Such a good friend you are Jasmine! :D I hope you get more air time, now it's just cluttered with Ayiiia, Emilee, and Joey. We know nothing about you or Bronne.
Anyway, I know Emilee said a while ago that your season's going to have 12 episodes, yet MTV says there's 5 episodes left. Can you comment on this at all?
The producers of the Real World are sexist for letting Joey go so far in his abuse of Aiiiya. If Joey had been abusing a vulnerable guy like Derek, the producers would've had his bags packed immediately but because Aiiiya happens to be a woman, he can get away with whatever he wants.

This show could be renamed The Real World: Emilee and I'd be really happy, but honestly I don't think she's gotten all that much airtime. It's been the Ayiiia, CJ and Joey show in my opinion.
I think Jasmine, Bronne, and Emilee will take over for Joey when he exits. I think that Derrick will be like Brittini from Hollywood. She was cool with everyone and got occasional airtime.

I have not commented on this episode because I like both Ayiiia and Joey (and CJ for that matter). But why is everything about who went past the line first and the hardest, who had the worst comment, who is the most vindictive, etc. Hateful people are still hateful people. Angry people are still angry people. Are we really going to play the whole, "Let's rank cast members anger and issues on a scale and then debate each other about it"? Someone who tells someone to go cut themselves some more obviously has rage and issues. Someone who makes fun of someone for being adopted or having an abortion obviously has rage and issues. Why is someone better than someone else because of the levels of such attributes? I don't think it is right or fair to compare people's mistakes against each other.
Joey and CJ and Ayiiia were all wrong here. What Joey said was heinous and hurtful, and whether or not he is sorry is not the issue. That is between him and his higher power if he believes in such. The same goes for Ayiiia, Emilee, CJ, Bronne..whoever. It's all expected. While it is wrong and horrible, it makes the Real World successful. It is why you watched last nights episode and feel the need to comment here.
I, for one, am most fond of Ayiiia out of all of the girls. I just won't get into the whole who-was-the-most-wrong-and-why argument because I feel every party involved is wrong. Joey didn't believe Ayiiia, so rather than be fake and cater he stated his mind. However cruel, wrong, or hurtful his realness is - atleast he is being real. Forgiveness is the only resolution. May Joey, and Ayiiia both seek the help they need to make themselves okay and healthy (and happy) individuals.
I can say that I find both super real, and that is why I like them as cast members and love this season. I just won't play the "he crossed the line" game with anyone. Self reflecting, I have crossed the line so many times in my life that I thank god I am not on national television. I'll probably cross a lot more. It's human nature to make mistakes, and cross lines. A person's character is what makes forgiveness and compassion viable.
And this is why you are one of THE most amazing people on Vevmo. If only everybody else could share their opinions in respectful ways and look at both sides instead of being "Team (insert cast member here"). I agree with everything you said except for the "love this season" part, sorry lol. Seriously, pat yourself on the back.
BTW, I signed in just to comment on this, now back to my vacation.
snarkaholic: I agree with your sentiments that a large component of this is rooted in misogyny. It was evident from the very first episode that Joey has a deep-seated loathing for women. This episode demonstrated that he also has a very paternalistic consideration for Jasmine, but never introspects about how his own behavior can hurt people like her. He doesn't see the connection -- or if he does see the connection, he simply doesn't care enough to change.
Joey has the mentality of an abuser. It's a misconception that abusers are always straight-up negative people. The statistical reality is, they are usually considered to be generally "nice" people -- otherwise nobody would bother being around them in the first place. Their targets become emotionally invested in them after they've been ensnared by superficial charm, making the subsequent psychological onslaught all the more effective. This happens all the time, even with life-long friendships, so there's absolutely no reason it couldn't happen with people he's known for barely a year.
Abusers also devise excellent reasons why the victim is entirely at fault, even when she's collapsed on the ground, bloody and broken, and he's persistently poking her with a stick while she barely retaliates. I didn't even see her confront Joey head-on during this episode, aside from saying "I thought we were cool?"
And now that people acknowledge what he's capable of, and what's he's willing to rationalize as acceptable ... Well, god forbid he has a serious personal disagreement with another person, particularly if they're female. Evidently, he believes your personal trauma is fair game to score points off during a petty dispute.
Every time Joey makes an online update mocking his dissenters, he's essentially mocking his own roommates. He's reminding them of how dumb he believes their position is, whether he intends to or not.
I cannot believe Joey said, verbatim: "Emilee thought by confiding in me that I'd ease up on Ayiiia, but she obviously doesn't know me very well." Apparently, his loyalty and friendship to the women was far, far less important than his stalkerish fixation on scoring points against another woman who he has a disproportionate, irrational hatred of.

I'll have to co-sign this as well. I'm an Aiiiya fan, but they both took cheap swings.
Gosh.
I really love this season for what it is, DRAMA but I can't get myself to fully like one cast member. They all [iss me off at certain points. Here's my take on each cast member from my least liked, to most liked.
Bronne - "I know what Joey's doing is wrong, but I'm not going to do anything about it." SMH. He almost seems scared to step up to the guys and say what they're doing it's wrong. His sense of humor is lame, it's not natural. He also seems slow as if he was part of the Special Ed class in middle school, it bugs me for some reason. (haha)
CJ - First of, he truly has no game, he's too into himself and he is just corny. I understand why he got upset, but truly Ayiiia has done nothing to him prior to the "piglet" comment (at least that's what editing tells us) so his excuse about it all being "built-up tension" seems like BS.
Joey - We all know this dude is a joke. I prefer him over Bronne and CJ because what you see is what you get. Doesn't make it right but I prefer that over the above lames.
Derek - He doesn't semm... "honest" for a lack of a better word. I usually like the neutral people, but he just does not fit the part. Lol. It's almost like he's pretending to be neautral rather than truly being it. Ionno, hard to explain.
Jonna - Maybe it was the editing, I never cared for her prior to his episode but it just seemed like she could careless about Ayiiia's issue. It was almost like she only reacted because she was dragged into it.
Jasmine - I like her but she bugs me sometimes. Why did she keep asking Ayiiia "why are you breaking things?" Like, you just witnessed everything, it's called being upset. Even after Joey had sasked Ayiiia if she had a knife (right in front of her), she asked again. ****. But I like her more than I dislike it.
Ayiiia - Drama, drama, drama. She's the type of person that I would like to hang out with but I wouldn't bother to do so because she's just always sorrounded by drama. It's annoying, but she's fun and real - so whatever.
Emilee - My favorite, but the way she speaks bugs me sometimes. The episode didn't make me dislike her, but her postings here do. Comments along the lines of "i hate you, but I love you" just annoy me. I'm not quoting her, it's just an example. She always gives the two opposite opinions in on sentence. Grrr. Lol
Wow, Joey is the biggest d-bag I've ever seen. What a tool. He's just like every other local band *** who thinks he's really cool. That is, a d-bag. What a heartless low-life *******. Someone really needs to punch him in the face for just being who he is. I'm definitely on Ayiiia's side. And the issue in this episode is not a **** joke, it's serious.
I am rambling and do not think this makes sense lol. My eye is insanely itchy even though I have never had eye allergies and I have not slept in 24 hours, hopefully people can understand this.
I really don't dislike anyone. I have people that I like more. Yet I find it impossible to actually dislike someone that I do not know and only see on my tv screen once a week for a hour. I definitely form opinions and often say to myself wow that is so wrong, that is horrible.
Well, I guess it is like how I view the people around me, I always try to find the good in people and remember what was positive that they did in the past. Pretty much why I still like the whole cast.
Emilee is the kindest and most sincere person in the house. I'm pretty convinced after this episode. And though Joey may come across as an ***, and perhaps is one, he is right behind Emilee in terms of sincerity, if not anywhere close in terms of kindness. His thought on Jasmine were quite nice to hear.
Joey seems like one of those people who is very conditional on who he is nice to. There are some people who are nice to everyone even if they're not a person's biggest fan, and then there are people like Joey who are super nice to people they really like but are monsters to those they dislike. I think everyone else in the house is a happy medium, but he's at that extreme.
Wow, after seeing the preview for the rest of the season, I'm thinking, does anybody actually get kicked out? I mean, we've got Bronne throwing a fire extinguisher off of their balcony, we've got Ayiiia causing drama left and right. Does anyone go home?

A good place to ask this question would be in the spoiler thread.

Or just read it, as that question has already been answered there. ;)
I just watched the uncensored hot tub fight, and it's kind of funny because CJ and Joey are making fun of Ayiiia for repeating the same thing, when literally all CJ said was "It's about respect!" and all Joey said was "Get ****ed!"
They're so pathetic. It would have been hilarious to watch Ayiiia hit one of them, especially Joey since she could probably break him over her knee.

I noticed that too and thought it was kind of funny. Kind of ridiculous, but funny.
I just hope that NONE of these people show up on Challenges - or if they do they get sent home right away!! What a waste of a potentially excellent season.

I think they will. Honest I think they'll make a great show. Joey said he'll never do one. I think Ayiiia and Emilee will bring the drama to the challenges. I think CJ, Bronne and Jonna will bring competition.
