The following is a list of the new programming for the five major English language broadcast networks in the United States. The list includes new prime time shows airing from September 2009 through May 2010.
Sadly, only one (Flash Forward) even garners a little interest from me.
Looking at the list, 95% are "safe" rehashed versions of other shows I currently don't watch. I'm not sure who is running these networks, but from the looks of their new offerings, I fully understand why people are migrating to cable!
Three years ago, I tried out 8 new shows. Two years ago 5. Last year 3. This year, probably 1 - maybe two (V.)
That means I'll be watching a lot less network television this coming year.
The good news? Top Chef, Caprica, Stargate Universe, The Next Iron Chef, Flipping Out, The Ruins, The Universe, et. al. I guess the networks just don't really matter any more....
