My bad feeling came to fruition. This could be really, really bad. Not just for tonight...
The initial report on Jon Lester is reason for a sigh of relief: X-rays of his right knee taken at Yankee Stadium were negative, and his official status is day-to-day. The quick diagnosis is a contusion of the right quadriceps. [Extrabases]
Thank God.
oh, Bacchus. That reminds me. I recently got my CT scan results back from earlier tonight. It was revealed that I received a major migrain, from our Sox's terrible pitching and hitting over the past series and tonight. THey said I should stop watching the games.
It wasn't as bad a beating as it could have been. Hopefully we can turn things around tonight. I'd like to take one of these games...
It wasn't as bad a beating as it could have been. Hopefully we can turn things around tonight. I'd like to take one of these games...
Agreed, it wasn't too brutal. We actually had some offense, not enough but we scored and made it kind of a game at the end! Positive thinking :D haha
Tater....I feel it. I know I will come to regret this...but I feel it. (Context: A-rod strikeout interference call out.)
I saw a four leaf clover today. I swear...
The Red Sox clinched and I could hardly care....blah...
The Braves are still in the WC hunt for the NL so hopefully they can get in somehow.
The Braves are still in the WC hunt for the NL so hopefully they can get in somehow.
I hope so too :).
GW and D player!!! NOOOOO!! Say it isn't so. You like the braves? May I add Phillies are NL east champs :)
GW and D player!!! NOOOOO!! Say it isn't so. You like the braves? May I add Phillies are NL east champs :)
Yeah, I'm from Georgia so of course I like the Braves, haha.
:) Looks like the losing streak could end tonight at 6 :)
:) Looks like the losing streak could end tonight at 6 :)
Oh ya...go ahead and jinx us now. Thanks. haha. Anyway, this is all posturing for the playoffs. Best case scenario, we do to the Angels what we always do to them in the playoffs and have a 2004 scenario against the Yankees... But...I think it is going to be more like 2004 games 1-3 and no redemption (game 4+.) Worst case scenario, the Angels sweep us.
Victor Martinez is so awesome, I think my little black hole of negativity could collapse under the weight of his deeds. Yes...he was not enough at the deadline for the money we have in the coffers, but yes he is a ******. I smile every time I see him. That is a good thing.
:) I hear a contract extension is in the works B. :D
Molds, your boys better win tonight. Just got done watching the Twins win and I have no doubt they will probably win tomorrow too! Edit: It is not looking good.
Detroit is in danger of becoming the only team in baseball history to be in first place on May 10 and stay atop a division until losing the title in the last week. Awesome. We do have Verlander starting, which is the lone bright spot in the disgrace that has become the Tigers program.
I guess it really doesn't matter to me either way, although I hate watching baseball in the metrodome and would like one team to clinch today so I know what night the Sox are playing the Angels. New York is 5-1 vs Detroit and 7-0 vs Minnesota this season...
Hmm, what to do today... I can potentially watch baseball history, check to see how far my Wolverines fell on the AP rankings, or watch the Lions lose (again). Then again, they are playing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on Disney...

Yet another 95 win season. I guess we should not be complaining in Beantown...although we will anyway.
I am really stressing... Final day of fantasy baseball. Final match up. I lead by [strike]6[/strike] [strike]4[/strike] [strike]3.5[/strike] 3 points. With all my late players riding the bench, I am just left with Ethier and he has Morales and Figgins. I need this title for my fantasy sports street cred and am hoping for lots of good pitching over the next couple hours... Edit: I know I am a goner...Ethier just struck out. [strike][Edit2: Good news, Figgins was benched. That means it is a 3 point lead and only Ethier and Morales on the field.[/strike] I pulled it off (unless there was a major statistical blunder to be recalculated later.)
poor cubbies :(
Baseball down, football in the cross hairs. ;)
:d way to go bacchus!
Well the rangers finished with 87 wins, which was fourth best in the american league. Too bad they couldnt stay in the playoff race till the very end. But i think next year they will be even better, most of their pitching staff is young and will get better. Their offense is always good. Good luck to all the playoff teams this year, except the yankess.
Well the Braves finished with 86 wins so it could have been worse. Of course getting beat twice in extra innings back to back by a team that has the worse record of all Major League Baseball definitely didn't help things. Oh well I give good graces to the Red Sox in the playoffs.
How is the Tigers game not playing on ANY sports channels? Not even Fox Sports Detroit.
How is the Tigers game not playing on ANY sports channels? Not even Fox Sports Detroit.
That is quite ridiculous. I am not anywhere near a tv so I won't be much help. :(
