I get why Laurel acts the way she does. She's a Division I athlete and though I don't view Cara Maria as a weak competitor, Laurel is an athlete and she does have a competitive nature. She isn't going to be okay with anyone not giving 110% in ANY competition. That's why she didn't throw the challenge this week, too, because she is a sports(wo)man. At the end of the day, Laurel wants to win and she wants a strong team to go to the final. I don't think if Cara Maria hadn't gotten with Abram, that Laurel would ride her as hard as she does. People give her **** for doing the same exact thing that guys have been doing since the beginning of challenges. Look at the guys on Gauntlet 3 "trimming the fat". That's no different except that Laurel's yelling louder than anyone, so it draws attention to her.
No, she is not.
To be honest, I think they picked her for two reasons. 2. Boston. They could fly them both out simultaneously.
Pretty sure Tina lives in Texas.
It sucks how BMP makes To Be Continued episodes. Especially since they made us wait a whole week for the episode. Honestly, the episode wasn't even that good for it to be a TBC. It really ****** me off.
No, she is not. ...
And obviously neither is Tina. But I suspect that molds13 is one...
Last time we saw Tina was on The Duel episode 2 when she punched Beth and Last time we saw CT was on The Duel 2 episode 1 when he punched Adam. Just think about last time we saw them was on the Duel

I totally loved this episode loved loved loved!:D. The ending though had me laughing lol from a couple of the interviews I wrapped up this morning and havent gotten proof read by Vevmo yet which ill be doing soon. I was told the way the cast reacted was way worse than what we were showen alot of em looked liked bulls is the expression that was used. Especially Johnny they said he was livid and truly ticked off by the whole twist this challenge.
And obviously neither is Tina. But I suspect that molds13 is one...
No, I'm a lowly club athlete that went to a Division 1 school and won a national championship. But I have never talked myself up as a Division 1 athlete.
PS: Don't watch the episode 9 preview on MTV.com if you don't want to know who lost this week's Gulags.
Cara MariA is no Casey, but at the moment she is the weakest link. She honestly doesn't seem like anything more than average, which is disappointing considering her Meet the Meat trial scores. As for Laurel and Sarah, they're both extremely competitive and are actually thinking about the endgame. As far as they've (and tbh, what I've) seen, Cara Maria barely pulls her weight. I'm not saying that she will drag them down in the final, it just looks like she's the one most likely to. Plus, Laurel at least has some pretty impressive credentials to her name (although she is NOT the goddess she thinks she is), and Sarah is no slouch either.
Laurel, up until this episode, has done nothing. abram was right about her performance prior to this episode. She has not demonstrated her capability. As far as her attitude towards Cara Maria, I think she still harbors bitterness that Cara Maria was picked first on the fresh meat. Laurel has a lot of personal issues that continue to come out episode by episode. I think she has childhood scars or something that forces her to continue to lash out on people for no reason. HELP!!! Sarah, who is a good performer, has yet to convince me that she is better or worse than Cara Maria on this challenge.
Ok so I just got around to watching the episode...I don't have much to say except for WHY WAS CT HOPPING AROUND FOR THE LAST 10 MINUTES LIKE ONE OF THOSE VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS?! Not gonna lie, that was slightly funny mainly because he looked deranged lol.

I'm sure it has already been said but a coin toss on who gets to go first? Going first seems to be a huge disadvantage. There is no way Tina or CT can put up as much of a struggle or fight against the second person as they're going to be unfairly worn out by the first person.

Sarah, who is a good performer, has yet to convince me that she is better or worse than Cara Maria on this challenge.
Nothing in this challenge, or overall? While she did have the advantage of an above-average partner, she still did really well on FM2. As for this challenge, she (along with Sarah), was first on the surf's up challenge, finished the tightrope challenge with a very respectable time, and except for the bedhead challenge in which she did not have anyone to help her, like the rest of the girls, hasn't been a hindrance in any of the other challenges--they were very team-based, which makes it hard to say whether someone does good or bad. And I do agree that part (only a part) of the bitterness has to do with CM being picked first over her on FM2, but I'm sure last week's events did not help matters at all. For all of my defending of Laurel as a competitor, I still don't like her personality. I don't think what she is doing and saying re:CM is right; I just think I understand it and don't really blame her for it. Although it would be helpful, even if just for herself, to try and come to terms with it and let it go.
No, I'm a lowly club athlete that went to a Division 1 school and won a national championship. When I'm excited about stepping on the mat and letting loose, I can't stand still--it's nothing to do with staying loose; it's just energy that can't be contained. Given that it's CT, I wouldn't expect anything less. His facial expression bordered on manic, even my roommate (not a Challenge fan, but herself a D1 collegiate athlete).
Pretty sure Tina lives in Texas.
Ah my mistake I thought she lived in Boston. I remember hearing that on one of the Fresh Meat aftershows, I probably misheard.
Did Laurel ever call herself a D1 athlete?
I don't know. I know that it was on her FM2 bio (which, granted, she did not write, but it is misleading information).
Or he was just amped up and ready to go nuts. But I always did that when I was standing on the field before a game to stay warm.
Having CT back on a challenge is amazing, even though it is just for an elimination. The intimination factor that he projects is simply amazing. No other competitor can match that. Seeing CT is a reminder of what the challenges used to be. Also what do you think would of been the best matchup for the viewers for CT to face. I would have to say Abe, becuase I think CT would bring crazy Abe back, but that is just me.
The hardest part of breaking up would be if Tori went home and Brad took the cash and married a Russian Bride. Just saying...
Exactly. He has proven him self to be selfish though. Also, Is it just me or did they say Lucy in the captions instead of Ruthie or did they purposely say Lucy? And LOL@ everyone not liking TJ but yet loving this little twist. Also Am I the only one bothered by CT and Tina not talking until the last second?
I'm sure it has already been said but a coin toss on who gets to go first? Going first seems to be a huge disadvantage. Someone mentioned it earlier on this thread or a different one...but does anyone think/know if Mtv or the producers perhaps intended to introduce CT and Tina on a earlier gulag but held off until this 2nd to last gulag where they got a great matchup like a CT vs Johnny?? I mean it definitely makes sense especially for excitement and ratings!! How interesting would CT vs an Eric, Dan or Brandon be...no history, and an easy win for CT...I feel real bad for Johnny because I was liking him much better on this challenge. Just curious on peoples thoughts...

Just curious on peoples thoughts...
Meh, I dunno...I think Johnny vs. Tyler would have been better, just because of their old rivalry. Plus, apparently Theresa and Tori had a simmering dislike for each other, so that would have been awesome to see. And, as mentioned before, despite the rest, there's still no way Tina and CT can be at 100% again. Honestly, I thought it was going to be both of them having the chance to stay (or both leaving) if they won or lost to the "heavy hitter".
No, she is not. Pretty sure Tina lives in Texas.
"MTV Biography: Laurel is a tall, strong, Division One athlete with a fierce competitive streak." From her bio on Mtv. That's what I was going by when I said she was a Division I athlete.
Not at all. Thats wh they took a break and are alternating between boys and girls during this Gulag.
The person is still going to be a lot more worn than they were in the first round when they were fresh. The people going first are at a HUGE disadvantage by having to struggle around with fully energized opponents.
"MTV Biography: Laurel is a tall, strong, Division One athlete with a fierce competitive streak." From her bio on Mtv. That's what I was going by when I said she was a Division I athlete.
And I was going by Michigan State's athletics website, where Laurel has not ever been mentioned in their past rosters or statistics. Laurel is as much of a Division I athlete as Evan: not at all.
And I was going by Michigan State's athletics website, where Laurel has not ever been mentioned in their past rosters or statistics. That's a real head scratcher.
That's confusing, because wouldn't BMP or Mtv have checked that out prior to posting that she is a Division I athlete? That's a real head scratcher.
Who knows. It's possible that Laurel actually said she was a club athlete, or even a Division I recruit (I do know she was all-state in high school) and MTV turned that into a Division I athlete to make it more "interesting". I do know for a fact that Laurel either played at least one season of club volleyball at MSU, or was friends with both the mens' and womens' club teams. Evan on the other hand, has stated in numerous interviews that he received an athletic scholarship to play hockey at Cornell, and Ivy League schools do not give out athletic scholarships and he was listed on the club team's statistics page. So he's actually completely full of ****.
The person is still going to be a lot more worn than they were in the first round when they were fresh. The people going first are at a HUGE disadvantage by having to struggle around with fully energized opponents.
Everyone might want to wait and see how each round ends up before they make a decision about how much of a disadvantage going first was. I think the amount of disadvantage comes down to how long the first person lasts and how long the heavy hitter gets to rest in between rounds. So since we all saw Theresa last 15 minutes against Tina you can use that as a guide to decide if you think Tori got a better deal. If Johnny lasts a while against CT giving Tina a good break and she performs similarly against Tori then there really is not an advantage. But if Johnny only lasts a short time giving Tina a short break and she performs worse against Tori than you have an argument that Tori had a major advantage. That is of course, if you consider both Johnny and Tyler and Tori and Theresa to be equal competitors with no advantage to start with.

You have to exert enough energy to drag your opponent across and that tires you out But i agree that tori will have a much bigger advantage than tyler will. Tina got worn down like crazy in that gulag. I have a feeling CT is going to absolutely destroy Johnny and not be 100% going against Tyler, but something close to it Also, just curious anyone know the time frame of how long tina & CT were in prague? Did they just get off the plane hours ago? If so that definitely affects their performance. Just saying.
Also, just curious anyone know the time frame of how long tina & CT were in prague? Did they just get off the plane hours ago? That blows that he'd lie about that. Laurel, though, it doesn't seem like she's pulling an Evan and like you said, maybe the show wanted to make it more interesting.
I really was hoping that CT and Tina were both full on competing (meaning they got to drag their opponent to their barrel). I guess that's because I wanted Johnny to go home and I figure this way he'll beat out Tyler most likely.
