Celebrity Rehab

I've never been a big fan of this show, but I wold like to see Joey just to see how he's doing. And lol @ Rodman going from the Apprentice to Rehab (not that he shouldn't).

So I have to admit I'm on the fence about the CR/Intervention phenomenon. On one hand its good to have a program that seems to be about genuinely helping people, and there are people at home who could probably get something good out of it. Plus Dr. Drew is more credible than say. . .Steve Ward. But something about sensationalizing people's trials and tribulations feels a little icky to me, I'm trying to get over it though. Plus it seems like after every thing Dr. Drew talks about re: the correlation between fame and addiction, wouldn't extending these people's 15 minutes ultimately be more harmful than helpful? I don't know, like I said, I'm on the fence but I'll probably check it out, especially the sex rehab one. So dumb question, who is Joey Kovar? Nevermind, I'll google it. Lisa from ANTM is a hot mess, Heidi Fleiss - she probably needs celeb rehab AND celeb sex addiction, Dennis Rodman - glad he is getting help. The rest of them don't really know (except MP) but I'm sure I'll recognize faces, that's how it usually goes.

That was the season that got me interested in watching RW again. Joey left in the beginning of the season to go to rehab.

Some day I'll have to check it out!

My professional background is in the field of addiction and recovery- and as a social worker the concept of confidentiality is beat into you. Also, AA really hinges on the idea of keeping what is said in the rooms of AA in the rooms. BUT...I have watched the show last season, and found that I enjoyed it. It really holds to the traditions and principles of AA- and I won't argue with anything that shows others how to work the program. And it's final bonus point for me- our detox unit only lets the clients watch recovery related things, and they will watch all the marathons of CR, so I tend to disappear from my office for a few hours of "face to face time" with clients. On the couch. In front of the TV.

I was just skimming through Vh1 and to my surprise, I found the cast for Celebrity Rehab with none other than Joey Kovar from the RW Hollywood. There is also Dennis Rodman, Heidi Fleiss, Mindy McCready, Lisa D'Amato, Mike Starr, and Kari Ann Peniche.
