Most of the Fresh Meat peeps haven't done ANYTHING that was interesting or memorable and I'm willing to bet that they wouldn't be all that good on a season Of Real World Or Road Rules. The only ones I could see that would MAYBE Bring something to the table would be Kenny and Evelyn. The rest are just not interesting and/or One Trick Ponies.
I'm just stating my opinion here. I hope I'm not coming off as rude or anything.
Different strokes for different folks. Its cool. I think Evan and Kenny are hilarious, while some people find them to be annoying.
I agree, different strokes for different folks. I think some people's opinions of Evan and Kenny have gone up and down over the years. It happens with even the RW and RR castmembers.
I don't think Debut Album was trying to be rude. They said as much in their post. But I agree, different strokes for different folks. I think some people's opinions of Evan and Kenny have gone up and down over the years. It happens with even the RW and RR castmembers.
Thats not what I meant by his post but I get what you mean,
I have a love hate relationship with Evan...lol.
Yeah, I thought Evan was OK on FM, and I didn't think he was really bad on The Duel, either. It was just G3 that made me see him differently. He's had a couple of weeks on Duel 2 in which he hasn't bothered me so much, though.
This is not the place to debate cast member's roles. It is a thread for people to post ideas about how the challenges can be improved. If the topic has run its course, it will be closed.
Okay V1.
Back on topic.
So my Ideas are...
1. Make a challenge format that doesn't make it easy for one big alliance to control things.
2. Cast LESS Fresh Meat and/or cast some that we haven't seen a dozen times.
3. A better mix of Challenges
4. Get a more Diverse cast. I swear the casts on these challenges are so recyled and repetitive(same goes for the drama that is if there is any)
5.I hate when they show things that are in the trailer. But aren't in the actual episode. If it's in the trailer it's in show.

I do agree with most of this. They really need a more diverse cast. I don't think Fresh Meat are that bad that they should cast less. But they should stop casting people like Ryan and Eric. The others that do challenges are good and I don't mind seeing them again. They need to bring the Fresh Meats that they haven't used. I read on one of the threads that the producers thought Aviv was "boring" that why she wasn't invited back. In my opinion, people like Paula and Robin are boring. I don't know why they keep getting invited.
So I think good way to improve challenges, is to cast fresh faces, have a diverse cast (mixture of vets) and get rid of people who only get on tv for airtime and to complain.
First suggestion, no more Fresh Meat people. They're annoying and not funny.
My second suggestion, which is actually how they used to do things I believe, is to not let people who won a previous challenge go on the challenge immediately after. I think maybe don't let any of the people who make it to the end do the next challenge. That way the same people don't keep winning over and over again.
Just my two cents.
Just thought of another one, and I believe they used to do this.
When Timmy lost due to a DQ on the Inferno 3 and he announced it would be his last challenge, they had clips of him on his season and the challenges he did, at the end.
I haven't seen this done since Gauntlet 3 but I remember after Zach's elimination, they had clips of him having fun throughout the challenge.
They don't really do that anymore but I remember them doing it for the older challenges.

I hope BMP is reading this thread! I would like a great intro that has personality, the names of the seasons in which each cast member came from in the confessionals when their names pop up on the bottom, and constant effects that make the show entertaining. The intro for the "Inferno 1" was great. It had a nice catchy song and it actually had the castmembers doing something, as opposed to just smiling and walking towards the camera...

I think the reason they do openings like that now are probably because there are 900 people in each cast these days so it takes less time. But I do agree with you... Inferno I had a cool opening. Actually I think BOTSEXES I had the best though.
Battle of the Sexes was my favorite opening, I may be in the minority but I did enjoy Duel 2's opening. Actually the only opening that I didn't like was the Inferno 3, and the Island. (And those were my least favorite challenges, oddly enough).
Edit: The first Duel's opening was kind of lame too.
While I'm not a fan of the Duel 2 opening, at least they were trying to be creative, which is more for what we can say with the ones with people just smiling or walking towards the camera.
They need cool openings like the original Battle of the Sexes again.

You don't know how much I agree with you on that. That opening was very fun and entertaining unlike most of the openings now. The Inferno 1 had A good opening too (Yellowcard <333333).
So yeah better openings.
I actually dont think anything needs to be done to fix them. I was on the bandwagon of the first few challenge seasons were better than newer ones, but having gone back and watched Extreme, BotSex 1 & 2, BotSeas, The Gaunt 1, The Inferno 1 and comparing them to newer seasons, it really isnt much better. They are on the same level overall.
the Island was awful, no doubt about it. And Fresh meat was pretty dull, but 100% needed. Aside from those two I have really enjoyed all the seasons.
I think a lot of nostalgia goes into the mindset of older challenges were better. I am not trying to say i am right and you are wrong, its all matter of opinion therefor nobody is right or wrong. Its just something i see a lot with a lot of tv shows.
I also think the fact that people dont love the past 6 seasons of RW and refuse to accept FM as real cast members plays into this.
I think the biggest thing is to cast the right people. I do think it's possible for a great cast with the recent casts (in fact I'm working on a fanfic with a very large cast consisting of the newer seasons), it's just picking the right ones.
I think that with Brooklyn and Cancun joining the challenges soon, casting might be better. Mainly because I think Cancun cast can bring the drama and as of now most of them seem like they'd be willing to do a challenge.

I disagree.
For me it's not the nostalgia it's the fact that the castmembers that were doing the challenges back then were more interesting, and fun to watch. Therefore the challenges were more intersting and fun. We don't have stuff like Puck's wedding, Katie Vs Veronica, Sarah going into the Gauntlet almost every time and coming out on top, Chadwick and Holly messing up The Road Rules team. The challenges now don't have those memorable moments and I don't think they ever will. People say that the old challenges were better becasue they were.
Plus The Fresh Meat really aren't real castmembers no matter how many challeges they do and how much they win they will NEVER be legit castmembers.

Different strokes for different Folks, because i find the drama level the same. I cared more about older cast members because i felt i knew them above the typical sexsexsex that real world became, but the drama is there.
And the issue you said about fresh meat is why The Challenge is doomed to die. RR is GONE. and there is a slim to none chance of it ever coming back. So without Fresh Meat this would be The Real World Cast Members Challenge featuring 1-2 Token Road Rulers who are now almost 30. Fresh Meat was, IMHO, a new version of Road Rules using a challenge formula to try and draw people in. The Challenge is no longer, and has not been for some time now, Road Rules vs Real World. In fact more seasons have not been RW vs RR than have been.
The people from FM were cast by the same people who cast RW. Kenny was even casted on The Real World but dropped out.

Sometimes the new shows have situations like Sarah's. Like Evan being voted in everytime and he came out on top...

Yeah but I didn't really care or have a vested intrest in those like I did with Sarah (well I was praying to god that Evan would get sent home on the Duel 2 so I guess that counts).
At this point, I think they really need more cast members. It seems like everyone shows up at these challenges with pre-determined alliances. For the most part, this did not happen on older challenges, and newbies were given the chance to prove themselves. It was BOTS2 where there were pre-determined alliances came on the show, and newbies started getting voted off because they were newbies.
I also think the drama in the shows is terribly edited. Like the Dan/Robin fight on The Island or Nehemiah/Evan on The Duel 2.
The last challenge that I truely enjoyed was The Inferno 3, but I probably only liked it so much because I love Cara and Susie.
The only way to fix the challenges is to put the show on a two year hiatus then reformat the show.
Why two years? What changes are they going to make in two years that they can't in... one, or 6 months?
I'd hate to see a hiatus, I love these challenges too much :)

I know! A hiatus would be terrible. I'm addicted to these challenges. Haha, i hope they never stop doing them.

We got until Season 21 until they renew the contracts.
