The Real World DC: Playboys and Proper Portions

OMG it's been too long! UPDATES FROM ME.. So far I'm bored with DC but I won't give up on it yet. It just lacks something. I mean the more "serious" tone isn't the problem, I think the dynamic is off. 1. Emily is too annoying. Girl you are def into Ty but you're trying to play hard to get. Miss "Free Bird" needs to realize that Ty is actually into her and just give it a shot. 2. TY IS HOTTTT. ok but besides that he is a bit much. When ppl claim they are outspoken thats just a forewarning that they want to let you know they are blatantly ignorant. But he seems genuine so i like him. ;) 3. Ok so are there even 8 roommates. I feel like Josh and Erika are part time roommates since they get about 30 seconds air time each. REAL WORLD needs to start getting 8 very dynamic individuals that ALL stand out. There in lies great drama and even better bonding and personal growth. 4. Bring on RW Back To New Orleans!

I don't think its boring, I just think they are focusing too much on Ty and Emily as a couple. I'm tired of hearing "I'm afree bird.." I really enjoyed the conversation about the body issue.

I felt bad, and hated Emily's free bird *** for being so weird.
I don't think its boring, I just think they are focusing too much on Ty and Emily as a couple. O and why is "free bird" the quote of the season lol. Just saying
I think Emily and Ty are both interesting people...but I hope the producers don't over do it (like they did with the Jonna/Jasmine/whatshisface drama from last year, ugh). Emily is a REALLY interesting cast member to me...especially considering her background. Ty as well. Both may be overcompensating just a little bit...but whatever. I'm interested to see what happens next. If The Real World is going to continue with the 8-person format, they need to start giving camera time to all 8. Who the hell is Josh? It's been 3 episodes and we've seen nothing so far! I don't think anyone should be given the Baya Treatment. Interested to see more of both Josh and Erica. Ty's comment to Callie was ludicrous. Someone needs to teach the boy some tact. Callie is gorgeous, imo. It was sad to see her so self-conscious, but her feelings are definitely a reality for girls and women everywhere.
Why cast for 8 roommates if you're only going to show 5 or 6? Tsk, tsk BMP.
Well we haven't exactly watched the whole season so far. Erika will definately be getting more screen time and josh has an interesting backstory that I think will come into play this season so I think in the coming 9 or so episodes we will see more of them.
I say cast 5 people that still a good dynamic. Then save the other 3 to......dare I say it make ia good FM season but I do like 7 strangers but I just don't like not membering all the cast.
It's possible they overcast in case some are "duds." Maybe they thought certain casts didn't live up to what they thought they'd be, so now they have 8. Or, think of it as primary characters and support characters. Anyway I'd like to see Erika do some more music on the show, I liked her stuff so far.
If I member correctly In Brooklyn the casted Seven and then Katelynn was going to leave for a few and a replacement would be in place but since production got pushed back the just brought all eight and decided to stick with the concept

In my recollection, she only found out she was on the show a week before taping started and she was the 8th roomie. If that be the case, then it would seem as if they added #8 for other reasons. The one thing that seemed odd to me was that they were supposedly going to tape that season in the summer and got delayed by location issues within NYC. Since Katelynn's surgery was in June, I wonder if Katelynn would have even been on Brooklyn but for the delay or if she would have put off the surgery. I don't mind 8---I wouldn't mind 10 to be honest. I would rather they extend the season by a few episodes so everyboody's story at least gets some air time. All the guys in DC are interesting enough except for TY IMO. The girls are all borderline interesting except maybe Callie, whom I think is very interesting.
Good to hear that I am not the only one sick of the whole "free bird" schtick. In regards to Ty being "outspoken" yes people respect honesty but they respect tact just as much. When you speak without forethought to other peoples feelings it just shows your immaturity. Sure you're keeping it real...real dumb. I am the first one to shy away from policital correctness but their are better, smarter, more mature ways of saying things rather than blurting them out to be "outspoken" or push peoples buttons. Oh and the whole Callie thing - I know perception vs reality can be two different things but the girl is hot. She has a rockin' bod. In the real world (no pun intended) no one I know likes stick figure girls. I'd say a majority of men love curves.
Why cast for 8 roommates if you're only going to show 5 or 6? Tsk, tsk BMP.
And honestly they've been doing that with 7 castmembers as well. Only showing 5 of them then the other 2 get little to know screentime.
not really, in latter seasons I can't really think about any characters who were left in the dust. Key west obviously Janelle and Jose were left out. But Denver the whole cast was integral and same thing with Sydney. But I do agree there will always be that infamous "7th cast member" and in this case "8th cast member"
What bugged me about the aftershow was that all they basically said was, "You don't have to be skinny to beautiful. Just because most girls on TV are skinny, doesn't mean you have to be etc etc." I think if they were going to discuss female body image, they should have discussed female body insecurities in general. It's not just the average/big girls who are insecure about the way their bodies look. That really bugged me. But whatevs :/
