Survivor is back and this time in China.
As usual the first episode of the new Survivor season was not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. There was so much information to shove down our throats in that initial hour, it was hard to build a compelling storyline.
I am all for the location. It is beautiful. I want to go to China!
The monks were priceless as they assured correct form and the fact that Leslie could not make it through a non-worship ceremony and rather choose to disrespect the culture, added her right to my hater list.
The only other one to join that list in the first 15 minutes was Courtney. I have a feeling she will not make it very far with that attitude. Honorable mentions are John-Robert, as he just seems slimy and Peih-Gee.
I was not surprised Chicken was sent packing, but I was disappointed. Even though he came off as abrasive I think he would have been an asset to the tribe, much more so then whiners like PG (I could tell even Jeff enjoyed the irony when she volunteered to be the "leader" of Zhan Hu.)
I think we are going to see a much more linear episode next week and now that we have been introduced, we can settle in and enjoy the journey that is Survivor. It might not be new or groundbreaking, but it is comfortable and sometimes that is just what you need.
