They should just throw out the whole VR thing all together no trying to revise it lol.
I agree. It just wasn't right.
If I had to recommend any Road Rules seasons to any new fan or viewer I would recommend Road Rules Islands, because it had a very fun cast that joked around and everything and had really awesome missions... Next I would suggest Road Rules Northern Trail or Down Under, I think those seasons are the epitome of what Road Rules is all about. Semester at Sea and Latin America are good seasons if you want to add a dash of "drama" into the mix..
After all of that, THEN I would suggest seeing South Pacific.
The first 8 seasons of the show, none of the castmembers were penalized for failing a mission. It was more about an adventure than being a game show, that's why the vote-off rule was so disliked by fans because it took away from the "adventure" aspect of the show.... as for Season 9, well, that was season was just a mess.. the camera angles gave me a headache... cool season though.
Weren't they 'penalized' for failed missions by not getting cash to spend? Since they had all their cards and cash taken away at the start
You don't really hear much about Maximum Velocity Tour... it wasn't one of the vote-off seasons but no one ever really says much about it. I didn't ever see it since it wasn't included in the syndicated seasons (seasons 1-8).
Anyone watch MVT and can tell us some of the missions they did?
The first MVT mission was really cool...they walked mid-air from one hot air balloon to another hot air balloon.
MVT had a really corny gimmick called the Roadmaster, who was some actor who appeared in black and white on a TV in their RV/Shasta to tell them about missions.
MVT also had a unique style with different camera angles and split screen and etc that was just distracting.
Maximum Velocity Tour, don't get me wrong, but was a really COOL season, it wasn't boring or lame at all.. It had it's fair share of fightings and hooking-up as well.
Some notable missions off the top of my head; the Hot-Air Balloon Walk, Monster Truck Derby, The Parent-Trap game show, escaping from prison, Getting Married in 48 hours... there was a lot.
A lot of people dont know that the season had a theme, and each mission had to deal with a certain roadie's fear, like Kathryn's fear of heights, they had a mission when they had to drive an aircraft, Holly's fear of being alone, they each had to camp in the woods overnight in compete solitude.
Each mission was also categorized, there were regular missions, in which they had to complete in order to earn points toward the handsome reward, then there were jobs to earn money for their trip, and then competitions (in which they faced off against, RW9, MTV.com, a local Frat/Sorority and the Boy Band O-Town).
It was a great season, it's a shame that they haven't aired it since The Quest premiered.

and the "Playboy Extreme Team"
If MTV brought it back for one last ride, same concept as the first few seasons, but the cast was made up of Fresh Meat to basically make them pay their dues..would u watch? Same with an RW season?
does anyone know why it was cancelled
Ratings.
What were some of the best missions RR had? I liked Latin America's first mission and final mission. The first mission they had a ball and had to keep it moving till they got to the finish line. I don't remember the exact details of the final mission, but I know it involved them going to an island and having to rescue something.
Theirs one thing that still confuses me. Why can't they make another Road Rules season? I'm pretty sure a New Road Rules season would get the same ratings as Fresh Meat 2!
Don't you think?
Did anyone see Dave from Road Rules South Pacific in that MTV movie?
He still looks hot after all this time.
Oh, you mean that one guy from that one show that was in that one movie?
Yeah, I know which one you're talking about.
They should do one last season with FM there's enough to pick some I would love to see Sydney, Vinny, Pete, Evan, Sandy and Theresa be the six with Noor, Diem, Evelyn, Cara, Luke and Johnnie as the pit or better yet no pit!!!

Dave was also in that new show on ABC The Deep End.... It was on right before Greys Anatomy.... There were only like 4 or 5 episodes though.

Yes, I'd watch a Road Rules and Real World season based off that scenario. To see how they'd interact with one another as a team (for RR) to get the main prize at the end. But, I'd lose interest if they got to vote people off because it might as well just be considered a challenge. For RW, I think it'd be interesting to see how they'd deal with the fact they have to get up early to have a job, have to be around each other 24/7 without having game play be a distraction. Could they get along? Or would they hate each other's guts?
The only seasons I saw were Season 2, Campus Crawl, South Pacific, X-Treme and Viewer's Revenge. Here are my favorites.
Season Two-Timmy
Campus Crawl-Darrell
South Pacific-Abram
X-Treme-Patrick
Viewer's Revenge(Not Veteran)-David

He actually just shot a pilot for fox.
I honestly don't know what happened to this series. I never found it boring and if it got such "bad ratings" then why did they even begin the challenge series in the first place? Plus, it seems like we've had more memorable challenge "characters" from road rules than real world. Few that come to mind: Mark, Emily, Timmy, Susie, Veronica, Theo, Katie, Rachel, Darrell, Shane, Tina, Abram, Derrick, Kina, Jodi, Tori

HELL NO!!
I don't want to see ANY of the Stale Meat on Road Rules or Real World. None of them would bring anything to either show.
yeah i just want MTV to at least try again with road rules i mean just one more time would do it for me
They did try again, RR VR and it was a flop.
My favorite challenge was the Inferno. It was a great location, great cast. Coral vs. Julie, Veronica and company vs. Katie and all of the drama and a younger and calmer CT, Leah, Mallory, Holly, Christina, Kendal, and Timmy. Dave Mirra, Acapulco Mexico...the old days :)

That wasn't Road Rules. That was "we don't have any new ideas so let's do this." NO! I'm talking about old school Road Rules, no eliminations/vote offs. That's when Road Rules ratings went down.
There was SIX PEOPLE at a time in an RV DOING CHALLENGES. IT was ROAD RULES cause it was called road rules and had the same basic RULES!!!! IF THEY brought road rules back it probably still wouldn't do good!!!!

You still don't get it. That was RR with people coming in the RV, off the RV. In, out, in, out. I'm talking about classic Road Rules. For example, Road Rules Northern Trail: Anne, Noah, Tara, Roni, Jon and Dan. Plenty of drama and action and all that. No vote offs, just those 6 people. RR Semester at Sea: twist on a boat; Veronica, Pua, Pawel, Shawn, Yes, Ayanna. Veronica vs Ayanna - plenty of drama, still no voteoffs.
RR VR if it was just the new people instead of the Alumni, FINE but it wasn't. RR The Quest and RR Campus Crawl don't count as classic Road Rules.
