My first impression from seeing the previews on t.v was "Oh look, it's "The Good Son", except with a girl." Not interested...
I probably won't see it. I doesn't look too interesting.
I know the whole "big surprise" behind it and was pretty disappointed with the twist, so I won't be seeing it.
This movie looks like a stinker.
Here is the "big twist" in case anyone cares. It is what really turned me off.
I guess the ribbon around her neck hides scars from the past when she was in an institution. But the big thing that we will "never see coming" is that the girl is actually a 30 something woman with a form of dwarfism that makes her look young. So that is why she can play the piano so well and draw/paint well and why she tries to seduce her latest adoptive father (yuck!). Lame, lame, lame to me. Also, because she has daddy issues, she puts herself in an orphanage to try and find a family with a dad that she can love like a husband. Obviously doesn't work out, hence the burning down of places and killing of people. I was semi-looking forward to it when I thought it would have something to do with that ghost story about the bride that keeps her head on by tying a ribbon around her neck. Then her new husband can't hold off the curiosity anymore and unties the ribbon on their wedding night, making her head fall off. That would have been a much better movie to do a twist on that story I think.
Wow, what a dumb twist.
Oh, and I know exactly what campfire story you are talking about!! LMAO
LMAO

If I had seen it in the theaters I would most likely walk out pissed thinking that was the best the writers could do. Blech. Wouldn't that story have been SO much better though as a starting off point? I think so at least. Maybe it is just my preference for more classic type horror stories. I loved doing all that RED RUM, light as a feather stiff as a board, Ouiji board stuff when I was younger! This was one of my favorite books:

I also remember the illustrations being super creepy! I want to go out and buy another copy, I think I feel a scary story/movie weekend coming on...
It is so disappointing that the movie could have been good, but they ruined it with a stupid twist.

Night Shamylan and spoiling myself on "The Happening". I was so disappointed with the "twist" that I never bothered watching. (And I'm glad I didn't waste my time/money!)

I actually kind of wanted to go see this, but after reading about the "big twist", I'm not so sure I'm going to anymore.
saw it last night with both of my sisters, that was a mistake lol. The twist was not that bad in my opinion.
I'm the type of person to see a movie and judge it for myself... i didn't read the spoiler, but I have to admit I am excited to see this movie. The Scary Stories to tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz were my favorite.... I just found the book and here is one of the short storis: "The Hearse Song" "Don't you ever laugh as the hearse gos by, For you may be the next to die. They Wrap you up in a big white sheet From your head down to your feet. They put you in a big black box And cover you up with dirt and rocks. All goes well for about a week Then the coffin begins to leak. The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, The worms play pinochle on your snout. They eat your eyes, they eat your nose, They eat the jelly between your toes. A big green worms with rolling eyes Crawls in your stomach and out your eyes. Your stomach turns a slimy green, And puss pours out like whipping cream. You spread it on a slice of bread, And that's what you eat when you are dead." - by Alvn Schwartz. I actually finished most of it by myself :) :) :)
This movie was good. I was skeptical at first. Im usually REALLY hard on movies, but I have to admit that was good. I would give it a B. It's not scary, more suspenseful.
