ever meet, but she had no business winning. People that try to argue she deserved it over Russell are delusional.
Agreed. She is hands down the worst winner ever, the rest is up for debate - but I generally agree with the order.
I think Parvati's Micronesia game was overrated. She got extremely lucky with Fairplay's quit saving her in the first tribal council. Also with Jonathan Penner who always shake things up being med-evacuated.

I dunno, Parvati arguably made one of the biggest moves in Survivor...ever. The Ozzy blindside was played perfectly.
I liked the list, but many of the people I cant remember. I thought from the final 10 I would be able to remember everyone, but I don't remember Yul, Chris and Earle.
Parvati was an awesome player. She had great moves.
I am happy Russell is not up there.

Ah no way. Parvati I think is one of the top 5 survivors of all time, although I think she did play even better in Heroes vs. Villains. Giving away 2 HII was probably the most brilliant move (and ballsy) I have ever seen, although in hindsight, it might have cost her the game. Had she kept them, she would have made it to the top 9 with 2 idols. And with her 3 immunity wins along the way, she would have been basically guaranteed a spot in the final 3 with a strong influence of who sat next to her. Regardless, that move was ingenious.

The list was just of the winners from the first 20 seasons.

I know, I am saying I am happy Russell didn't win. He played twice and lost twice.
I don't agree with that list at all. He seems very biased against anyone who beat Russel. It seems like he based it more on the the people that they played against than the actual winners game..

Really? I think the top 6 is actually really accurate.

Natalie White (I literally had to flip back to the previous page to remember her name, again) is undeniably the most inconsequential winner ever. She won by default and is already forgotten. If I had not seen the list earlier, I'd of had to have gone to CBS or Wikipedia to jog my memory of who won Samoa.
While I think Sandra at least showed up (unlike Natalie "Zero Game" White) Parvarti played a better game in Heroes vs. Villains - in my honest opinion and should have won.
I find the list accurate in that it has been built using the same criteria I use when judging winners and judging seasons...
If you get blindsided - you got played by the better player or players. Take it like a man (or woman) and reward the game play. Don't be a bitter pansy and cry whilst giving your vote to a pawn that was just along for the ride.
When you do, you disrespect the game and it is a game. Not a popularity contest. Not give the nice middle age woman the prize because she has a great smile contest. It is a game, and the jury should reward gameplay in the spirit of the very first iconic season when Richard Hatch was crowned the first Survivor because he outwitted, outlasted, outplayed.
Is it me or is Survivor: Redemption Island a lot like The Challenge format-wise?
My friend and I were talking about Redemption Island earlier today and I kept thinking of The Duel, so no, it's not just you.

I honestly can't agree that Natalie is a worse winner than Danni, Bob or Amber. She really orchestrated the Eric(I think?) blindside. Amber did nothing and Danni simply won because Stephanie was that seasons villian. Bob probably had somewhat of a game, but I can't remember anything he did on the show.
