Um, a lot of people were under 21 on the Real World. In the seasons I've watched--Wes, Jonna, Brianna and Svetlana were 20 (Svet turned 20 on the show I think), Shavonda, Cameran and Nehemiah were 19. Australia's drinking age is 18 so a lot of the Sydney cast was also under 21--Ashli, Trisha, and Kelly Anne were 19, 19 and 20 respectively. Derek came on Cancun when he was 20 but turned 21 during filming. Going back, I'm pretty sure that Aneesa was 19 when she was on Chicago and Miz was either 19 or 20 on B2NY (I'm basing this on the fact that he celebrated his 21st birthday on Battle of the Seasons).
Also, wasn't it reported that Emily on DC is 20?
You could fix that issue by doing that season in Canada! :D
Works for me. Toronto is one of my favorite cities in the universe (but don't tell anybody else they may take away my US citizenship)

Sure a lot of RW cast members have been under 21. Devyn was on Brooklyn which was why she couldn't go clubbing with the others so much or gamble in Atlantic City. I am just saying if nobody at all is 21 (i.e. traditional freshmen) then it might not be as interesting to watch. Alcohol=Drama.
Freshmen in college probably drink as much, if not more than, most people in their 20s...it's not really that difficult to come by alcohol in college. I never had a problem getting it when I was under 21. In many college towns, the bars are very lax on fake IDs because they know that they get 75% of their patronage from under 21 customers.

Very true, but I don't think MTV would really be interested in pursuing that liability.
Yeah...I never thought that the whole 7 college freshmen in a house would be a great idea to begin with. Starting college is such a tumultuous experience in and of itself so adding the pressure of the Real World on top of that would really screw with those kids' minds.

I think it would be interesting if you had the right group of kids and the right school. College Life sucked because the kids controlled what they taped so you know the good stuff never made it to tape. I think maybe a mix of upperclassmen and one or two freshmen would work---sort of a co-ed frat house type thing.
Still, it wouldn't be like The Real World is because the point is to put 8 strangers in a house in a city that none of them are really familiar with. If you took 8 students who had been in the same school for a number of years (providing there are some upperclassmen), that would take away from what the Real World is intended to do. Those upperclassmen would already have friends at the school and the whole point of the show is to see how people react to a completely new, unfamiliar environment. Doing all freshmen would not be advisable just because doubling the new environment factor for freshmen could lead to disaster.

Perhaps not that interesting to you, but I think it might be interesting to people who have yet to go to college and bring back memories for those who have. Having lived in group housing, I can say it can be very chaotic just because of the stream of characters flowing in and out the door. I think Real World would do better if they showed more of the outside friends and visitors than they do.
Orlando
Atlanta
Rome
Toronto
Amsterdam
San Juan
Houston
San Antonio
Pheonix
Salt Lake City
Portland
Charlotte
Which Cities would you like The next three seasons to take place. For me
Atlanta
Rome Or Houston
Salt Lake City
I don't think you get that that's not the point of the show though. It's not supposed to be about their outside friends, it's supposed to be about their interactions with each other in a place unfamiliar to all of them. It's not called The Real World and Friends. I also believe that the show benefits from having people that are at different points in their lives (hence the 18-24 age range).
Also, I'm in college (almost finished), and I've lived in group housing and I know how chaotic it can be, so you're preaching to the choir with that one. What you're proposing is a completely different show that has the potential to be interesting, yes, but it's not The Real World. It's College Hill on BET. If you find that sort of set up interesting, I'd recommend checking that show out.
you don't need booze to get college kids to fight. Trust me..........
You don't need booze to get college kids to do a lot of stuff...

I will check it out as I have never heard of College Hill, but I disagree about what the Real World is supposed to be about. It is about IMO people living their lives however that happens to be. Certainly in Cancun people like Pat and the significant others back home were a big part of the mix.
Yes, they're a part of the mix, but keep in mind that they met Pat there--they also weren't in their comfort zone in Cancun, whereas if they were at the place they've been going to school but in a different living situation, they would still be able to constantly leave and fall back on the relationships they had already established, which IMO would take away from a lot of the appeal of the Real World. It's always exciting on the show when friends/significant others/etc come to visit, but if they were established fixtures on the show, it would have more of a Laguna Beach appeal than The Real World.
As of Rw Brooklyn till Season 26 So we have Three moe season left
It will be around for many more years IMO. If they killed off RW they would have to kill off the challenges as well and then there would be a huge hole in MTV's cycle of shows. Quite frankly, I am not sure I could survive another season of 16 and pregnant in high rotation. They should bring back TRL IMO and settle in on a consistent schedule. MTV is binging and purging on some shows IMO.
That would be so awesome if Road Rules was Renewed!
I think this new show they have coming out based on The Bucket List will have a RR essence to it. I loved RR when they were jumping off and out of **** but then it just seemed to be all about "Let's see who will eat something disgusting" and other such silliness.
College Hill....I know ILM is kind of like the RW/RR Challenge but if MTV/BMP did a college thing they would probably get sued. That College life show is nothing like College Hill but the ones you guys are describing is exactly like College Hill except its all minorities. BMP would not go there, it would just be ridiculous because its the EXACT same thing.

Yeah, I think we can thank Fear Factor for that one.
I miss the old Road Rules, too. And it was fun when they would get together with the Real Worlders about mid-season and compete (and hook up).
I also miss Real World going on vacations. I remember the Hawaii cast going to India, I think, and it was pretty interesting. Colin and Amaya, wow. Awkward. That was the season I started watching RW and RR, which was Semester at Sea, I believe.

I have never actually seen Road Rules. Which seasons of RR/RW crossed paths and who hooked up with whom? Please do tell!
I don't remember who flirted or hooked up with who, because my memory just plain sucks, just that there was some cross-pollination going on with the two shows. Not literally.
Road Rules is dead:rip:.
well that sucks, if only they hadn't added that pit crew thing VR would have been so much better

all I remember is Susie from Down Under hooking up with Abe from Latin America
and Steven from Las Vegas getting tied up by the Campus Crawl girls

Yes, Colie did win biggest playa and Johanna won best dance off.
