No offense to anyone who likes this season, but I personally find the cast to be very boring and dull. I hope that it gets better in upcoming episodes.
MTV is leading the way in the push by networks to develop web content as the main source of advertising revenue. From what I have heard, being broadcast on cable alone is a losing proposition for TV these days. I am not so sure that ratings on TV matter or will matter so much in the future as clicks on the websites, which we don't get info on.
For The Love of RayJ is beating Real World? That's a bad sign...
Keep in mind you're ranking a mid-season episode to a finale episode.

Yes considering MTV's age group they are even getting advertising through shows long over on internet viewings.

"The Real World" consistently ranks as a top-rated cable series among Persons 12-34 with each season ranking #1 in their time periods among Persons 12-34 versus basic cable competition. "The Real World: Denver," the 18th season of this reality series, ranked #1 in its time period versus the cable competition among Persons 12-34. For the season, "The Real World: Denver" reached more than 97.5 million unique viewers on MTV, with more than 44.4 million viewers from the core Persons 12-34 demographic.
I only saw the premiere and it was pretty good, is the rest of the season worth watching?
Everyone has different opinions.
Do we know how many people are watching the episodes online? Just curious.
I also think they should go back to 30 minutes formats. An hour is a large commitment for an MTV show.

I go back and forth on this. In an interview, Jon Murray indicated they went to an hour to have an A, B, and sometimes C story in a single episode. That would be great but more times than not it is a drawn out ****** A story (as in not a story worth that much airtime) and nothing really as a B or a C story. I think they could do better with an hour but the way they are doing 1/2 hour episodes would do just fine. The only episode that I can think of in recent seasons where the whole hour really worked was Ryan getting the call back to duty on Brooklyn. A 1/2 hour would make it easier for MTV to slip in repeat episodes, have more marathon weekends, and would keep the show on the air and in people's minds more days per year.
I like parts of DC and hate parts of DC. I think Andrew, Mike, and Callie are interesting people. I would like to see more or Erika and Josh. The others just sort of range from blah to cringe-worthy to me.
I love this season. Emily, Ashley, Ty, and Andrew are entertaining, in my eyes, so I don't mind them being the main focus. I think this season is a bit better than Brooklyn.
Me and this season don't really click and lately repeats have been rare for reasons unknown.
Two Words--Jersey Shore. It is an MTV developed series that has been renewed for another season so there is mo' $$$$ in it for them.

I guess so, Money rules all.
I only watch it online, it just doesn't work for me to watch it during the 10-11pm time-slot so i usually watch it the next morning when it is posted on mtv.com. i'm sure there have to be a lot more like me so i would be happy to see them somehow include the online views into the ratings numbers.
I think that hour long episodes need to go. The old 30 minute format was better, it kept peoples attention longer. I mean sure you had inconsistency with episodes like some would be very entertaining while others would have dull story lines, but still! when I watch real world now its just not the same because I always loose my attention span somewhere within the episode and change channels. Also 30 min. episodes keep the season running longer and the producers don't have to air seasons as quickly one right after another.
I liked the thirty minute episodes one oafter another like they did for sydney and Denver. I think the individual episodes left way for just one story.

I also liked it better the old way. The fact that the season was stretched out over several months made it feel like you were watching more days of their lives, more issues, and multiple moments, IMO. I felt like I was watching the cast progress with each other more. It feels like the hour episodes don't present as full of a picture to me, and I feel that's a detriment to the show. I think I would prefer if they just did two back to back 30 minute episodes, if they want the season to be quicker and have an hour time slot. Or maybe lengthen the hour episodes to 18-20 episodes overall.
Thirty minute episodes worked out a lot better. I would love to go back to them. You actually had enough time to care about the cast members as people. Now it's only twelve episodes and once the season ends you just don't care.
Also with 30 minute episodes they could add little cliffhangers at the end of the episodes like they used to be.
Longer seasons = BETTER!

I totally disagree. I don't think I could take another 20 + week season like Sydney. It was so dragged out, it was actually painful and when anything good happened they'd stick it in the last 2 minutes and then have a to be continued...which would make me want to throw things at my TV.
I'd rather have all the plot elements play out in an hour and have a shorter more concentrated season, followed by a Challenge (as it currently is set up.)

LMAO !! I don't know why that's making me laugh but it is. Thanks for the information though.
Ouch. That's quite the decrease. And nothing to blame it on this time.
I blame it on the "The Hills" and the mold it set forth.
No one cares about documentary type reality shows any more. It is all about hyper reality.
The Real World isn't interesting enough for today's youth. They need contrivance and over the top characters.
