If winning an elimination came with a big stack of Benjamins instead of Beats by Dr. Dre, people would be more willing to go into them.
At the end of the day, it's not like Brad threw his morals out to win a challenge. It's getting really annoying hear people complaining about how he played the game. I don't even think he's playing dirty, he just has an alliance on his side this time around and is using it to his advantage. Kudos to him for the win.
One reason I think the older challenges are better. People showed up TO COMPETE and to get their hands dirty. Not just sit around, play politics and not give it anything.
There were always politics in the game. lol
Pssst, yeah right. Sarah was sent in 5 times, Cara twice & Katie twice on The Gauntlet. There has never been a challenge when everyone would voluntarily go in just to prove that they belong. Competitors would just kick *** in missions & fight to stay out of elimination rounds. I don't know why it comes to peoples surprises that Abram & Brad didn't go in or want to go in.
It always baffles me when people volunteer to throw themselves into an elimination round, give their immunity to someone else, etc. If I were on an elimination-style reality show, I sure as **** would do whatever I could to avoid going into elimination at any cost. So it really shouldn't come as a surprise that Abram and Brad didn't want to go in - they were there to win.
I have no problem with Abe not going in because he was clearly the best player on his team from a physical and leadership standpoint. He was clearly the least expendable guy on his team... I wouldn't give JD, Luke, Dan, or Vinny a free pass either. As for Brad, he took the low tier coward route in my opinion. He hasn't done anything extraordinary this season and has proven to be a terrible and illogical leader on the past two challenges where he's been thrust into that role. There isn't one thing Brad contributes to the team that couldn't have been contributed by somebody else that they already have. He should've manned up, if just to be a leader and "show the team how it's done" from a morale standpoint to go into a Gulag and win... he didn't even do that. After Dunbar and Tyler both went in and won, two guys every bit as athletic and are physically stronger than he is, he should've had the character to man up and earn his keep and go into the last one with Derrick.

Derrick flatout embarrassed him on the Gauntlet 2 and outwrestled him easily on the Duel when Derrick pushed CT, Eric, and then Brad off the plank into the water on a mission on the Duel. Derrick > Brad and Brad knows it.
One reason I think the older challenges are better. People showed up TO COMPETE and to get their hands dirty. Not just sit around, play politics and not give it anything.
I actually agree with ya here. Yeah it's a TON of money in the end, and you're technically competing in the missions, but honestly, if I was on the challenges I'd actually want to prove myself as a good competitor and send some people home instead of looking "scared" or "weak". But there's always gonna be different angles to look at the situation. You can be the kind of person who volunteers when needed and be looked at as a good player, or you can avoid the eliminations by doing everything you can to do so, and have a "strong" social game. I, personally, would like to be looked at as someone who can hold there own individually and not have to rely on others to do well. But like I said before, the way Brad played this challenge is fine if he doesn't care about be criticized like he has been. Yeah he won, but he's catching a lot of grief for not proving himself like he has in the past. Like I said above, there different angles to go about winning a challenge. Two of those angles include: -The Cut Throat Brad way- dying for a win so playing as sneak as possible to stay away from eliminations -The Inferno 3 Derrick way- Winning the challenge after actually competing in an elimination Yeah Derrick was put in by the GG, but he went in with confidence, and so did Davis, and he still kicked his ***.
I can't blame him for not wanting to against Derrick again.... Wes and Tyler actually both called Derrick out, but it's impossible to say that they were 100% confident going againt him...who would be?
Idk why people are acting like this. Why on earth would you want to go in? It makes 0 sense.

I've never had anything handed to me and it's easy to say "I'd do this" or "I'd do that", but I can't imagine not earning my way or working for it. It's a show, yeah, but I'd rather go out on my own two feet, than have someone carry me. I get the whole not wanting to go into elimination rounds on these shows and that it's a lot of money, but you've got to look yourself in the mirror, too.
Idk why people are acting like this. Why on earth would you want to go in? It makes 0 sense.
I like to compete. I mean, yeah if I was desperate for the money then I'd try getting to the end as carefully as possible, but if I was on my first challenge and wasn't a target right off the bat, I'd wanna prove myself to everybody. It wouldn't be too hard to volunteer, tons of people do (Theresa, Emily, Derrick, Johnny, etc.) and if everybody was arguing about it, and I was physically ready, I'd step up.

Wes and Tyler actually both called Derrick out, but it's impossible to say that they were 100% confident going againt him...who would be?
Well if you lose to Derrick... you lose and get a beatdown and if you win against Derrick it takes everything you have to beat him.
Well if you lose to Derrick... you lose and get a beatdown and if you win against Derrick it takes everything you have to beat him.
Very true. This is why I'm gonna respect Tyler more on future challenges (if he partakes). With the Duel and Gauntlet 3, Tyler never impressed me, even while knowing what he does for a living and how good of shape he is in. Now that he's taken out a top dog like Derrick, I'm gonna look at him entirely different.
I agree that it's dumb to volunteer for elimination. If this were a pure athletic thing where the competition is for pride and not money that's different...but it's a game show...get to the end should be the primary goal. At the same time, having seen the episode, I think Brad comes out of this episode looking pretty scummy, look for his fight with Tyler. It's after the Gulag vote and Tyler calls him out for being a coward. Brad's response is that he had to go one on one with Abram in the challenge which is "the last thing I wanted to do coming into this house", and says that Tyler should've manned up and taken him...despite the fact that Tyler took out Abram (with Dunbar), Derrick, and Luke in the first round and just finished with CT the night before. Had Tyler gone in and lost, he would've been sent in for messing up (like Brandon), but since Brad went in and messed up he gets a pass since he "stepped up" (even though everyone including Tori TOLD him to do it). Very hypocritical.
They were hoping to get rid of Luke as well, which would result in $26,666 each ($80k / 3), plus a much better payday if they won the finals. Personally, I think it would be dumb to deliberately go into the finals with only one guy.
then it would have been 60k/3 because they wouldnt have won the 20k (martini ball mission)..which is STILL 20K each
but since Brad went in and messed up he gets a pass since he "stepped up" (even though everyone including Tori TOLD him to do it). Very hypocritical.
We can only hope since Brad finally WON, he is done with challenges or atleast he and tori are done doing them together since everyone results in a fit between the 2 of them and Brad looking whipped
We can only hope since Brad finally WON, he is done with challenges or atleast he and tori are done doing them together since everyone results in a fit between the 2 of them and Brad looking whipped
That's probably a fair assessment.
One reason I think the older challenges are better. People showed up TO COMPETE and to get their hands dirty. Not just sit around, play politics and not give it anything.
Huh?! People from the older challenges like Coral, Katie, and Veronica are three of the absolute worst in challenge history when it comes to thinking they should be rewarded for sitting around, doing jack ****, and getting a check at the end. Coral would play every manipulation angle imaginable to keep herself out of eliminations. Aside from Veronica, she is probably the #2 person on these shows as far as people who were about as afraid of elimination rounds as they were death. I don't think anything really needs to be said about Veronica... her level of cowardice and politics is well documented. And then you have Katie... somebody who doesn't exercise, lives off cigarettes and alcohol, and has complained on every challenge she's been on for being "thrown under the bus" by her team when they would rather risk losing her over one of their dedicated, competitive people. Some of these people on the shows are fame *****s and think they're entitled to be on television or something... well on a show with a concept such as this, you're not going to get a free ride and ride the backs of others to a huge pay day. If you're not carrying your own weight, you're outta there and rightfully so.

I was thinking of cast members like Landon, Timmy, Derrick, Kina, Mark, Alton (pre-Inferno 3), Adam (Paris) and competitors who didn't directly avoid getting their hands dirty. Go look at previous casts and the number of actual "challengers" goes down. On this one, you had Derrick, John, Tyler, Brandon and... those are the ones who come to mind.
It seems like because Abram doesn't make it through the final he's being questioned. How would the Gray team have fared throughout this challenge without Abram? Not well at all. This isn't directed at you cryssy19.
Yeah, in any case, I was just using an example of how it could be better to have 1 guy on your team on a final, not saying Abram sucks. Although I think because people expect more out of him, that's why they think he didn't do too well, because we've known Abe to be a beast, and here, he was just good. Better that alot, but just good.
. I don't know why it comes to peoples surprises that Abram & Brad didn't go in or want to go in.

At the end of the day, it's not like Brad threw his morals out to win a challenge. The proving yourself thing I believe is necessary, and Abe did that in challenges, so I don't really mind hom not going into an elimination. What irks me is Brad's hypocrisy. That is what really makes me dislike him here. I don't even care if he hasn't proven himself to be a good competitor. What he did prove was that he is a hypocrite. Telling Paula everyone has to prove themselves, but you didn't. Telling Tyler you stepped up when you caused the team to lose and threw Brandon under the bus when he did the same, saying you wanna go into the gulag but saying Brandon was gonna keep going in, and Tyler was always gonna go in. Brad's a pretty BIG hypocrite, I must admit. I don't even care if he plays the game dirty, a long as you know what your doing and be tricky. Don't try to give people advice when you are doing the opposite, because he comes out looking dumb and worse than even JEK.
Poor Paula :"(

So molds I think you stated before this season aired that the top 5 women this season (athletic wise) were Laurel, Sarah, Jenn, Cara Maria and Tori..... I'm guna have to disagree with you after watching and say that the top 5 were actually Laurel, Sarah, Emily, Jenn and Paula. Tori and Cara Maria are weak!!!! Especially Tori, I thought she was way stronger than that but I was totally mistaken.

More foreshadowing! Abe's gonna have to carry Laurel...hmm let's flip that a bit:biggrin:

She'd lose to either 2 and i know a few more tht would smoke ker

Anybody else notice how in the preview there was a blurred scene and it showed three males and a female in red? Just found that interesting.
Oh that's how? I couldn't notice unless I paused it.

Plus Laurel carries the Grey team in the final. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Laurel is the strongest girl.
