Damn. Massive fail. Thanks for clearing it up. Still a morally bankrupt show but at least it's not produced by Chester the molester.
Not funny and don't always believe the tabloids. Back to reality, now, those ratings stink. Like up the ainty on the promotion, man.
They need to cast a better group of people. Also I know this isn't a big deal but I liked it a lot more when there were like 15 challenges with 30 min episodes rather than 9 challenges with 1 hour episodes. I loved gauntlet 3 but I wish it was 30 min episodes. They should do 1 season a year with 15-16 challenges a season so they don't run out of ideas. Also they need to work on the challenges because some are getting blah. Like the "I'll be there for you" challenge on fresh meat 2. I feel some of these challenges are kinda boring to watch. Not saying they aren't difficult but I wanna see something interesting. Also I love eliminations that are physical because they are so intense, especially when the two competitors are tough and want to stay in the game very bad. Hopefully for season 20 the challenges are much more intense and entertaining to watch. Also I feel the fall challenges that air in spring/summer don't do so good since its nice out and everyone likes to go out. If they just filmed summer challenges and aired them in like winter I think they would do good since no one is going to go out during the winter, unless you live in a warm climate.
I agree with the fact that they have to cast a better group of people. I think the Ruins let down a lot of people to the series because, although it started off with a bang, the second half of the season was the worst thing to watch. Ever. The challenger team was the worst team ever. Brad was the best competitor by far, and he doesn't even make my top 15 male competitors list. They keep casting idiots who are terrible at the game (like Casey) who they think add a sense of humor to the show, but they destroy it. I like drama and comedy as much as the next person, but what happened to under the table alliances like the ones in Inferno 2 and Gauntlet 2? The casting is set up to provide drama instead of decent competition, which is what I want to see. I believe this is why people aren't watching. Bring CT and Abram back. They have both competition and drama. And so what if they get kicked off for fighting? They rock in everything they do, and blow JEK out of the water.

I think the cast members who'd get physically harmed would care about that.
But I do agree with you on casting choices being redundant.

I see your point to a certain degree, but everyone who goes on these challenges should expect a certain amount of danger. They're playing for real money, and since day one, there has been fighting. I also think that if they were to choose better casts with less personal background and better competition level, there would be less fighting and better shows.
I think they should just do away with the challenges... They're getting repetitive and aren't as fun as the old seasons used to be. If they are going to keep them on, they should at least only have one on a year so that way more people would want to go on and they could have bigger casts and more variety.

I agree. I don't want to be mean, but this **** is stupid. Paula, Kenny, and the gang for Gauntlet 4 *snore*

Real World Road Rules Challenge
- 1.060 million viewers
- 0.8/1 HH
- 0.7/2 A18-49
Next episode will be I predict one of the best of the season, ratings wise.
Evelyn vs. Wes in exile. That'll bring home the bacon for MTV I hope.
It's the fact that they don't show one rerun. They either have faith that The Real World won't go anywhere, or they want to screw it into the ground.
Don't you think that if they weren't showing reruns, that more people would tune in to the show?
The ratings have nothing to do with reruns.
But reruns draw viewers in, and if they see it and like what they see, then they will tune into the new episodes...at least, that's how I get started with TV shows XD

Yeah,my first episode was a re-run of The Inferno 2 on the episode that Tonya threw Beth's clothes in the water. And ever since I have been sucked in and continued watching!

I don't know, maybe more opportunities to grab an audience. Some Joe Blow might stumble on the show, watch a rerun, say "I like this. I'm going to watch it."
And then watch the show every week?

The less reruns they show, the lower the ratings get. I don't think it has anything to do with the season getting worse, because IMO it's not.
Like the other poster said, when they show reruns, they might pull in other audiences. That's why I think they should show the reruns after the Hills/City.
I agree, with the Duel 2 and Ruins, they would show reruns like around 4, 7, and 11pm and I don't see much with FM2.
Is MTV purposely doing this? :new_shocked:

I don't believe they're doing it on purpose at all. I'm afraid it's because they don't consider the series to be a priority to them anymore. I'd bet you anything they couldn't give two **** about the show and its fans.

Yup they are heading more and more towards Jersey Shore. (Yup that rhymed.)

The show's problems don't stem from under-exposure. Probably everyone in world or at least the US who owns a TV has heard of the Real World. They just have an idea in their head what it is, and they don't like it, so they don't watch. That's a marketing problem.
Maybe they should see if Adam Lambert and Crystal Bowersox are available for their final season.
