Miami Average-23.28 (If followed by the younger ages in molds' post) 24.14(If followed by older ages) San Diego Average- 21.14 (If followed by Jacquese's younger age listed; original cast only) 21.29(If followed by Jacquese's older age listed) - Was Charlie a replacement? I never watched the San Diego season, so I wouldn't know.
- Was Charlie a replacement? I never watched the San Diego season, so I wouldn't know.
Charlie was a replacement for Frankie. He only appeared in 3 episodes, but I was told that he was actually in the house for the same amount of time that Frankie was (and she appeared in 23 episodes).
What I don't understand about Charlie is his birthday is supposedly May 4, 1984, which would make him 19 at the time of filming (August 2003). That doesn't make him the youngest Real Worlder ever...

I wonder if he was maybe 18 during the auditioning process and that's where MTV got the age for that page...

San Diego broadcast in January 2004. This is why I don't like Wikipedia...they had Frankie's age wrong on there as well, and some effed up reasoning as to why she was he age she was at the bottom.
I meant to say that he would have been 20 by the time his episodes aired(and probably the time his profile would have been put up on the MTV website since I'm assuming it was added later than the other 7); he was only in three, and the finale aired June 29 so yeah. Sorry I didn't mention that first xD

Oh yeah, absolutely. That's fine.
But if there's only four of you, how can you have three who are African-American and two who are Hispanic? That would make five. Or are you referring to your entire cast? EDIT: If I'm thinking correctly, you meant to say that RW Cancun consists of three girls who have African-American backgrounds (Jasmine, Jonna, and Ayiiia?), and two also have hispanic backgrounds (Jonna and Ayiiia?). If you add Derek, who is hispanic, that would make 4 of you that are of non-white backgrounds. Would you care to elaborate on who's who to aid in our research? It would help greatly...:D
I'm a quarter African American. Ayiiia is Mexican, Spanish (I believe, may be wrong) and Puerto Rican Jonna is half African American, half Caucasian Jasmine is African American. And Derek is Mexican.
Im From North Carolina (We have the 9th biggest population in the United States) and NO ONE that was on Real World is from here. That is crazy!! Lol.
Im From North Carolina (We have the 9th biggest population in the United States) and NO ONE that was on Real World is from here. That is crazy!! Lol.
North Carolina is a big, little state (I lived their for four years.) For as many people as there are total, the cities are not that awe inspiring (Raleigh is a ghost town/bore.) There is too much sprawl because the cities were relatively small in the mid 1950's when the interstate system was put in place and they have never really sprouted up. Instead you see large expanding metro areas and a massive suburbia of small structures with moderate population density. You can basically see all of uptown Charlotte on a good evening and don't waste your time in Greensboro. I love North Carolina, but beyond maybe Wilmington in the summer - I just don't see it being a good home to the show.
Yeah I stay in Durham (Near Raleigh) and I go to school in Greensboro (you are right about that, lol) but yeah im just suprised how no one from Real World is from here. I think though Shane went to UNC-Chapel Hill and Latterian from Road Rules was from here.
Wow, Latterian is from Earth after all.
Here is the rule of thumb from my casting experience. When you cast to fill the diversity box, you luck out if you find good people. When you cast good people and they just happen to be diverse, too, you have hit the jackpot. No one watches politically correct TV, because it never is any good.
Says who? Its still not "real" because they are after all other groups of people in the world...
Not that it matters now since most of the data has been compiled but as a fan of the older seasons of Real World I wanted to suggest some corrections:
Real World Age Statistics: The Real World: New York: 22.14 Oldest Roommate(s): Kevin Powell & Norman Korpi - 25 Youngest Roommate(s): Julie Gentry - 18
Julie was actually 19.
The Real World: London: 21.29 Oldest Roommate(s): Lars Schlichting & Neil Forrester - 24 Youngest Roommate(s): Sharon Gitau, Jay Frank, Kat Ogden
Jay and Kat were the youngest at 19. Sharon was 20.
The Real World: Seattle:20.33 [does not include Janet Choi] Oldest Roommate(s): Irene McGee, Nathan Blackburn, & Lindsay Brien - 21 Youngest Roommate(s): Rebecca Lord - 19
Irene was 22 (the oldest). Stephen was also 19 when filming first started.
The Real World: New Orleans:21.57 Oldest Roommate(s): David Broom, Danny Roberts, Melissa Howard, Jamie Murray - 22 Youngest Roommate(s): Julie Stoffer, Kelley Limp, Matt Smith - 21
Kelley was actually the oldest at 23. I remember because Danny, David, Melissa, Jamie were all born in '77, a few years apart from me. Also, Julie was 20 (the youngest) when the show was filmed in early 2000.
The Real World: Chicago: 21.57 Oldest Roommate(s): Chris Beckman - 24 Youngest Roommate(s): Theo Gantt III - 19
I thought both Theo and Aneesa were the same age (19?). I remember when when RW Chicago premiered they pointed out her birthday (9/11) and them bonding over being a few days apart (Theo's coming first)? http://www.gay.com/entertainment/news/?sernum=110 Also, Pam was 25 when filming started but she turned 26 mid-season just like Kevin from Real World NY did (the birthday party episode brings back memories, lol), so I guess both of them could be considered the oldest, even though Kevin is officially the oldest Real Worlder of all time (he turned 43 several weeks ago). Under the cities in another post, Tami from Real World Los Angeles is listed as being from LA but she's actually from White Plains, NY. Sorry if it seems nitpicky, I'm just a numbers person and was fascinated by the spreadsheets, the colorful graphs and wanted to help where I could. LOL.
I remember for the Las Vegas season all the roommates had to be 21. I also heard a rumor (not sure if its true) but the Philadelphia cast couldn't be people that were currently in college so that's why a lot of the cast members are older same as the Denver cast. (Can anyone confirm this?) And also if you haven't noticed in recent seasons the cast members are not below the age of 20 (after typing all of this I just realize do they even cast people that are still in college anymore?)
Alex (Denver) was still in college.
Oh Ok thanks

CJ has already graduated from UMASS.

Oh, and what might this be CM?
Oh, and what might this be CM?
That would be a representation of Colie's diverse background. It is also my Rabbi. Colie will be hosting the Good deeds awards for them tonight. Who would of thunk??????????????
That would be a representation of Colie's diverse background. It is also my Rabbi. Colie will be hosting the Good deeds awards for them tonight. Who would of thunk??????????????
Awww, she looks beautiful!
As for the missing ages: MIAMI (Filming date sometime in 1996): Sarah: 11/3/1970 (25) Dan: 7/2/74 (21/22) Melissa: 6/2/73 (22/23) Flora: 9/18/71 (24/25) Mike: 9/30/71 (24/25) Joe: 5/22/70 (25/26) Cynthia: 10/26/73 (22/23)
All the early seasons (pre-Chicago) were filmed in the winter/spring and then aired in summer/fall of the same year. So all of the Miami cast would have been the younger age listed when their filming took place.
That would be a representation of Colie's diverse background. It is also my Rabbi. Colie will be hosting the Good deeds awards for them tonight. Who would of thunk??????????????
That is so precious!!
I just went back and looked at the graphs for the states, and there are no Real Worlders from Maryland! I know we're a small state, but I'd like to see someone repping Baltimore, or even Washington DC.
I remember for the Las Vegas season all the roommates had to be 21. Shavonda and Melanie were both 21 when either the season started or sometime during the casting process. Landon said he was a seventh year senior at UW Madison during the show. Sarah and MJ had graduated from undergraduate school (and Sarah was accepted to UF for law school). Karamo may have graduated as well, but they listed him as a "former FAMU student" instead of a graduate like they did with MJ, so I'm not completely sure about him. Some of the ages listed for the cast members in various seasons were the ages they were during casting or when they started the show, so all of them aren't going to be accurate as to what age they were on the show most of the time. Different sources list different things. I think some of the bios were the listed ages before the show began. I got the Back to New York ages from the book, but those ages were from their applications. I know for sure that Malik celebrated a birthday during the season, since there was an episode centered around it. Coral must have had a birthday before the show started (or during but not shown?) because her birthday is in January, and I remember one of the months they filmed the show was February, because they were celebrating Valentine's day.
Real World Geography Statistics: Houston, Texas: Karamo Brown (Real World: Philadelphia), Alex Smith (Real World: Denver), & Jasmine Reynaud (Real World: Cancun)
You can add Justin (Hawaii) to the list, he is from Kingwood which is a suburb of Houston.
I have to agree blanky....the most diverse cast I have ever seen was RW:Hollywood (5 African Americans) and RW:Cancun (2 Hispanics, 1 African American, and 1 girl who's mix). I think the Real World should be a little more diverse. Since it is abou the Real World. I'm Hispanic, and I will love to see an Asian person, or someone who orgins are from the middle east. I live in NY and I could count with fingers how many people I know from this group. I will love to learn more about them.
You forgot that Real World San Fransisco was very diverse that season had 2 latinos, one asian, one black and one jewish person. Also if you want to count Jo who is from England.
Jewish is a religion.
