Paris is last on my list (by a long shot.)
Paris is last on my list (by a long shot.)
I agree 100%. If I had to make a list of all the seasons it would be: 1.Back to New York 2.Hollywood 3.Hawaii 4.New Orleans 5.Boston 6.Miami 7.Chicago 8.New York 9.San Francisco 10.Los Angeles 11.Seattle 12.San Diego 13.Denver 14.Las Vegas 15.Key West 16.Philadelphia 17.Austin 18.Sydney 19.London 20.Paris Paris was just so unentertaining. It wasn't even okay at best. To me it doesn't beat London and that season is as bad as it gets. Ace was the only one interesting in that season and the only who came off that season that I ever liked.
I loved it when Ace told the strippers that he was the son of Samuel Walton (Wal Mart). That's pretty much the only thing entertaining I remember about that season.
I remember the part where I heard, "Hello my name is CT and...." I pretty much tuned out right around there.
No...but I did read somewhere (I'll have to check my source) that their Sept. 11 reactions were fake and re-taped because they were actually at a ball game or something at the time. I'll have to try and find that story because I was really surprised initally how tastefully that episode was done.
I think they cant go to any ball games , they were doing a photo shoot tho and didnt know about it at the time. It couldnt have been fake cause at the time kyle was worried about his then girlfriend.

It may not have been actually taped in real time (for whatever reason) but I'm sure noone would have had to "fake" a reaction to anything like that...
I remember the part where I heard, "Hello my name is CT and...." I pretty much tuned out right around there.
LOL, well then I'm going to go out on a limb and say you really can't judge the season either way. 3-4 minutes (wasn't CT the very first person that was shown in his hometown, or was it Mallory first?) of anything isn't enough to know whether it's good or not. :) I think people are too quick to cream their jeans over the original seasons of RW. Sure they weren't packed full of all the drunken drama and hooking up that RW is full of now, but LA, San Fran, and London really weren't that great. Yes, San Fran had some of the most "real" and intense storylines ever to be shown on the show BUT there was also a large number of cast members and storylines that were beyond boring. For instance, sure the Puck/Pedro stuff was interesting and Rachel brought an interesting new republican POV to the show, but Cory, Mo, Judd, Pam, and Jo were for the most part a giant snoozefest. As for Chicago being "fake" I think it all has to do with what you consider fake. Yes, on the show it showed them being horrified upon supposedly seeing and learning of the horrors of 9/11 when in reality they had learned about it earlier. However, that doesn't erase their reactions and the truth is they probably were still just as shocked and mortified at the footage even if they had already heard about it a couple hours before. Yes, it's reality but you need to remember this is also TV. It needs to be realized that if everything was shown in real time as it actually happened, we'd probably be bored to death.
I was kidding, lol. I actually watched Paris, although looking back I kind of wish I got out more that year instead. ;) London was the second worst ever on my humble list. General rule of thumb for me is if it was overseas (or in Texas) - it sucked.

My second least favorite is London. Then Sydney and then Austin.

Ny,la And San Fran Were Awesome, I Just Prefer Real Situations Over Constantly Going Out To Drink Every Night
Ny,la And San Fran Were Awesome, I Just Prefer Real Situations Over Constantly Going Out To Drink Every Night
yeah, it was also cool when intelligent/mature/thoughtful people weren't such a rare and remarkable occurrence. hmm... that sounds bad. allow me to disclaim: I'm not saying that the more recent seasons haven't all (or mostly) had a number of cool/smart people. Just saying that it now seems that the order of the day is to to stack the deck with people who are prone to displays of a) recurring drunkenness, b) blind immaturity, c) vapid superficiality. And even when people have more to their personalities than the ability to party and get it on in a hot tub (or in bedroom night vision, take your pick), editors make sure we don't much get to see it. I guess maybe that makes for "better TV," (read: better ratings) but it totally turns me off. I was so disgusted by Vegas that I didn't even bother watching the next 3 seasons because i found the trend of sexcapades, drunken debauchery, and superficial crushes and love triangles so boring and useless. I don't consider any of that shit "real" & I missed the days when RW actually gave me something to think about now & again. I know that a cast full of Parisas would never work, but it'd be cooler to have a more even mix of folks. maybe it's my faulty memory ***king with me, but it seems like they used to cast a much wider range of personalities & used to have a higher ratio of more intelligent people in the mix. or maybe I was just dumber back in the 90s (entirely possible). And don't get me wrong--I do find it hilariously entertaining to see people acting a fool. It'd just be nice to also have a fairer share of genuine substance. I guess my favorite seasons were New York, Back to New York, New Orleans, Boston, maybe San Francisco... Least favorite: Vegas, by far. f all those jokers & their dumb *** drama.

They are great seasons that taught a lesson. The only lesson being taught from the past 9 seasons starting at Las Vegas is how to get drunk, have ***, and have a pregnancy scare.
The only lesson being taught from the past 9 seasons starting at Las Vegas is how to get drunk, have ***...
And your point is ... ? :D
When Las Vegas came out I thought it was the bomb. Back then it was different, crazy, fun! I didn't realize that every season after would be an exact clone of that "orgy-licious" formula. That is why when I look back, it is not with as much fondness as would be the case had it been the final season of series (or a stand alone.) In truth, there are two distinct series: The original and the Vegas spin off.
My number one is definitely Key West by far. I hate how horrible Tyler is to Svetlana, I love how Johnny (or in this season 'John') can go from being a completely ignorant ******* to a kind, compassionate person, I love the whole cast, but most of all, I love Paula. She made so much progress and it's amazing to see her in the beginning of Key West and see her in the challenges now. The cast of Key West was real. They all pretty much had a little secret about them or something that no one knew. Now some of the cast members on the newer seasons are boring as ****.

I've seen every season... but personally, New Orleans hands down... It had a fun cast, great story lines, an awesome house, a great city... It was all around the best in my book. You can't top Julie, Melissa, Danny, David, Kelley, Jamie and Matt. The reunion was interesting, and the blooper show was downright hilarious. San Diego, San Francisco and Brooklyn all trail behind, definitely honorable mentions.

You obviously forgot the Valentine's episode when flowers were delivered to the house for Leah and it was "from Chris". CT claimed it was from him and everyone thought he was sooooooooo sweet... and then Leah discovered it was from her friend. That's a CLASSIC Real World moment, not just on the Paris season but in the shows history too!!
1. Las Vegas 2. San Diego 3. Miami 4. Hollywood 5. Chicago
Top 4 1. Cancun 2. Brooklyn 3. Sydney 4. Key West
OMG! I'm so sorry. You haven't been watching very long, have you?
Cancun, #1? Interesting. Top 5 1. RW1: New York 2. RW11: Chicago 3. RW 9: New Orleans 4. RW 14: San Diego 5. RW 7: Seattle
Las Vegas? You people have horrible taste in RW seasons. Since the title is singular I will only name my most favorite season and that is Miami. Hands down it had the best cast, great house, amazing location, & the best drama I have ever seen in the 17 years of The Real World. Quite possibly the best and most real castmember in Flora came from this season. Flora is one of those rare people who is a**** but you cant help but love because she is so blunt and in your face about everything while still managing to be funny. She fought with everyone in the house but yet at the end it was Melissa who everyone hated for being fake and an undercover hoe. She would be remembered for the infamous "Shower Scene Threesome" along with Mike & Melody the waitress. Sarah was the free spirit who would bring 10 year old street kids to the house and Flora would cuss them out and kick them out. Cynthia was a real black girl, not one of those fake, plastic wanna be white black girls they cast every season now. She also told it how it was but was really likable while doing this. She didnt back down from Flora though. When Flora told Cythina to get her black attitude out of her face, she replied with a "F U ******". Dan was not the typical annoying gay guy he actually had a story to him and stirred up drama but not even he could handle Flora's wrath. Joe and Mike were interchangable but still I liked them both. I might be biased towards this season because it is the first I watched all the way through (I had seen some of the London episodes before) but I recognize greatness when I see it. No other season has topped this one. I thought Hawaii was pretty **** close though. Here's some videos of some of the season's best moments in case you havent seen this season: Dan vs. Melissa (possibly the most memorable of several fights from the season): YouTube - Dan vs. Melissa The threesome (before they were cliche on the show): YouTube - Miami Threesome Episode Flora owns Mike and Dan in one video: YouTube - Miami's Flora vs Mike & Dan The best cast in RW history reunited 4 years later: YouTube - The Real World Reunion 2000 Part 2 of 7

Fake, plastic, wannabe-white girls? Please, don't stereotype the stereotype.
New Orleans, Miami, San Diego & Hollywood by far have the best cast. I think Melissa(NO) was the most hilarious castmember of all time.
I never got Melissa at all on NO. I didnt even like her until Battle of the Sexes. I thought she was pretty cool on there. I wouldnt call her the best castmembers, there are plenty of other past RW'ers I liked better than Melissa.
