What Could Be Done to Improve the Challenges?

Ok, let's break down the number of FM there have been on each challenge since its premiere. The Duel: Casey, Diem, Easy, Evan, Kenny (5/20) The Inferno 3: Evelyn & Kenny (2/22) The Gauntlet 3: Casey, Diem, Evan, Kenny, Ryan, Ev, Easy (7/33) The Island: Ev, Kenny, Ryan (3/20) The Duel 2: Evan, Easy, Ryan, Diem (4/26) So, honestly, they haven't been "taking over" Challenges. Yes, it seems repetitive seeing the same people from FM over and over again, but it'd be boring even if they'd been on a season (see: Paula, Johnny, soon to be Dunbarf) so being on FM shouldn't be an excuse for why they're detracting from challenges.
I think the best thing that could be done to help improve the challenges would be to have all the Real Worlders go to my youtube channel: YouTube - ScottHermanFitness's Channel They will learn some great fitness tips there and be able to last longer and fight harder!
haha Scott! Nice plug.
haha thanks salt&vinegar
I actually just check a couple of the vids out. They're really funny! I hope you do a challenge soon.
They have asked me to do the last two, but I turned them down. I am flying out to LA first week of September. I am up for the lead for a new HBO show. Very exciting! :)
That is really good! I can't say that I blame you for picking an HBO show over challenges. Congrats and good luck.

I mean, other than the fact that the FM didn't have a RW/RR season, I can't think of one characteristic that the FM have but NONE of the RW/RR alumni don't
Thanks!!
Yeah Scott, as much as I like you, I'd rather you pick HBO than a challenge. :)
Congrats Scott!! I'll be sure to check out your channel!
Me too! Thanks for the support Lamb Chop!!!
Key word being they wouldve been on Austin or KW. Meaning they didnt make the cut, they werent good enough. The only one who was supposed to be on Key West but turned it down was Evan, thank god he wasnt on that show, he wouldve ruined that season too. True casting for the shows wasn't that great but Fresh Meat are the kids who weren't good enough to make Austin and Key West two very weak casts in my opinion already. So basically FM are the bottom of the barrel and thus they poision every challenge where theres 100 of them on which seems to be every single challenge.
I. Love. You. You are my new favortie poster.
Theo and Evan both are not funny. I didnt read the whole thread since its 40 pages long but I think the main thing that could be done to improve challenges is ban any and every Fresh Meat castmember from coming back. It was a novel idea that shouldve been done only on their season. These people are not from Real World or Road Rules, thus they should not have the privelage of being on anymore challenges besides the one that was intended for them. Every season they take an interesting person's spot and they all ban together and vote off people who are more valuable to these shows then they are. Ban them and let's give some actual Real World and Road Rules castmembers a chance to prove themselves. Who knows with the extra spots that the FM's would leave maybe we could get old schoolers back on these things.
I agree with this post so damn much it HURTS.

After the FM2 premier, I thought I'd add some more input to this thread. I think one of the biggest problems is MTV is forgetting this is a CHALLENGE and not just a big party. In the Ruins/FM2 the cast a lot of big dogs like Landon, Darrell, Wes, Kenny, Evan. However, they are having less challenges in a season which is making the shows less entertaining. Also, the teams much challenge each other. On the Ruins, the Challengers stood no chance. They made a team of proven winners and put them against proven losers. Of course the losers are going to lose. Also, they need to play repeats a lot more. During the first 2 episodes, they show a lot of repeats. After that, they show very few. I started watching these challenges because I could not avoid Battle of the Sexes, and that's how they are going to pick up new viewers. They need to play repeats around the most popular shows on MTV and play the occasional marathon. I think the challenges may be down, but they're not out. They can be saved and turned back into popular shows.

That's why I watch the show, that's why I watched Road Rules and never really cared about The Real World. And that's partially why, despite the lamer cast, FM1 was better--for every elimination, there were two challenges.

they maybe want to conserve their ideas for future challenges?

The competition is their main goal but, seeing them wasted and playing makes them so much more real. Taking a break from competion to see a drunken Tonya slap veronica is crucial in making the challenge funny and more unpredictable

Especially because that's important to understanding part of the competition (why a competitor was eliminated). Things like that, and arguments that lead to rivalries should be shown...it's just that they show them partying every episode, and often there's nothing more to it than the partying. Keep that **** for the dailies.
I think everyone is right. The Challeneges need to focus on the challenges more than the fights and drunks but its why people watch the show to see someone get hit or to see an arguement. I get what you guys are trying say so they need to show less of what happenes in the house of the challenges and more of the challenge itself. The Gauntlet 2 to me was the perfect challenge, one each team they had strong players, even and on the challenges before the Gauntlet 2.
1) Have better casting 2) Stop inviting the same boring people 3) Don't have lopsided teams or terrible formats 4) Have better casting
agreed and bringing back old challeneges that were fun and silly not serious and hard. bring back Johny Moseley or dave mirra, bring back Coral and Julie.
agreed on bringing back the old format - 15-16 challenges every season. i'm fed up with watching the cast get drunk, dancing and hooking up. That's CHALLENGE, they have Real World for all this stuff
Bring back the fun and silliness... I liked watching when people got along and had love for each other. There was enough good drama still without it being contrived.
Bring in the Jersey Shore cast, just for lulz.
I love this thread! I enjoy all of the drama that goes along with the drinking and hooking up. The Ruins was my favorite challenge since The Gauntlet 3 for that very reason. I wonder what would have happened if Veronica, Tonya, Darrell and Brad had stayed? On that particular challenge I think the fighting evened the teams up a little. I also love watching all of the extra drama that goes down on the dailies. In order to improve the challenges I would love to see evenly matched teams. There has got to be a way to make the boys NEED the girls around so that the whole show doesn't revolve around the guys trying to get rid of them. I liked the old days where the teams wanted to keep their whole teams there until the end. I understand that they are splitting money and the less people in the end, the better off they are, but there must be a way to change that aspect of the game a little. I TOTALLY AGREE that the editing can be terrible. You can tell who is going home at the beginning of each episode. It gets pretty old. Whoever said they should play the show more and bring back the marathons? I TOTALLY AGREE!! I got hooked on these shows during a marathon. That's all it takes... a rainy day and a marathon!
Get rid of TJ LAVIN, he's hosted like 10 of these things !! I mean the guy looks like a damn bum and he's so boring and says the same exact crap every season. I want to see Mark Long or Coral host ! Or wait a second what about C.T. ?!?! lol.
OOOO Mark as the host!! I love that idea. Would he be allowed to hang with them too? That would be awesome!
Dave mirra, Johhny Moseley or Coral Smith
