I have never EVER been on the edge of my seat as much as I was tonight watching this finale!!! I cried and I laughed. BEST FINALE EVER!!!! :)
You laughed? You sadist.
Unless you laughed in the first 5 minutes, then that's ok :D
Not even exagerating, that was seriously the best two hours of television I have EVER seen. SOO glad that they didn't leave with a cliffhanger though because I would have been dying all summer!
I missed the first 5 minutes. What happened?

Meredith told Christina she was pregnant, and they hugged it out. And Alex hit Lexie in the nose.
Definitely just the first 5 minutes...I promise :)
It's back!!!!!!!! Oh, Grey's never ceases to amaze me. I think it was a great start of the season, but I don't know if it's a good sign that I've already cried twice and the previews almost made me tear up. I don't really know how I like it playing out yet, with all the personality changes, but I'm sure they'll come around. Did anyone else have a flash in their head of Titanic when Christina was walking down those stairs and then the camera panned Owen?
Overall I would say it was a great start to hopefully a great season.
Omg it starts here in an hour and 10 minutes! I am SO pumped!
I'm just about to turn it on and I'm keeping low expectations for now. Grey's Anatomy usually starts slow and I wasn't really feeling the previews being it looked like a major focus in the first episode is the last episode (and I don't like episodes that dwell in the past that are flashback heavy.)
Of course, I've been a glass half empty viewer with this show for some time, so don't mind me...
p.s. Anyway, I'll save my thoughts until you've seen it. :D
Alrighty then.
The premiere reminded me of one of those mid season episodes back in the late 90's where they didn't have the budget to put together a full show, so they used clips from episodes that already aired to fill the scenes as the cast sat around and reflected...
And then there were the big plot twists!
Shonda: "Looks like our Derrick as chief storyline has run its course. Hmm, what to do, what to do?
Random Intern 1: "He quits!"
Shonda: "He quits? We've already gone down that road."
Random Intern 1: "No, no, he does not quit his job, job. He quits the position of chief! He is kind of crazy after the shooting and becomes a compulsive speeder who happens to know all 1300 police officers in Seattle so they never charge him, but they do throw him in a jail cell that looks straight from Mayberry so Meredith can toss disapproving looks through the bars."
Shonda: "Sounds plausible. Done. Now, how does everyone feel about marrying Christina and Owen just so we can have a season opening wedding to tease?"
Random Intern 2: "I looooooove weddings and we can have Cristina regret it all season while Teddy hovers, right?"
Shonda: "Exactly! Now that the major plot lines are settled, we need to work on details."
Random Intern 1: "How about we make Alex an ***** again?"
Random Intern 2: "Can we put Meredith in a room with a psychologist this year too? Everyone loves Meredith in a room with a psychologist!"
Shonda: "Done and done. New record! We put together the entire script in five minutes. Ok, on to Private Practice..."
Well, as much as I hate to admit it.... (;)) I do agree with pretty much everything Bacchus said.
C'mon, we're in Season 6 now, and this is what we get? A regression to old storylines and behaviours? And the Christina / Owen "marriage" could not have been more forced. I expected more.
I am a loyal fan to this show, so it's not like I'm going to stop watching it after all this time, but in the words of Bacc's favorite character Meredith Grey, this is all I have to say:
Seriously, Shonda Rhimes? SERIOUSLY ?
I'm two minutes in and had to hit pause.
Cristina is regretting the marriage and Meredith isn't cleared by the Psychologist.
Yup, they are going down the absolute obvious road. If you think it is too obvious, that is the script.
I might just hit delete right now and call it a great show that died. I'd still think fondly of it rather than go down this death road.
The writing at this point is pedestrian and a 3rd grader could figure out what is going to happen next, if they started watching this series, one minute, fifty-nine seconds ago...
What! Cristina gives the ring back in episode two? Drag that s*** out! I'm confused. This can't be happening! I thought they were locked by the stars, foreeeeeeeeeeeever! Destiny.
On a more serious note, this episode had its moments. Enough to just keep me hooked with some very thin wire...
Edit: Kevin McKidd worked in Rome, as it was supposed to be over the top. He doesn't work here.

I'm either too into the show to predict stuff or I have the mentality of someone younger than a 3rd grader ;)
I liked tonights episode. I'm not the biggest Owen/Christina fan, so I'm happy where that went tonight. I want something really major to happen though. Even if they did another "Bomb" episode or another Ferry Boat crash, I wouldn't care. Maybe Derek can crash his car or something. Meredith even mentioned that one. They should go with that.

Come on fabulous, you had to know the Christina/Owen marriage was going to last about a New York minute. The only reason there was a wedding was to start the season off with a "bang." Shonda, in essence, played us.
The surprise was that it fell apart quicker than even I could have predicted!
(That is what I was alluding to when I said it was all too predictable.)
Of course, Sandra Oh is an amazing actor so I put aside my negative attitude and just watched the show, which was good.

Could Meredith be in the passenger seat and forget to put her seatbelt on?
p.s. Yes, I know I am all too cynical when it comes to this show, yet keep on watching so I really don't have anything to say for myself, lol.

I hate getting played. I was actually shocked the marriage went on in the first place, but I guess you could tell it was never really meant to be. And Sandra Oh is an amazing actor. Seriously!

I would rather it be a head on collision with Teddy and possibly that one girl April. I'm not sure how they could arrange that, but I'm wishing that will be the case.
I guess I would have to admit that Grey's has gone down from what it used to. It used to be so great. :( Although I'm not saying I don't like it anymore because I do. I just miss more than enough characters. I miss George and of course Denny (I even liked him when he didn't really exist). Also I wish they would do another Addison cameo because I miss her as well.
Losing Addison, Izzy and George was devastating to this show. Izzy was probably my favorite character on the show and Addison wasn't far behind. Heck, I watch Private Practice for a couple years just because she was on it (although that series fizzled with me.)
George was the comic relief, which now seems sorely lacking.
