What Could Be Done to Improve the Challenges?

TJ- Fresh Meat is still at MTV (at least as of a week ago it was) I miss Theo too... I was bummed that he and Timmy never did another challenge together. It's hard to believe that BotSeasons was the only one they ever did together. To be honest, at the time, I wasn't a big fan of The Miz. I thought he was cute and he seemed like a nice guy, but they shoved him down our throats so much. I remember Inferno 2 he had a pointless confessional about how much he loved the Inferno part 2! I was just like, "Really now?"
I didn't know they still had that on mtv.com, thanks for the heads up, I'll have to check it out, especially since you said the magic word: Theo. Now HE needs to come back.
I found cast pictures all the way back to Gauntlet 1 hidden within the MTV site.
I found cast pictures all the way back to Gauntlet 1 hidden within the MTV site.
I believe all of the websites from the challenges are still up, they just don't have any videos on them (that was before they put full episodes on their site).

I ran across the old Challenges with the current MTV layout under a Yahoo! search, but all they have are the cast photos. :ohwell: For example: RW/RR Challenge: The Gauntlet - Road Rules Cast | MTV Photo Gallery
Theo V. <333333 One of his great lines on the first episode, oh and all of the first episode might not be there. "Who are these kids? Its not like I go their job and try to out latte them".
Theo V sucks ***. I hope he never does another challenge again. He tries way to hard to be funny I've never laughed at ANYTHING he says (just like Evan).
Ahhh squeeze me!lol jk jk:p but I beg to differ D.A. That line that jjlucash just qouted from Theo is an example of funny stuff Theo has said. It was in the intro of that first episode. When Evelyn walks in and Chanda he's like "Who are these kids and what are they doing here?you know its not like I go to Starbucks to there job and try to outlatte them or something".
Theo V sucks ***. I hope he never does another challenge again. He tries way to hard to be funny I've never laughed at ANYTHING he says (just like Evan).
I think Theo is funny, but he does try too hard at times. Evan just isn't funny period.
I think Theo is funny, but he does try too hard at times. Evan just isn't funny period.
Come on, Evan is funny at least a little bit, lol. He says some crazy stuff sometimes especially his commentary on Duel 2.

Theo was an overrated competitor too. He'd get dominated by the modern day gladiators of the challenge.
I really like Theo. He's funnier than Evan.

Yeah, I'd have to agree that Theo is funnier than Evan, which is mainly because I find Evan as funny as...well...TJ (or someone who is just NOT FUNNY AT ALL). But Theo was also "clever" as a competitor. He was good at puzzles, so he's fairly athletic and smart. Evan, on the other hand, is strong, but he seems far less clever than someone like Theo does to me. That said, I'd much rather have a guy like Theo on the challenge than Evan. I read someone's post about how the casts mainly depend on who accepts the invites or whatever. Well, in that case, just make the casts smaller. I mean look at the Infernos where only 20 people were used versus the Gauntlets where like 32 people were used. Having smaller casts means that you don't need to use so many people over and over. I think you could even get away with having 16 people or 18 people on a challenge and have just 1 ultimate winner. If Survivor can do it, then at least that concept is possible. With using so many less people, you don't have to constantly use Evan 40 times to fill up the roster. And I'm real excited about Veronica coming back. I felt like RR: Viewer's Revenge was a wasted season with Veronica on the Pit Crew practically the whole time (well that was ONE of the reasons why the season was bad)
Theo and Evan both are not funny. I didnt read the whole thread since its 40 pages long but I think the main thing that could be done to improve challenges is ban any and every Fresh Meat castmember from coming back. It was a novel idea that shouldve been done only on their season. These people are not from Real World or Road Rules, thus they should not have the privelage of being on anymore challenges besides the one that was intended for them. Every season they take an interesting person's spot and they all ban together and vote off people who are more valuable to these shows then they are. Ban them and let's give some actual Real World and Road Rules castmembers a chance to prove themselves. Who knows with the extra spots that the FM's would leave maybe we could get old schoolers back on these things.

Its up to the "old schoolers" if they want to accept a challenge invitation, a lot of them have lives now.
I know it will never happen, it's too good of an idea to come to fruition. But even if the spots didnt go to old school castmembers at least the spots would be filled with more recent castmembers that we have yet to see on a challenge. True it is up to the "old schoolers" to accept the invites but a lot have wanted to do challenges like Shayne (RR6), Jon (RR5), Kendall (RR11) and Glen (RW2) to name a few and are never asked. I say ban the Fresh Meat and invite these four among some others and you'd have an instant classic. Instead we have the same FM castmembers every season with their continually boring storlyines fouling up every single challenge.

Kendall was a replacement on the Island, but nobody needed replaced. I do agree with you about cast diversity. It seems like the same drama every challenge. Honestly, banning FM is something that will never happen.
I want Shane to do a challenge again :( I loved him. It'd be interesting to see the dynamic between him and some of the new people, especially since the last challenge he did was FM and now some of them are the "top dogs" (ha. ha.)

I wouldve rather have seen her than anyone on The Island's cast especially the Fresh Meaters and Johnny. Kendall should be one of those people to be immediately cast, yet they reserve the speed dial to losers like Evan, Evelyn, Big Sleazy, Kenny, Casey, and Diem. This just makes me sick seeing them all of the time. Not one of them, in my eyes, have never added anything memorbale to these challenges besides being the most annoying people there. If I was a former RW'er or RR'er I wouldnt do a challenge as long as any of them were on it so I dont blame a lot of people for not coming back.

I don't think Kendall had to pull teeth, she was in school, and has a son. The FM cast members are friends a lot of the other cast members, including the older ones, I doubt it has to anything with FM. People move on.
I think what it basically comes down to is that a lot of people get calls but only the handful of people who we see on every challenge actually say they're available to do it. I'm sure Coral and Theo V., for example, get calls for every challenge, but they say they can't.

The ruins was actually supposed to be taped 6 weeks later, which is why we referred to it as the "summer challenge" before. Then they moved it up 6 weeks earlier. I'm sure more cast members would have been available in the summer.
For all of you who say don't invite FM back, I disagree. I don't think they ruin the challenges. But we don't need 6 of them on every challenge. True, a lot of the FM kids are annoying. But they would have qualified to be on the Austin or Key West seasons. The majority of people who find the FM kids annoying also find people like Johnny, Paula, Danny, Johanna and Tyler annoying. I don't think the FM kids are annoying because they were on FM. It's just that casting around that time wasn't too great. I also agree that they should put older cast members who are winning to do challenges on. It's true Kendal had to beg to even be concidered for the Island, which is such a shame. She would have made me ten times more excited for the season.
I hope Kendall comes back. She is cool and seems down to earth.
I believe that one of the things that kinda made things a bit unfair about The Duel 2 was that nearly all the challenges as well as eliminations had something to do with heights. That was one primary reason why many seasoned competitors, especially from the female side, weren't winning as much as they usually did on prior Challenges. Because there wasn't a 50-50 balance of half of the competitions having heights involved and the other half not involving it at all, the end result would indeed have been different and most definitely have provided a different set of 6 finalists. My whole point is that the designers who come up with the challenge ideas should always keep balance on what type of competition it'll be.
Casey should have been on The Duel 2. Only because seeing her on those heights challenges would have made me laugh until I cried.

People move on.
From what I remember, and I could be wrong, she had to campaign on her MySpace page to be asked to do it. There were also online petitions (one of which I signed) to get her cast for The Island. She basically had to make it be known that she was dying to do the challenge to even be asked and all she got was a replacement spot? When was the last time you heard of anyone making it public knowledge that they wanted to be on a challenge? Total ****, poor thing. The producers couldve thrown her a bone and let her compete. She obviously needed the money since she is a newly single mother, is probably struggling and could use the extra money that a challenge would give her, instead we got stuck with one of the worst casts ever in challenge history.

When I spoke to Abram a few months back he is the one who broke the news to me that he was engaged to her before anyone on the net knew about it. He also said that both he and Coral were asked to do The Duel 2 but both turned it down because they couldnt stand the current people who run the challenges (Fresh Meaters and Johnny amongst others). So all you Coral fans have the Fresh Meat kids to thank for Coral and probably others never coming back to do a challenge. Abram said Coral is done and will probably never do one again.

The only one who was supposed to be on Key West but turned it down was Evan, thank god he wasnt on that show, he wouldve ruined that season too. True casting for the shows wasn't that great but Fresh Meat are the kids who weren't good enough to make Austin and Key West two very weak casts in my opinion already. So basically FM are the bottom of the barrel and thus they poision every challenge where theres 100 of them on which seems to be every single challenge.
