I'm surprised, it was a ****** episode. We've got four my episodes left, lets not make this the Emily and Ty show anymore please BMP.
Wait there's 14 episodes? I though twelve
Wait there's 14 episodes? I though twelve
I think it's 2 more episodes + **** they should've shown + reunion = 14. But don't quote me on that.
In the press release they said 14 episodes.
Thanks for clarifying tj, I couldn't find the press release.
So I guess they are doing the **** they should've shown and the reunion after the last 2 episodes instead of on their own week.
Yikes...
The bottom fell out. The worst rated Real World Episode ever (by quite a bit.) Of Course, DC owns most of those marks (and this is understandable with the decline of the franchise.)
Next week will be better, because of the Erika "leaving" storyline (it has been and will continue to be replayed.) This just goes to prove that ratings are based on last week.
The problem with the real world like I've said many times before is its changed so much...go back to 30 minute episodes, and pick 7 funny interesting people that like to be the center of attention..
but anyways heres how the cast could of been fixed imo:
Keep:
Mike - he's prob. the main cast member of this season & the most original gay cast member they've ever casted and its interesting to finally see a "straight-acting gay guy" on reality television something that's been absent and ignored for a long time...also the most interesting as well, he's the only reason most people I bet are still watching (including me)...
Ashley - Interesting girl, shes one of the few that makes this show seem like an actual real world season meaning shes not afraid to start and put herself into altercations where she sees wrong being done.
Andrew - What's not to like? He's entertaining as hell and prob. has the most original sense of humor to be put on this show in a long time atleast not since Isaaac...
Ty - When he's actually involved with drama he makes the show a little bit more entertaining and tolerable, throwing Andrew off the balcony is prob. the only thing that ppl are gonna remember about this season 5 years from now...
Never ever ever cast someone like this ever again:
Erika - okay maybe one episode of you missing your boyfriend back home and talking about ur depression is tolerable and can be entertaining but really? shut up and go home already
Josh - such a major deuche, usually a deuche can add ratings to a show (see John, Tyler, Wes, Brad, Adam) but this guy isn't likable at all in the least bit unlike those other people...and 2 rockers on the same season? really? horrible idea. whatever happened to 7 diverse people that usually had absolutely nothing in common besides being outgoing and crazy...thats whats missing here.
Callie - Like her but shes way to nice and common to be on the real world...
Emily - BORING, she would of been good on Road Rules/Fresh Meat though...
Yikes...

I sometimes wonder if MTV is trying to drive down the ratings as they are probably starting contract negotiations soon on renewing. The lower the ratings, the sweeter the deal for the network. When Brooklyn was on, you could see it about three or four times a day, 7 days a week for the whole season. Since then, they do not show reruns much at all. It may be a chicken or an egg argument, but if they want the show to do well, they would broadcast more reruns and run more commercials. You cannot possibly convince me that people would rather watch the same episode of 16 and pregnant 100 times as opposed to the Real World.
Why are people so against having and 8 person cast? I am actually okay with it.
Everyone got equal airtime the last episode of DC, there hasn't an episode like that in awhile on the Real World.
I'm against it because when there's 8 people, one is always left out. Who is Baya? Who is Derek? Who is Josh?
To me the problem is that an 8 person cast is too balanced. 7 or 9 would make sure there is an uneven number of boys and girls which can add to the dynamics/drama having a third wheel.
Is there ever going to be another marathon of Real World DC? I hope to go there is.
Maybe during the day tomorrow, because Wed. is the finale and the reunion, along with the Fresh Meat special airing at 12.
You can always watch it online....

MTV2 is showing 4 episodes Wednesday morning.
Or MTV.com has em all. Or MTV On Demand has some.
This will likely be my last season of making an effort to watch The Real World. If I see it I will see it. I am pretty annoyed with MTV's push toward internet content over broadcast; it seems like they put the colorful stuff online and never develop the stories on the broadcast the way they once did; and there is no predictable time to catch reruns. If the network is banking on 16 & Pregnant and the Jersey Shore to carry them through, then I think they are doomed.
I just finished reading this whole thread and it doesn't surprised me at all that this season hasn't done so well. I am a long time fan of the show who has seen every season since New Orleans, I was living in DC when this show was filmed (my apartment was about 10 blocks from the Real World house) and none of this could get me to keep watching this season after the 3rd episode.
There was something seriously wrong with the way they put together this season. At times I wondered if I had simply moved on from this show but the ratings seem to prove that I wasn't the only one who didn't like this season. This is so dissapointing.
I lived in DC fo 5 years and I always wanted the RW to be filmed there and I never thought that that would be the one season who would get the worst ratings ever. The Cancun season used to be trashed on here a lot and I personally enjoyed it 10 times better than the DC season.

For once I liked to see last week's episode on actual tv before going to MTV site. I'm dead serious.
