Yeah totally agree what's ******* me off even more is they got the original cast on board for this and this can only mean one thing cameo apperances.I don't know how in the **** there planning to reboot this with the original cast...its plain out stupid!
LOL, So I take it you don't like remakes??
I like some remakes, but remaking Scream is ********. The movie isn't old enough, and there is 0 way they can make it better.
You know studios are suffering when they are remaking every horror film possible!!!
They will probably be remaking The Ring next year (which was a remake of a Japanese fim)!
To be fair, it's a reboot not a remake. It is still in the same timeline, etc. Courteney, Neve, and David just may not have big roles if any at all. Courteney and David are in talks for cameos in the movie though. They will just be following a new group of people. They just aren't calling it "Scream 4" because then people will assume it will follow Sidney, Gail, and Dewey and that is not necessarily true.
The thing I really don't like about this is I feel they will turn this movie into exactly what Scream was a satire of to begin with. Scream was a movie that poked fun at the horror genre and itself. I fear this one will just be your typical slasher film with no real humor or self-awareness.
My main problem with this movie in general is that it is based off of Sidney, Gale, and Dewey. Without them, the movie has no value at least in my opinion. Adding in new characters isn't a problem, but giving the others cameos doesn't bode well with me.
RockSteady, plus why would they remake a movie, that is amazing, but is a spoof in its own sense.
Scream isn't a spoof. Its an homage to the horror genre. Whereas Scary Movie was the parody/spoof.
Zachary, it isn't a spoof in that sense, but it wasn't meant to be an homage. It was meant to obliviously state the obvious elements of horror movies, etc.
Making Scream 4 would either require it not being a spoof or play off of horror, or just a terrible reboot. Actually I shouldn't say that because I don't know that it will be bad.

I think we are all freaking out, but Wes is making me less nervous, and it seems as though, it isn't a reboot, or a remake, but sadly, there may be no Neve.

That's actually an old article from around February or March before this whole reboot was announced. I know it's dated today but I read this awhile ago and if you look closely, it says "The Last House on the Left" will be "coming out Friday" and that movie came out earlier this year. So unfortunately it seems the movie will be more like what these newer articles are saying.
Neve is IN! Williamson is writing the script now, and it shoots in spring. Apparently, Craven tweeted that he had lunch with KW and he said the script is fantastic so far!
:::crosses fingers:::: Come onnnn, Wes!
Scream used to be my favorite movie, not even just I loved it, but I was obsessed, and a little to young to be watching a horror movie that much actually. My mom jokes now that sometimes she would get a little worried that I watched it so much.
Even when I watch it now around Halloween with my friends, they get so mad at me because I know all the lines.
I am happy it isn't a remake, but this idea makes me nervous. I loved how the trilogy ended, and I don't want Neve to come back only for them to kill Sidney. I don't want Dewey or Gail to die for that matter either.
If they are going to reboot the series by tying in the old characters, I think make it so Sid/Dewey/Gail aren't the main targets but get involved somehow and usher in the new bunch without destroying their characters.

Word on the street is that Sid won't die, but who knows. Everything is just speculation at this point.
I liked 3, but I didn't love it. I think they can make a much, much better movie. I can't believe they handed 3 off to Ehren Kruger. 3 could've and should've been way better.
I agree there were issues with Scream 3. I would have liked to have known what the original script outline was like.
That said, if I want to nitpick, I had some issues with Scream 2. Although it was a vast improvement from the original draft of the script.

I liked 2 a lot actually. First off, I'm a huge Sarah Michelle Gellar fan. Secondly, Laurie Metcalf is AMAZING.
I was a huge fan of the Scream Trilogy. I am so excited to see what we have in store with this one.
I used to be the biggest horror fan... Now, I'm sorta chicken. haha I don't even remember the last time I watched a scary movie. Is it because I'm getting old?
I love SMG, and Laurie Metcalfe from Roseanne, but considering the original script had Halle and Mickey being the killers, with Billy's mom not at all in the story if and I can remember, Cotton being really creepy and gross, and not being a media hound.
I've heard two different rumors. I have heard that Sid will die, I have also heard that they may be doing a complete remake as they have apparently asked the entire cast from scream 1 to come back for Scream 4. I found this in an interview with Jamie Kennedy a few months back.

This is an amazing idea; Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan and Courtney Cox!!! Simply Amazing...

What was the motive for Hallie to be a killer? That makes....like zero sense.
