Road Rules (Generic Thread)

Wasn't there plans around the time of RR14 to put some of the Fresh Meat on a Road Rules? I think I remember seeing that a few years ago.

Anyways I always thought that Road Rules was the more Interesting show IMO a bad Road Rules season was better than a good RW Season. Anyway's my favorite Roadies are. I miss Road Rules I can't believe it couldn't survive I think the concept was better than the Real World, I think the hour format would work better for this show. To bad some real effort wasn't put into RR14 to save it.

Road Rules will always be better than Real World, but that's just my opinion. :)

I agree... I think if they hadn't screwed with the concept after the 13th season it might still be on the air... but they had to compete with themselves, they went all crazy with the challenge that they had to compare it... if anything Viewer's Revenge felt like another challenge concept didn't it?? But anyways, if you haven't seen the show, I recommend watching Islands, Northern Trail, Down Under and Latin America. Those four are the EPITOME of what the Road Rules concept is all about. South Pacific is extremely good too even having the voting-off rule. All time favorite road rulers are Kalle, Vince, Dan, Josh, Holly (7), Susie and Shayne. Classic. VR felt like FM2.

Semester At Sea is one of my favorites. Ayanna and the whole voodoo deal and the Veronica/Ayanna scream match were classic. The Quest is my favorite season that had to do with the whole vote off concept. But I'll say Semester At Sea is my favorite season of the whole series.

I miss Road Rules so much!

That video made me really sad what a great show, now we have The Hills & Jersey Shore :( what a shame. Come on BMP atleast get me a series DVD haha.

yeah bring it back damn MTV it was arguably the best show they ever made and they treated it horrible both the network and the producers they took a great adventure which was cancelled then when they get a chance to bring it back they totally change it into a horrible remake of the challenge if they hadn't done the pit thing but kept the original voting system, which although I didn't like it it was part of the show at that point, they still would have gotten a few new kids in it with the amount of times the rodies lost and it would have been much better and we could have even voted in the replacements based on the pit stops and online videos that the crew made which would have made it better and more watched imo

They should have made VR a Road Rules All-Stars with the previpus Road Rulers.

^actually since there is no period there is no actual end so the tirade is one sentance part. Which doesn't make it any less right

Not only was the pit a disaster of an idea. It was executed extremely poorly in that they only showed highlights of it on the show and instead they should have showed the whole pit. As is now the case the face off is pretty much the most important thing and they totally ignored it.

I recently e-mailed Chuck Larsen, the president of October Moon (the company that redistributed 'Road Rules' in syndication) and he says; "Road Rules is owned by MTV Networks. We no longer have distribution rights to the series." So this could mean that we will never see the show on television ever again unless MTV plans to sell the rights to redistribute the show again.

is it bad that I hope FM2 does bad in ratings so that MTV decides to resurect Road Rules not bad enough to have the Challenge cancelled but just bad enough that MTV never wants to risk another one

It seems like a lot of people love Road Rules but I never liked it. Except for The Quest, I have always liked Real World MUCH better! If Road Rules were still around and The Real World wasn't then I think that everyone would say that they always liked The Real World more.

I dont see at all why Road Rules has not already been resurrected in its original format... They seriously are running out of ideas for the challenge... Road Rules is a steady format and doesn't take much thought or creativity to re-produce... not to the point where it's getting ridiculous at least. At least Road Rules will bring fresh faces every season FOR the challenge, that way the challenge continues to stay fresh.

As much as we want to see Road Rules return, I think it is dead and gone...

I loved when Tina came on RR12. She was so sassy.
