Or Eric, Pam/Jessica and Alcide! :D So is the show basically doing season 1=book 1, season 2=book 2 and so on with little changes here and there? I've heard the books are pretty decent and easy reads too. I'll probably start them once the season is done.
Totally down for that! I am just waiting for Jessica to snap on Little Miss doll collecting stepford wife...And I am ready for Tommy to show Sam some respect...although after that beatdown Sam gave Crystals dad I don't think it will be too much of a problem for Tommy to see that Sam isn't just a pushover.
I loved last episode! Russell was so evil by de-spining that reporter on national TV then waging war against the American Vampire League. I think it will now take a while for Eric to plot his perfect revenge against Russell. Nan Flanagan kind of scares me. Glad that Franklin finally met his demise and at the hands of Jason. Tara is starting to become alot more tolerable and now Crystal is the one who's really annoying me. Jason should know better than that to follow her around. She spells out trouble for me... Loved the Bill and Sookie bonding and I really hope they tell us soon what she really is :D . Sam was awesome in this episode, he really gave Calvin a beatdown!! I wished Sam or Jason gave Felton a beatdown too. Tommy is kind of annoying too and hope he doesn't drive Sam crazy. I was kind of bummed that there was no Alcide last episode, as he's one of my favorites now. Also glad that Arlene is given a storyline, as Arlene and Terry have one of the few human storylines, that don't seem to involve anything supernatural. I thinking of getting the books soon, heard they are good.

Now that being said, hurry up and catch up...and I will try to be careful to not spoil you via twitter when I am watching the current season.
Yes catch up OPD!! I got hooked a few months ago and watched the first two seasons in a mega marathon! If you don't want to be spoiled definitely avoid the thread and I will also try to not spoil too much over twitter. Enjoy!
In the story accompanying the nude and gruesome 'True Blood' cover of 'Rolling Stone,' the show's stars talk about how they approach being nude on set. Alexander Skarsgard goes sockless. "I don't want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous," he told the magazine. "If we're naked in the scene, then I'm naked. I've always been that way." Stephen Moyer is more modest and opts for a sock but just out of regard for others. "I've got nothing to hide," he said. "I just think it might be embarrassing for the crew."

I read that earlier today and man do I love ASkars. Thank god for his dedication to acting. :D
I read that earlier today and man do I love ASkars. Thank god for his dedication to acting. :D
I wish I was on that crew :(
I'm in the middle of this episode, but a discrepancy has always bothered me: One guy has a taste of a swatch of blood and trips balls, while another person drinks a quart and feels "better" or stronger. What is up with that? They have not been consistent with that storyline and the effect of vampire blood. Ok, back to the episode at hand.
I've wondered about that too. Maybe it is explained better in the books but I found that odd too. It's like they take on some of the vamp traits (strength, healing...) when they drink a lot but only feel the euphoria when they have a drop?
I always wanted to know what would happen if someone uninvited a vampire! And to find a cute panther in the bedroom after the fact? Awesome! A lot of the story is somewhat predictable and we are running out of time, but I seem to always really appreciate the last 20 minutes or so and especially the last 5. Sam has a dark, dark past. Damn. That I will say was a bit shocking. The Jessica arc is still leaving me wanting more, but at least they are working toward a payoff, I guess. I could care less about Sam's brother and Russell, well - he will die, I guess. That part of the plot seems to be slipping away, but I'll assume it comes back to that with Eric somehow winning the day. Bill just seems weak of late. Not the stud vampire he once was... So I guess that is why Eric is in the Sookie game.
BTW: I want the Tara storyline to disappear. It adds nothing and takes up minutes. I didn't care about Eggs last year and I sure as heck don't care now.
I think Sookeh telling Bill to leave was the only other time we've seen an invitation rescinded but this was a nice extended force out! The Sam reveal was nice and I think it adds a good new layer to his character instead of just being this nice lost boy type of guy. I don't care about his brother either and once he attacked Hoyt he was dead to me. You don't like Russell B? I LOVE him. He will probably die in the finale but I hope they surprise us and get away from that formula before it becomes too predicting. No more of this new season = new villain = ramp up to dead villain in finale. I'm so happy to finally have Hoyt and Jessica back together! I missed them and there hasn't been nearly enough Jessica. Now that Hoyt has had some vamp blood hopefully they can focus on them a little more in the last few eps. It was nice to have a lot of Eric but it was way too much time spent on saying his goodbyes. I wanted a little more of coming up with a plan and less of signing a will. Now that Jason's secret is finally out and Tara knows it all hopefully she will get something better to do. I know the actress has more to give than a lip quiver! And as much as I like Lafayette and Jesus that extended V trip was way too long and didn't really give me anything new that already hadn't figured out from the clues. ALSO: WHERE IS ALCIDE! I need my weekly man meat fix of Eric + Alcide!
I am so mind ****ed when it comes to TB...between reading the book sand watching the show, I am so confused as to what has happened where, LOL. I want more PAM! I am so ready for that little ****er Tommy to learn his life lessons and move on from Bon Temps. I agree tots...more Alcide!! PS Tara in the books is worse than Tara in the show...much, much more pathetic.

Ugh! No wonder these writers don't know what to do with her.
BTW: I want the Tara storyline to disappear. It adds nothing and takes up minutes. Although there were so many revelations in this episode, it wasn't one of the best this season.
Best moment of the night, Hoyt sucker punching Tommy and Jessica throwing his doggy butt into the woods! :D Tara is worse in the books? Ugh! No wonder these writers don't know what to do with her.
Loved seeing Jessica grab him by his neck and toss his *** into the woods, I was wishing that she would have seen him hiding in the bushes and ripped his throat out. As for Tara, as of my reading last night, I think she is starting to come around, but it seems to be a slow process I am guesing that what she went through in the books was basically the same as with Franklin on the show only it was kinda different because it wasn't Franklin that did it, I think they combined the Franklin character with a vampire named Mickey who was responsible for terrorizing Tara. Oh and in the books, Tara owns an nice dress shop in Bon Temps, she has the same past only in the books she overcame her childhood and came out successful. Jessica isn't in the books that I know of yet :(
They probably had to scrap the dress shop bit so they wouldn't have another location to deal with. It's bad enough already trying to get all the characters in the same place to have screen time! Well if Jessica isn't in the books I think that is one positive change they've made along with keeping Lafayette alive.

Well True Blood sucked tonight. The pagan ritual was too drawn out. This Eric/Bill pretending to be bad while they are really good has worn out its welcome and isn't effective anymore. Bill just sitting there begging Pam to untie him to save Sookeh was kind of pathetic. Between Sookeh being saved by V every time, it being used to bring people back from a bad beating, a replacement for steroids or taking you on crazy trips it's turning into a bad crutch for the show and starting to be a fix-all. Where is Alcide? Did they just drop the werewolf storyline like that with him driving back to see if his sister's hair salon is okay? Totally lame. Sam and Tara, don't care. Crystal and Hotshot, really don't care. Jason and football kid on V, okay I'm annoyed now. Thank goodness for the last few minutes again because that's all that really saved this episode for me. Hoyt and Jessica were also nice. Thank goodness they are back together because I love them and thank goodness the show avoided the "I'm not sure if I can be with you route" because I was not about to have another drawn out plot. The bits between Eric and Pam really stood out again this week. (BTW: Does anyone know what Eric's ringtone was when Pam called him?) We all know Eric isn't going to die so he has to get out of it somehow and hopefully it will be with a better death for Russell because this would be a horrible payoff for such an awesome villain. Sookeh and Beeel were once again boring this episode though one nice part was when they were talking about their "normal life" and what it would be like. Beeel and Jason fishing? haha, yes please!
I am SO over Sookie and Bill...SO over it...I fast forwarded their scenes together. Maybe I shouldn't have started reading the books because I think they are effecting my judgement of the show now...although me being over Bill has nothing to do with the book, I just don't get it, he looks constipated all the times, and in promo pics he looks like a bad vampire joke. Just get to the Eric scenes and bring Alcide back I say, the rest is crap. Oh and Sookie is a whiny little ***** compared to the book Sook, she depends on others to get her out of trouble much more than the book Sook does, she just seems much more take-charge of her life than little Miss "my life revolves around Bill" Sookie.
I've heard she is much more kick-*** in the books and I wish they would go back to that. We got a glimmer of that when she dumped Bill and was fighting Debbie and I really thought they were going to make a change at least for a few episodes but NO! They had to ruin it right away with that lame makeup sex after the fight and in the shower the next morning. I just groaned when they ran to each other. Give me a break. Can we really not have a few episodes where Sookie is taking charge and doesn't rely on anyone to get her out of trouble? Half the time her response to danger is to scream and hope someone hears her (see: lame werewolf bar plan to get info). She doesn't need to get with Eric, Alcide, Sam or anyone else for me to be happy, she just needs to stop whining about her one true loooove (who she has only known for a few months BTW) and move on already. Another thing I was really disappointed with is how they handled Russell's TV announcement. There was NO backlash. They had some news clips and it was mentioned for a hot second but wouldn't the world be freaking the **** out if they saw that? I mean look at the real life reaction to the proposed construction of a Muslim community center? I think there would be much more revolt than a cross burning and some graffiti if they all saw someone get their spine ripped out on national television. That would have been a much more interesting story line than a devil baby, a bad V trip or a QB using V. Hopefully the season finale will make up for things and at least set up a promising season 4.
I'm bummed that Alcide is missing. I really thought the werewolves but be a big part of season 3, not come and go. I do hope the season finale is great. From what I heard, season 4 sounds bit promising...

Nothing spectacular in the finale. That is the thing with True Blood, the buildup is usually good and the season finales are always deflating - at least in my opinion. If the season would have ended with Bill throwing Eric into the cement, I would have probably been more excited as that would have been the way to end things, but instead they had to spend another 15 minutes tying up loose ends and it felt tacked on after the fact (and they didn't even get all the loose ends.) Overall, an interesting season but the back and forth between Bill and Sookie is starting to wear on me (she loves him, whoops, he betrayed her, she loves him, whoops he betrayed her, she loves him, whoops he betrayed her...) Quick notes:

I hope Sam really shot and killed his brother so he won't come back next season.
Tara is moving to a new life. Great! Maybe she'll join NASA on a 3 year mission to Mars. One can only hope...
Ok, so Hoyt's mom is going to shoot Jessica and then she'll kill her...right? Gosh, who do they have writing this stuff? I hope it isn't that obvious.
Jason character needs new life although I guess he is forever doomed to werepanther world.
I don't really care about fairies so the ending with Sookie going to fairy land, didn't do anything for me.
The whole thing with burying Russell in cement immediately made me think of Austin Powers. "We could just stake you now, but that would be too easy, muhuahahahahaaha!"
I was really disappointed with this finale and most of this season also. The beginning half had promise but I think the season really went down after mid-way. Alcide and the wolves just disappeared only for him to come back to make googly eyes Sookeh and drive a cement truck. Whoop-ti-doo. I'm sure he will be back next season but the promise of werewolves really disappointed me. Did we really need that scene with Terry? It's not like we would forget that Terry and Arlene had the demon child if they cut that out. It was totally unnecessary and a time suck for more interesting story lines. Deborah Ann Woll was horribly underused this season. They promised a Pam/Jessica mentorship relationship but that amounted to one covo and a phone call. Ugh. Though pretty much the only thing that did have me interested to see what it meant for next season was the shot of the doll on the floor in the Hoyt and Jessica's new place. Does that mean creepy Summer is there somewhere? Not sure but I was intrigued, plus more Hoyt and Jessica is always a good thing. The "cliffhanger" of Sookeh going to fairyland was a total buzz kill. Why would I care if she went there since the only cool thing you have shown me about fairies are the "light hands". Fairyland was pretty lame and fairies seem like their only good use is as Vamp food. Horrible way to end and Sookeh really does run weird doesn't she? Or is that just me? Russel's off was pretty lame too but I did enjoy his bits all charred up with Sookeh, particularly the scene when she dumped Talbot down the drain. I'll tune in next season but if I don't like where it's going by episode 3, I'm out. Bye, Tara! Hope to see you never!

I'm starting to like this show.
Yeah it was a total let down, and now that I have read the books, the show is no where as good as it once was. The doll in the house really creeped me out, I thought I saw it kinda moving and the when Jessica squealed when Hoyt picked her up, I thought it was the doll, LMAO, I was thinking the house is going to end up being haunted or something, I didn't even link the doll to Summer, LOL. I am thinking that Hoyt's momma is going to end up shooting him, not Jessica...Unless she goes to borrow some wooden bullets from Jason. Best part of the show...The "Uncle Daddy" comment in Hotshot and the dress that the Queen had on at the end.
The season 3 finale was such a letdown. It seemed like just another episode of True Blood. I was expecting alot more from a finale.
