Another great episode. With most shows, I often think to myself, "I could write this" but that is not the case with True Blood. Amazing acting and great scripts.
So, does Sookie get with another Vamp (i.e. Eric) or a werewolf because of Bill's betrayal? (even though he is doing it to save her...)
Well I know the basics of what happens in the books but they have deviated enough from the series that it may not turn out the same way, so I'm not sure.
The only thing bothering me with this season is that there are really way too many story lines and big characters. I think they have been able to handle it better in the previous seasons because a lot of the characters were going in similar directions or at least interacted with each other while on their own journey, but they just seem to be moving further and further apart with each episode.
For me it's become more noticeable this season especially when some people that I enjoy get a short scene or two (Pam, Jessica, Hoyt...even Sookie didn't get that much screen time). Hopefully they can kind of tie some stories together because I think way too much time is being spent on Arlene's pregnancy that could be better used elsewhere, like on Jessica dealing with being alone as a new vamp and her relationship with Hoyt.
Also, did anyone else think Alcide and Sookie's "plan" was horrible? Let me dress ******, cozy up to ***** were's, hope the ******** guy is involved with Bill's kidnapping. Then while he is trying to have sex with me I might be able to read his mind and hopefully he will tell me really important information! I will escape unharmed by screaming and starting a fight in a were-bar!. Yeah, perfect plan. Why didn't they just have Alcide talk to guys/ask questions then have Sookie sit safely in a corner and try to read their minds to see if they knew anything/were telling the truth? Seems much safer and smarter to me!
Also, did anyone else think Alcide and Sookie's "plan" was horrible?
Agreed. It was a horrible plan. Honestly (even though Sookie is my favorite) I was more engaged with the other storylines, especially Sam's contact with family and the tragic back story of Bill.
I am sure there will be a confluence of characters via a key story point in the near future.
Haven't chimed in in awhile, but I'm glad to see so much True Blood love!
Season 3 has been SOLID so far. Glad to finally see Alcide on the scene. Season 3 has already diverted from Book 3...but it'll be interesting to see the show's interpretation.
They need to stop making Tara so annoying. I used to like her...but now I'm wavering. Franklin Mott is going to be quite interesting though!
So when are we going to get the spin-off of the "Eric & Alcide Show"? It could even be a lame buddy cop show and I'd still dump True Blood for it. :D
I am down, I get Were-fever from Alcide, he is sexy!

Ita, I just wannt ***** slap her now...really really hard.
On a side note, does Franklin remind anyone else of a scrawny Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson)?

Looks like we have this to look forward to with Alcide :)

I'm hoping the storyline with Franklin will make Tara more tolerable and give her something to do besides sulk about her horrible life. I can see the resemblance to Rowan Atkinson especially since he's older now but I'll always see Forney from Where the Heart Is when I look at him.
Worst part of last night, when Alcide says "Well, at least let me go put on a shirt." Whaaaat?! Why would you want to do that? Worst. Idea. Ever.
Also, I am getting bored with Sam's family something different needs to happen besides them being poor and creepy. Sam's mother has yet to shift so hopefully there is an interesting reason for that.
Franklin is a psycho and I kind of love it.
Need more Jessica please! Luckily there was quite a bit of Eric to even it out. He even had the best line of the night with "Let's go RuPaul." :D
Really enjoyed this weeks episode, I kinda felt like it was missing somethin though. Not enough Jessica and Pam perhaps?
I thought it was a really good episode, there was one part in particular that made me more excited for the rest of the season, but I don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't read the books (or recaps like me...I couldn't resist).
I am in love with Tara and Franklin...they are pure comedic gold in my book!
This was the best episode in awhile. Especially Eric the Viking and Sookie "Tesla" Stackhouse. Good stuff.
Really? Maybe I will have to watch it again but I really wasn't feeling this episode. Why is Jessica only a waitress at freaking Merlottes this season? They are seriously underusing her. And I love Lafayette and Jesus is totally dreamy but do we really have time for another love interest this season and Jason too?
I think my problem with this season is that I like all of the subplots but there are just so many that the show feels choppy and like nothing gets accomplished with each episode. I wish they had picked half of them and saved the others for next season.
Worst part of the episode, when Franklin said he was going to make Tara a vamp I screamed "NOOOOOOO!!" because unless they make some major changes in her character it means I will have to do with her annoying butt for eternity! Plus, once she is a vamp she will get super cocky which would be the worst thing to mix with her wallowing in self pity and shivering from fear that we are treated to now. Ugh, no thank you Franklin but you can keep being your crazy *** self because that is pretty fun!
Best parts, Tara getting tackled by ****** and I guess shirtless Alcide.

you guess?!?!? just you guess?!?! He is friggin HOT, all rugged and manly like...I'd hit that, LMAO.

Oh don't get me wrong, I LOVE Alcide, but I was just kind of sad that I couldn't think of any real story plot that made me excited. It's like they need to put in shirtless Jason and Alcide to distract us from some lameness plot wise. :(
I still love this campy, fun mess but I just wasn't feeling this week. Hopefully all these different stories will come together soon with a decent payoff. I just don't want another Maryanne situation where things last for too long and Sam's family story in particular is hitting that point. Just get to it already! It's the same thing with them every week without any movement.

I was very annoyed with the whole Maryann drama as well, but to me this was a great episode. Sookie used her powers, they introduced a new pivitol character to the upcoming story lines, and they had one of the best quotes (I have repeated it many times since I saw it when busting into my house after work. LOL)... "you're ****** MY wolf in MY house *****!" hahaha, it was great. And then to see Eric and his history with the wolves...I don't know how it came across to you, but to me it looks like Eric is fixing to go through a hell of a lot of mixed emotions (and outbursts) when it comes to working with the King who killed his family...but he has to in order to save Pam.
And as always, I welcome all the shirtless Jason and Alcide moments we can get.
I think that was the best episode of the whole series!
I enjoy just about every episode, but I'm really only interested in what is happening with Sookie, Bill and Eric. The rest of it to me at this point is filler and this episode had a lot of filler...
Jason's storyline = boring and predictable.
Sam's storyline = boring and predictable.
Lafayette's storyline = boring and predictable.
Tara's storyline = I stopped caring season 1.
Jessica's storyline = She has a storyline?
Werewolves = Who cares? Not me...
The more time they spend away from Sookie, Bill and Eric in a given episode, the less I like that episode.
That said, next week could be a turning point for the season.
There is more to one or two of thise story lines that you have written off as boring and unpredictable, but I am not sure it is enough to rope you in, LOL.
So, B...Best buddy best pal...think you can get me a good screen shot of Alcide when he was naked? I would love you forver and ever...well not that I don't already but you know what I mean :D

Check your PM's! ;)
I liked last episode and can't wait for the next it. It looks crazy intense and I'm kind of scared for Sookie! Russell is turning out to be a great villain, can't wait to see what he has ahead and hopefully he can top last season's baddie ;). I agree Stacee, not all of those storylines are boring. Although the Bill-Sookie and Eric storylines make up the main part of the show, I do feel that some of the other storylines really add something, while others are just fillers. Jason's storyline seems like there's alot more to it from what I heard. I do like most of the Sam and Jason storylines, as they are among my favorite characters. I think it's great that they introduced Sam's family this season. Alcide is really starting to be one of my favorites, and I think he'll play a big part in the main storyline.
Stacee have you read the books?
I loved last night's episode! I think it's the best one this season! I really did not expect some of the things that happened.
So glad that Sookie stakes Lorena, Alcide kills ****** and the Magister dies. I didn't like the Magister since the Bill Compton trial, so was hoping someone would kill him off :D.
Agreed! I was happy with all of those developments! Some trimming down was necessary and I think they made some good moves last night. Plus, I'll always love a good and bloody episode though that Sookie dream sequence was a little odd and I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet but it definitely has me intrigued.
From Sokkie's dream sequence, I think Claudine and the others are fairies or at least look like it. I wonder why fairies would want Sookie with them. Hopefully they shed more light on this whole situation soon.
Here's 2 sneak promos for tomorrow's episode:

After that second video, I think there's going to be something going on with Tommy, Hoyt and Jessica.

I just got to watch the last episode and I loved it! It started off a little slow but the last 15mins really made up for it!
We finally got some Jessica and Hoyt. The scene between Eric and Pam where he basically told Pam she is ready to be a new mommy was probably the best of the night.
How amazing has Dennis O'Hare (Russell Edgington) been this season though? He only got a few scenes last night but I think he stole the show. First crying over Talbot goo, then the crystal urn (fabulous!) and that final scene? Delicious! "And now for the weather. Tiffany?" Haha, he had me rolling.
Is it very bad of me that I thought Tommy was going be caught by Sam doing the nasty and making a ruckus with his mother? I was really convinced they were going to go there and make Sam's family even more twisted. Thank god they didn't!
I'm really over Crystal by the way. We have had very little indication of what she is for me to care at all about her and her flip flopping. Also, no Alcide this week? BOOOO!
So I just saw the new True Blood cover for Rolling Stone and OMG! I think I just fell out. Here is a link because I don't even know if I can post it here. Needs Less Sookeh | Dlisted

I saw that and about DIED, ASkars looks soooo ****** good! Anna and whats his face look good too, but I think it should have been Eric, Sookie and Alcide though...Bill gets on my nerves now for some reason.
I am on the fourth book right now of the Sookie Stackhouse Novels, they are really good and pretty quick and easy to read, I can't wait to see how the show interprets the fourth book.
Or Eric, Pam/Jessica and Alcide! :D
So is the show basically doing season 1=book 1, season 2=book 2 and so on with little changes here and there? I've heard the books are pretty decent and easy reads too. I'll probably start them once the season is done.
