Jersey Shore - MTV

Is anyone else dreading this show? I am very offended. I feel like they are going to show Italian Americans in a way that is a flat out disgrace. Nonetheless I hope it is good. They look like clowns, but hey! Jersey Shore | MTV

I think this show is going to be like the hills crossed with peak season. I can't stand these shows and this will be the 4th one now.

When I think of the Jersey shore, I think of this picture, hehe...
MTV is defending its upcoming reality show "Jersey Shore" against an Italian-American group that says the production, which follows eight self-proclaimed "Guidos" as they tan, work out and hook up during a Seaside Heights summer, is offensive. UNICO, the Fairfield-based Italian-American service organization that has previously protested the portrayal of Italians on "The Sopranos," has a problem with the use of the term "Guido" and the vulgarity on display in the show's teasers. "Jersey Shore" beings airing Dec. 3. "The show continues MTV's history of documenting various subcultures, rites of passage of young people, and the ways they self-identify," an MTV spokesperson says in a statement. "The Italian-American cast takes pride in their ethnicity. We understand that this show is not intended for every audience and depicts just one aspect of youth culture."

Agreed. No interest here. When I think of the Jersey shore, I think of this picture, hehe... 'Popped Collar Cool'
I personally like this one... Add me to the list of people that WON'T be giving this show the time of day. It's bad enough I caught reruns of True Life's "I Have A Summer Share" and "I'm a Jersey Shore Girl" (don't ask), and I'm not sure I could take anymore without poking my eyes out. The voices grate, the attitudes suck, it's like these people live in an alternate universe where the oranger your skin and the crispier your hair the better. And they're proud of it. I can't give them anymore attention. I just, can't.

I think the only value this show has is to have us playing the "At what age did these people get dropped on their heads" guessing game.
I heard that Staten Island may become it's own state. If this is the case here is hoping they don't get a show as well.
Because the sun never sets on being a badass.
That might be the best caption I've ever seen.
I'm offended as someone from the jersey shore. South Jersey shore is mostly surfers.

As much as I can't stand this show already, there is buzz about it everywhere. I could possibly do well. People are watching for the trainwreck.
I will probably watch because the Jersey Shore episode of True Life is a favorite of mine.
I will probably watch because the Jersey Shore episode of True Life is a favorite of mine.
Me too! I go to the Jersey Shore every summer & let me tell you... those kind of ppl def exist down there!
And that scares me. :sadwalk:
Scares me too, trash TV.
Yes, they could definitely be putting much more buzz into some other shows (like perhaps RWDC for one) than yet another trashy show (and make no mistake, this will be trashy) being put into the works by MTV.

OK..I understand that people are against the show but try to get it cancelled because of a stereotype? Lets get real, there are many tv shows that stereotype different groups. Is Kenny in this one? LOL
Is Kenny in this one? LOL
:lol2: I am shocked no one used that one yet...
:lol2: I am shocked no one used that one yet...
Me too...and I am probably going to get crap for doing it, but it was just sitting there waiting.
We all know stereotypes are based on some truth but what makes it wrong is that you judge or generalize the whole group of people by the actions of some. These Jersey Shore Guidos exist but not every Italian is a guido. People need to take the show as it is intended, entertainment.

LOL, I've always thought it was pronounced Guide-o.
I honestly never even heard of this stereotype until this show popped up. I was like..."People like this actually exist in the world??.....I'm scared."
I honestly never even heard of this stereotype until this show popped up. I was like..."People like this actually exist in the world??.....I'm scared."
I used to attracted guido's back whenever the Gotti's were on. I used to tell everyone Carmine was my boyfriend.
This is going to be like the Real World with big hair.
I just watched the little preview vid. "Fist pumping like Champs!!!" LOL
I have a feeling this show will be more entertaining than most recent seasons of The Real World.
I have a feeling this show will be more entertaining than most recent seasons of The Real World.
I agree. But only if entertaining means trashy.
