What Could Be Done to Improve the Challenges?

It depends on how gender neutral the contests are. I believe one suggestion made by the girls during the laser tag mission was they have a cooking contest to see how well the boys would do then.
Yeah, but if you make the contests really gender neutral, a lot of the physical aspect of the game will be lost.
It depends on what it is. A large percentage of the endurance missions in both BOTS were won by the women, in particular Ruthie or Ellen on the 1st BOTS. Strength missions would certainly go to the guys. But dexterity or agility or coordination missions could go either way.
What about "smarts" missions, like the spelling bee on Duel 2? Edit: Ooh, and the pop culture-bike one on Bots 2!

Could you imagine some of the others though? Hilariousness.
If they had to define the word they had to spell, it would kill most of the players winning average.

It would certainly weed out most of them but you will probably have to still deal with Evan but Kenny might fall.

What did Brad get wrong on Duel 2? Crown or something?
Thron
That's horrible.
Uh, what is "thron"? Yah Evan won that challenge on D2... he went to Cornell and he's actually pretty intelligent. When he won that I thought... score one for the Canadian education system! That was a great challenge though, and the pop culture one. I really liked watching those. I would definitely like to see more challenges like that.
It was supposed to be "throne". I wonder if they would have DQ'ed him for spelling "thrown".
It was supposed to be "throne". I wonder if they would have DQ'ed him for spelling "thrown".
I was just thinking about that and maybe that's what he was trying to spell. Either way, he's wrong. I'm rewatching this one right now and it's high comedy. Brittni spelling "freight" F-R-A-T-E. Hahahahaha. MJ spelling "immaculate" with an E at the beginning, and then according to him, "sounding like a freakin' hurt donkey" on his way down. Oh man this spelling bee **** was priceless. They need to do another one. Or maybe even a math test, hahaha. How about TJ names a country and they have to locate it on a map? They did that with Charles Barkley on TNT a few years back and it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Yah something geography based would be good... I know it's not the Amazing Race but still... a lot of these competitors have traveled to various places around the world doing these challenges so they should have some basic geography knowlege. Along those lines, I liked the challenges where they had to remember things about past challenge/RW/RR seasons/cast members. Those are good.
I also would love a BOTS 3 or another Battle of the seasons. I would really like to see different missions too. remember the strip trivia game in BOTS 1. Wicked funny. And why not let the viewers pick the teams for the next challenge? kinda like they did in the pit, but who ever gets the most votes gets to be on the show. Or we could vote the two people from each team that we want to see in the inferno/duel/gauntlet. And PROMOTE it.
They won't get another BOTS due to a rights issue. They do need to do better promotion though. They need to change things up and introduce missions where dexterity and brains are more needed than strength or endurance. This would be a balancing factor that is needed. I've said it before that they need to keep things fluid so there is no set group that can maintain a hold on the game.
To improve the ratings just rerun them a lot. That's the reason I got into the show. I'd get home at 3 o clock from school and see the last three episodes rerun. It gets people into the show that don't just tune in at the time it's at.
I actually totally agree with that... I only started watching in the first place because of re-runs. Specifically "marathons" where they showed whole seasons in a day or weekend. You get stuck in that way and have to see what happens next.
Mark Long as host would be amazing. He did a great job co-hosting Battle of the Seasons, which was a great Challenge...the first one I ever watched regularly. That Sidekick Showdown was one of the most hilarious Challenge moments ever. Coral beating the Miz over the head with the cards, Timmy yelling out "NOSEPICKING!" and "FREAKISHLY THE SAME!". Still cracks me up. They need more silly missions like that. The spelling bee on Duel 2 was a step in the right direction.
Pretty much anyone other than TJ would be great to host a future Challenge. I don't really have anything against him but changing things up a bit is always appreciated. I sorta wish he had been the mystery replacement partner for Luke. That might have been horrifically awesome.
get Mark Long to be the host. He's done it once before and did great plus he knows what they are going through mentally.
On the next FM (if there is one), put the Alumni through a combine, too. Then rank them, and pair the worst Alumnus with the best Fresh Meat, and the best Alumnus with the worst FM, and so on. I think that would be a random twist, because then there's no "strong" team!

that really is a good idea or Real World and Road Rules vs Freshmeat on a Challenge called The Gauntlet 4 ?
I don't think they'll ever make a "freshmeat" team.
Originally Posted by Moonpaw On the next FM (if there is one), put the Alumni through a combine, too. The challenges were better when it was more about gameplay, strategy, etc. and not just who is the strongest. They need to do more challenges that don't involve brute physical strength. Go back to the types of challenges that were done during The Inferno and The Gauntlet. The challenges are becoming too much like Survivor. The main problem I think is casting in RW/The Challenges. They cast too many generic sterotypical americans. Fake blond girls and muscular frat guys. It's so boring. They should cast more on personality and less on physical appearence. I noticed this mainly with the Fresh Meat. The other problem with casting is that for the challenges they are casting the same annoying people like nobody likes nor cares about. Evelyn, Paula, Evan, Kenny, Johnny, etc. At least the previous challenge regulars like Veronica, Coral, Katie, Mike, etc. were entertaining. These guys are just plain annoying. Also, get a new host. TJ Lavin is boring as hell. Get someone who is more energetic and funny. They should do a challenge like in Nara, Osaka, or Kobe (Japan). And have challenges that are crazy 'Japaneese game show-esque'. That would be fun. With a really cool, modern house.
First and foremost... Coral should be on every challenge. Second, the casting for FM2 is laughable. Same with Real World. So it's like the challenges have to go back to the same people because they've been casting lame people in general. So, step up the casting. Third, old school vs. new school needs to happen. I really don't understand why it hasn;t yet in the first place. Bringing back the REAL vets against the newer cast would be amazing and so throwback that people would want to watch.

To be honest I think her era has come and gone. plus I would get sick of her. Your second point....I agree with you. They need to start casting INTERESTING people who will shake things up and not be afaid to think for themselves and make moves on their own terms. ENOUGH WITH THE BORING BLAND FOLLOWERS! Thirdly..I really don't think that they can do and old school vs new school I mean most of the older castmembers and challege veterans of yesterday have moved on with their lives. So I would think it would be hard to get a team of veterans together.
It depends on the veterans. In other places on this site, it was discussed how some were never called to do a Challenge despite being interested.

They need to be getting as many diffrent castmembers as they can and not just JEK and all their Idiot friends.
