She may not want to be on this RockSteady, but it would sure be nice.
Heroes vs. Villains seems too common for me. I would hope for something a bit different.
I can see heroes vs. villains being an idea of Jeff Probst's after reading his blogs for the past 2 seasons. And they pretty much have to cave into his demands if they want him to renew his contract.
Not necessarily the last season, in fact they supposedly are saving a lot in their budget by filming back to back and plan to do it like this in the future.
I wouldn't doubt that B, I am just saying Heroes vs. Villains, really? I think they can do better.
I agree. Heroes vs Villains, coupled with the three-peat cast members, seems so RW/RR Challenge to me. Not that RWRR is a bad show but they are separate shows of different calibers and I like them each in different ways. I also think it's going to encourage more producer manipulation. Usually they seem to edit the winner as a "hero" or at least work to make sure the viewers at large aren't dissatisfied. But they can't really use editing as such a big tool if they are going to pre-label them as heroes or villains. So I fear the tool used will be producer manipulation in some form to get a hero to win.
Survivor is a money maker for CBS. I think we will at least see Survivor 25. :D
Pfft I'll be 90 talking about Survivor on Mars haha That is why they keep giving it a chance since it is something that can draw for them. Hopefully they will shell out some solid seasons soon.
Nicely put Sseaann, my issue is that they seem to not care that they rehash the same thing, which makes each season progressively worse in my opinion. In order to balance the fact that casting is getting worse, they need to improve the game, but they have yet to do that.
Here are a couple posts from Sucks that indicate we should hear news next week about our possibility to have a say:

I've heard and this may be wrong so don't crucify me if it doesn't turn out to be true...But when it comes to casting, we may have more say than you imagine...think Big Brother All-Stars. This news should be released early next week based on what I've heard.
I'm not sure if it is from Coby's list, I'm sure the official list will look slightly different. All I've heard is that there is some sort of vote involved, apparently a website is been drawn up and I'm assuming that is what will launch next week.
The information I've recieved myself is vague, so I'm trying to make sense of it. I'm not sure if it means the public will vote who they want to see take part in Season 20 over the next couple of weeks before they head off to Samoa...or the vote relates to some other aspect. It would seem strange voting for who we want to see on a season that doesn't air until next year!

Before this was posted, Diane, the first boot from Survivor Africa, randomly posted a thread titled "news to come" and said "hey all.....been a long time since i've stopped by...but there's some news coming up soon that i'd like your help with. soooo....how's everyone been?"
Additionally, Eliza (who definitely seems to be more in the loop among Survivor alum) posted, addressing Coby, insinuating that he has a big mouth and maybe people lied to him.
It would be smart for EVERYONE to lie to you and tell you the opposite of what they're actually doing. Yes, I told you I'm not going, but you won't know until first week of August when people are actually gone.
There is a Survivor alum event underway in Florida right now (they do it every year) and Billy Garcia (2nd boot of Cook Islands) posted some info on Survivor Skills (post 76). Essentially, Lynne Spillman, the show's casting director, is trying to stack All Stars with her recruits and this is causing a power struggle between she and Jeff Probst and that if Probst does not get his way, he won't renew his contract.
I definitely remember Sierra being personally recruited by Lynne Spillman so unfortunately there may be a good chance of her being on if Lynne gets her way...
He also insinuated that some people at the event were cast for season 20 but did not inform CBS they'd be attending. If they did tell CBS they were booked for the FL event, CBS told them to cancel it. The event list is here. Todd, Courtney and Taj are no-shows/cancels (coupled w/ the fact that Courtney is a Spillman recruit), but there may be a few people on that list who will be in the cast.
The person on Sucks who has said that there is to be "official" news released next week has also now stated that there may be an "internal investigation going on regarding Lynne Spillman and her bias casting decisions."
Billy also made a few more posts, nothing to take note of other than Taj showing up at the event today, and he stated that all of the Survivors he has talked to take Jeff's side over Lynne's. And that CBS/SEG are supporters of the Make a Wish foundation which is what this Florida event is benefitting, so that is why they are letting some of the upcoming All Stars slide and be there.
A poster in this sucks thread who established credibility and a good track record during Gabon has stated that Tina, Boston Rob, Gervase, James and Ozzy are looking good to be part of the cast.
Billy also stated that he heard the cast will be flying to Samoa on August 3rd.
I wouldn't mind seeing Rupert, Alicia, and Taj. I would think that they would have Somoa cast members on. It would seem strange to have an all-star season without all-stars from the last season. Unless all stars was aired first.
I like Taj, but I don't see what makes her an All-Star really.
I agree. She seems like a nice woman, but does nothing for me in the game of Survivor.
Actually, I have been getting a kick out of the names people are throwing around to be on All-Stars being in my honest opinion 95% of those mentioned are what have made the last 7 or 8 seasons much less enjoyable.
I've had my rants on this before, but sitting in camp on your *** scheming with the other do nothings about how to throw out the strongest players does not qualify you for All-Stars. The only reason those type of players are able to make it anywhere in the game these days is because the casts are coddled, given adequate food and water along with a constant flow of amenities like tarps and blankets.
How about instead of the standard formula, right from the start, we just have THE STRONGEST MALE AND FEMALE PLAYERS and cut out the coddling?
I promise you if the cast actually had to SURVIVE, someone like Cirie would have been voted out in week 1. Instead, she cruised right along in her season as there was no penalty for voting out the strongest players.
This major issue has blunted many a Survivor season and is the primary reason I have been disenfranchised from the series these last few years (not to mention casting has gone downhill on all CBS series these last few cycles.)
The Sierra's of this world (not only weak physically, but stupid) have no business being on an All-Star season.
p.s. And before we get into the "but, but Sierra made it far in the game!" bull****, let's get one thing straight - She was carried until she was no longer needed and then discarded. At only one time in the game did she hold any power and instead of wielding it, she followed orders and was rewarded by being voted off the next week.
Yes...I'm bitter. ;)
Sierra is amazing. If does not make it I wouldn't be devastated but I would be very, very excited if she were to be on. I think they should do a season in the cold. Like in New Zeland.
Bacchus I think you make some good points there, in an ideal season I would love for the stronger players, both physically and mentally, to make it to the end. And for an All-Star season I think they need to invite all the strong players back. In AS1 I honestly didnt think that Shii Ann, Alicia, Amber, JennaL, or Boston Rob were true "all-stars" they were physical competitors which made it alright in the end because they ended up being good players, but they werent the best.
However I would have to disagree with you about Sierra, I think she was a good competitor and I loved how she told it like it was, I think physically she wasnt that weak either.
And I dont like it that they are inviting people who have already played the game twice. I want some other people to get a second chance!
