The Real World Cancun Reunion: Episode Discussion

We only get edited versions of them so I've been trying a lot harder recently not to judge reality stars based on how they are on TV.

I know how the season edits put a spin on the cast members, but I actually based that comment while watching the reunion, and from reading their Twitter posts (I hate the word "tweet", lol ). It's not like I would spit in their face if I actually saw them in person, though; of course I'd give them a chance. I'm a nice person, too. :pinch:

I'm guessing she had it with her in the event that Jonna ran off somewhat reckless with the tongue and needed to be checked. From the looks of it, the idea that the letter was in fact in her purse was warning enough as Jonna's face resembled that of a dear in headlights. That said, these are my lasting impressions of the roommates. Jonna is easily the most frustrating personality of this cast. I WANT to like her, because she's beautiful and seems like a lot of fun, but she is just not honest enough with herself or others just yet. It seems like maybe she recognizes that fact and is trying to change but in the meantime she is going to have a hard time forging any real friendships with her seemingly consistent acts of dishonesty. Emilee is both gorgeous and over the top. Very fitting of Boston, she pretty much captures your attention whether you want her to or not. She may overreact at times, but she typically gets her point across and even though her reactions may be serious they are also sincere, which I respect. Joey likes to push people's buttons. He's the type of guy that keeps a mental record of how you react to things that he says and remembers what got the largest rise out of you and then he grinds on it whenever the timing seems opportune, that is what makes him so perfect for reality television. I do believe that he's actually shockingly honest though, if somewhat of a pain. Why do we not get more Derek? He seems like the glue that holds that entire cast together and aside from brief clips of the bromance, we really did not get enough Derek related action. Maybe his role in the house isn't highlight material, but I think that if you were to ask the roommates who caused and resolved the most drama I would put a sizable sum of money on him. CJ's hair is embarrassing. I like the guy and hope that he continues to do what he likes doing. CJ doesn't really pull any punches, but there doesn't seem to be but so much depth there, but BMP doesn't really edit or cast for depth. 90% of college frat guys would get along fabulously with him. Jasmine got hosed this season. She genuinely tried to help Jonna and be friendly and rarely if ever got the credit she deserved. When Jonna did just blasphemously horrific things, the person who went to her and initiated dialog about it was Jasmine- to her face, not behind her back. She gets drunk and upset, and had some brutal on screen moments, but at the very least I get the impression that she took away a fair amount of good information from her experience. I think Jas is going to be just fine. Bronne needs to be my friend on Xbox live. The kid is hilarious and while some may think he's overly childish or his personality is "too much," I dig the fact that he's out there as who he is and you can take or leave it. In addition when was the last time we saw an honest to goodness gamer/nerd on the Real World? Never? Exactly. Not everyone who's into sci-fi and video games wears all black and lives in a basement. Bronne is our proof. Ayiia is a quite the Transformer. I mean that not in the sense that she's fake, but more in the respect that she's more than meets the eye. I had mixed feelings about her the majority of the season, but have come to accept the fact that there was a ton of Ayiia story that wasn't told. Especially the romantic goings on between her and Jonna. I would love to get a more in depth look at her. Also she's beautiful, I was on the fence at first, but seriously the girl is really attractive. I hope that she's not into girls as a phase, and also hope that she's gotten enough of her sexual exploration out of her system so that she can be in a committed and meaningful relationship.

The odd question about Ayiiia in my mind is why she saw what she did with the other girls was not cheating in her mind in the sense that she didn't call her boyfriend about that so far as I saw. Glad to hear Bronne is going to enlist in the Marine Corps. I am looking forward to DC. Hopefully there will be some folks there with some depth to them.

Wow, my last post looked like I typed it in my sleep. I was trying to say that I actually formed my opinions when seeing the castmembers' Twitter posts, and the reunion show just kind of confirmed what I already felt. Though, since I don't know any of them, personally, I don't have the whole picture. During the show it's too obvious when things are edited to put a spin on a particular story or cast member, so I take everything there with a grain of salt. It's entertainment. I started watching the Real World with the Hawaii season, and this season reminded me a lot of that one. Similar storylines.

IDK if this was answered already but, what was up with everybody hating Jonna at the reunion show? Does anyone know what happened?

If i had been at the reunion i would have been hating on Jonna too.

Before they went home it looked as if they all made amends, then at the reunion they acted as if they've never liked her. Ayiiia especially, because on the show they never showed her having problems with Jonna. On the reunion it looked as if everyone had something bad to say about her, I want to know what happened between the season finale to the reunion episode because everything bad Jonna did on the show the other roommates knew about before they left Cancun.

I wouldn't be comfortable posting her Tweets since she's got them set to private for a reason, obviously, but she hasn't said anything about the reunion, other than to say to watch it, beforehand. He was upset about something, and someone said to him something along the lines of "it's frustrating when the one you want doesn't know what she wants" (paraphrased). That could explain why she looked like she was about to cry the entire show. Again, just a guess. I haven't checked her page to see if it still says "And yes, I like him" in her bio. She started to seem way more into him when it was painfully obvious he was in it for airtime. It's funny that I follow Pat's tweets. He's such a dork, LOL. His tweets are always long drawn out words. The one that really gets under my skin is "owwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeee!!" A day or so before he flew to NYC for the reunion, he ended his tweet about partying in NYC with "yeeeeeeeeehaaawwwwwwwwwwww". You ain't going to Texas, son. I couldn't resist, so replied to him not to say "yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaawwwwwwwww" in NYC, because he would get some very strange looks. He replied back "I love strange looks!" Okay....

So this may be off-topic, but I'm from Ottawa (JR and Pat's hometown) and me and my friends have definitely heard a few things, that may or may not be true let's say. I have a confirmation that JR is definitely gay (nothing wrong with that, just, well we all saw him with Jasmine) and there are rumors going around that Pat is not his cousin... but that they used to be together a while back (my friends 5 years ago in cancun for their grad trip saw/hung out with them a few times, and said the 2 were never separated and everybody was sure about this) But I'm not completely sure about that second part.. Whats weird is that jonna is hot yes, but pat, ***? And I don't think pat is a superstar here in a ottawa at all, if anything, I sometimes cringe the fact that he comes from the same place as me. Also, CJ emilee derek and jonna came here for an appearance about 2 weeks ago and my friend actually hung out with them (her friend cut CJ's hair - maybe he didnt trust jonna?) And she told me a few things... 1 - Derek is absolutely the best guy ever 2 - Emilee was cool as well... 3 - CJ is sexy without his hair, although he has big ears (teeehee). He was under contract of not cutting his hair off until all the RW things were done with... Also how he hooked up alot during the show, and remember that date he had with one of the staff members? Well she was about to quit her job so she can date him but he told her not to... the producers definitely made it not look like that... Also how their methods of ************ in the house without being seen (HAHA!!) 4 - Jonna was crying all night apparently because pat was dj'ing at the club in ottawa and she wasn't getting enough attention from him - big surprise!! Although I thought I liked jonna.. Thought I related to her more.. after half the season she totally turned me off. Anyway that is all I have to say!

I am not buying the JR and Pat used to be gay lovers story. Nothing against Bizon, though.

It's hard to buy anything when the source is "a friend of a friend", or whatever. I think the Pat/JR being lovers thing is just a rumor that people are having "fun" with. I've seen that one on the MTV forums, so that pretty much discredits it for me. :-p I was saying I would not be horribly surprised at Pat and JR not really being cousins. On the episode where Pat was sticking up for JR when some of the roommates were mocking him (Emilee and Derek, I think? Calling him "gayface"), Jonna said something like "He's not really your cousin", or that he's a distant cousin, or something along those lines. Not really sure what the motive would be, though, to make up something like that, other than to add an "interesting twist" to a story [I]to get more airtime[/I], which, I believe, is the motive behind every word out of Pat's mouth. "Jasmine goes from Pat to his cousin", is more interesting than "Jasmine goes from Pat to some random guy". I speculate a lot when I'm bored. :pardon:

For the JR Pat thing, like I stated, it's something that my friends discussed a while ago, which I didn't believe them, but its still a speculation that was done about 4-5 years ago when my friends hung out around them physically, not from forums ( I have not read many forums, stumbled upon vevmo today ) Needless to say, I have no clue if its true, I am more on the ''its not true'' side but hey, figured I'd share, ya know! No hard feelings:) As for the tidbits about them hanging out in Ottawa, it's from my friend who called me immediately after hanging with them in the hotel room, I'm pretty sure its legit ;)

Not only that, but her BF from home was ready to go walk in traffic and it seems like she even took a piece of Queen B- Ayiia's heart. Anyone know if the Ayiia/Jonna "feelings" thing was something that happened in Cancun, or after?
