Dang,I sure would hate to see it end.
My only hope is that they will keep it around because of its "flagship" status within the network.
That being said, it needs to be seriously revamped.
I know the contract for real world is up to season 26. How many challenges are left in the contract?
20 and 21. 2 in total.
I don't really get that at all considering online you can have more focused advertising through custom adds (Google adds). 5$ per 1000 viewers...that's just crazy.
You may be right, but either way I'm not buying any of the doom and gloom. MTV would be a dead station to me without the RW/RR stuff.
Edit: and yeah, competing against South Park... /fail.

I was going with the high end at $5. When you go to MTV.com do you click on the ads? MTV does not get paid for you to look at Google ads being the vast majority of Google ads are CPC not CPM.
Ok...so now you know why there are not making any money off of them.
In the world of the web, most things are based on action. Cost per action. Cost per click. In television, they just want you to see the ad. They use it to position their brand in the long run. It is an entirely different model.
I think you mean Mondays. It was never on Tuesday.
That's correct. What I meant was why not make Tuesday the BMP night rather than Wednesday? But now they have a hit there with 16 and Pregnant anyway.
I think it used to be Real World on Tuesdays, and Road Rules or RW/RR Challenge (or both sometimes, as they were 30minutes) on Monday.
I think what they need to do is make the challenges how they used to... I'm not going to get into the whole "kick Fresh Meat off" because I understand they're most likely here to stay... BUT I think the challenges did better when there was only one a year (or at least rotated with Road Rules).
I think they will finish up the current contract and that is it. So RW: NO, Challenge, RW: Wherever, Challenge. The end.
The ratings are horrific.
They should build a little next week if they get a lot of replay viewers and enhance the audience, but clearly people are moving on to even trashier offerings...
Wouldn't it be RW NO, Challenge, RW where, Challenge, RW where again (season 26), Challenge. Then end?

Wow, just when I thought there was no future for Colie on reality television! Especially now that people want trashier television!
(praying she doesn't read this)

..Or what they can do is make a challenge where the winner isn't John, Kenny, Evan, and/or Derrick. I mean how many times can people really watch them win?
Let's face it. these challenges now are redundant and Boring. they need to switch things up. Interesting things need to start happening and I think one of the reasons why the challenges haven't done that well as of late is because the SAME THINGS keep happening over and over again. Most of the people that do challenges regularly aren't that interesting. they don't have anything Interesting or original things to say. Nobody takes things into their own hands and just allows the same people to control the game. I mean when was the last time you saw people who were on the outs of the main Alliance take out the people who are controling the game on these shows? And the Drama is lacking aswell. I mean do people really care about KellyAnne and Dunbar arguing about wether they had sex or not?
The challenges are lacking alot of things that made it Exciting and Entertaining TV
and In my mind that's one of the reasons why the Ratings are slipping.
Moving the BMP stuff to Tuesday would pretty much be a worst-case scenario for me, unless they re-air on Saturday or continue to air later in the evening. Tuesday night is packed with AI & the DwtS results show (and for those I have to give up other stuff like WWE NXT and possibly baseball games which I am loathe to do already. I wouldn't mind Thursday, it's a dead night for TV for me so I usually watch my Netflix offering on Thurs.
How do advertisers even make any money these days with TV? I watch less than 5% of my programming in real-time and I would guess that is rapidly becoming the norm.
I say they bring back road rules. I doubt that the ratings can be lower then what they are now. Also, then we will have more new people. I've noticed that these challenges are starting to repeat themselves.

Y'know, this may not necessarily be a bad thing. On the one hand I keep thinking in the back of my mind, there's no way we'll see a day without a Real World. However on the other hand I feel as though it would be a welcomed sigh of relief. No more Real World or Challenges means that some of these people who have been doing this since their teens/early twenties would have to finally grow up and get real careers; no more milking the Z list dry.
Hell, could you imagine Kenny trying to get a legit office job? "Hey ****, didn't you get that memo about the new TPS reports?. Matter of fact, that would be an amazing reality show of its own...

I think it would be awesome to do a Challenge with Colie. Matter of fact, Colie, Ruthie, Coral, Evelyn, and Myself. That would be one ****** team right there.

That didn't really answer my post.. haha, but I don't want to see a world without Real World. That would be so upsetting. Not only would Kenny have to move on with his life, which we'd all like to see, but I'd have to move on with my life lol. With the show gone, my hopes of ever being on it are gone, and I wont have any TV to watch. I'll have to resort to..... I don't even know!
I just can't see mtv canceling the real world, its really one of things they are best known for. I think they should just revamp or hire new producers--so the storylines are different. I really like rw brooklyn because it was a serious season. I think bringing the show back to its orginal roots would be good, especially if they want to keep it going.

Just a heads up, but the storyline you see really depends on the post-production person and not the producers, per se.
I meant like the who boys vs girls thing and the hook ups. It makes the season boring like, dc in my opinion.
Thanks for the correction! That person must get a little lazy sometimes..lol. Especially since they have so much footage of you guys.

Are you friends with Coral and Ruthie? I know you do appearences with Ruthie, but do you know whether either of them would be interested in returning?

But thank you for saying that! I also thank the rest of Vevmo for allowing me to challenge my daughters Challenge (or lack of) abilities.
Just outta curiousity, where do you guys find the ratings?
Travis Yanan (travisyanan) on Twitter has 'em
Do guys like Kenny and Evan really have no jobs & just live off their reality television fame for income? That's kind of pathetic in an amusing way. Those guys remind me of Beavis and ******** so bad it isn't even funny... I just picture the two of them sitting on the couch together watching episodes of the challenge and laughing at each other's jokes when they make fun of people.
thanks for the ratings site guys! I'll get cara maria on here dont worry... :)
Welcome to the site! :D BTW, Cara Marie does post here also.
I think you mean Mondays. It was never on Tuesday.
Yes it was on Tuesdays.
The Real World Key West used to be on Thursdays and so did Fresh Meat.
Does anyone think the next episode will top the premier? I think/hope it will? Alot more people are liking the show now !! Keeping my fingers crossed :]
It will probably hover around the 1.5 mark the whole season just like the last few, but that will probably have nothing to do with the product. I doubt anything short of a drastic change (a.k.a jersey shore) to the show will change the ratings significantly, for good or bad. That doesn't mean this season won't be more enjoyable than the others, even if this was terrible I bet ratings would still hover around the same area as if it was applauded by us vevmoers.
