Castle
Is anyone planning on sampling Castle tonight on ABC after Dancing with the D-list? From ABC:
Cross a mystery novelist with a rock star and you would get Richard Castle. He's got Jagger's swagger and James Bond's way with the ladies. Although the handsome writer seems to have everythingfame, fans, and femaleshe's grown weary of it all. In fact, he's just killed off the legendary character who's sold millions of books for him. But when a real-world copycat murderer starts staging murder scenes from Nick's novels and NYPD Detective Beckett asks him for help, Nick feels the old blood pumping in his veins again. Is it the thrill of the chaseor the fact that Beckett is a strikingly beautiful woman? When Nick's freewheeler detective style clashes with Beckett's conservative approach, the sparks certainly flyleading to both danger and a hint of romance. Keeping him grounded are his washed-up Broadway diva mother and his quick-witted teenage daughter; his poker playing buddies James Patterson, Sue Grafton, and Stephen King; and his long-suffering ex-wife Gina, who also happens to be his editor. From producer Armyan Bernstein (Spy Game, The Guardian, Children of Men) comes a comedic crime procedural centered around smooth yet self-effacing literary phenomenon Nick Castle. If it was a book, you wouldn't be able to put it down.
" I thought it looked cute and will probably give it a shot being I have nothing else going on in that time slot on Monday night. Nathan Fillion is a funny guy and although I didn't get the full Firefly effect (I only watched the so-so movie) I have been looking forward to seeing him in another role on a show I would watch (i.e. Desperate Housewives does not count.) YouTube - Castle premieres ABC Monday March 9th
The commercials for the show suggest that Fillion's acting style will be the same in Castle as it was in Firefly and Serenity. That makes the show watchable for a while for his fans. Overall, it looks like this may be good ensemble casting, but you always have to wonder about mid-season replacements.
Three words. Nathan Fillion....Yummmmmm P.S. (more words) B, I've been a fan of Nathan since the early 90's when he was on Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (later known as Two Guys and a Girl). And stop judging Firefly on the movie! Watch the TV show episodes.
I still remember him as Joey from One Life to Live, but I enjoyed Captain Tightpants as well. Still this show doesn't really do it for me. Playboy, fun loving guy clashes with uptight, law biding female, sexual tension ensues. Yeah this is totally a fresh concept, never ever in my entire tv/movie viewing life have I seen that done before. . . I think he's an underrated actor though so hopefully the show does well but I'll probably be taking a pass (plus I'm boycotting ABC at the moment anyways so it all works out) Would love for the entertainment industry to take a nice big shot of originality in the arm though.

She needs your vote!
Who's that and why does she need my vote pray tell?

Heck, the biggest blockbusters every summer are always sequels and remakes. It all depends on what kind of spin the writers take to add new life to the framework. Also, with this premiering after DWTS, it should have a huge base audience which means its chances for survival are better than average. p.s. I guess I'll watch, just to get the number to call and vote for Melissa, lol.

I don't watch the bachelor but Rock/Flavor of Love are essentially Jerry Springerized versions of the Bachelor and I watch those shows. I do hope it does well, I like Fillion as an actor and it is getting a huge advantage coming behind the hot mess that is dwts. I've just googled Melissa from the Bachelor to find out why everyone wants to vote for her. She'll probably do well, getting dumped on national tv has it's privleges, she'll probably end up better off.

I recorded it. I'll definitely be watching! Nathan Fillion is incredibly underrated and extremely talented and funny. I hope it's good!
I recorded it. I'll definitely be watching! Nathan Fillion is incredibly underrated and extremely talented and funny. I hope it's good!
I recorded it as well. I'll give it a run through tomorrow when I have a chance.
I enjoyed it. They packed in a lot of foreshadowing for future episodes but that happens in every good pilot. It must suck for the actors who have to play the dumb cop roles. That can't be much fun.

I just watched it! I loved it, oddly enough. Usually I don't like Broadcast Cop Dramas, or series that are episodic in nature (like House) but this one was fun and funny! Fillion can play a character like Castle really well, and the female lead, Stana Katic, was very good too! (I just looked up Katic and she was Collette Stenger from 24: Day 5!) Castle wins. I hope each episode is as good!
I just looked up Katic and she was Collette Stenger from 24: Day 5!
I knew there was something familiar about her! I thought Castle was great. Lighthearted fun that moved at a good pace. I can see all sorts of side stories deriving from the premise. I'll be tuning in tomorrow.

Solid second episode!
Solid second episode!
I enjoyed it. I even recommended it to a few family members who subsequently watched it and thanked me as they're hooked. The leads have great chemistry and that often makes or breaks a show.

And then when it ends...WATCH IT AGAIN.
I'm still enjoying this show although the ratings have taken a slide and it is falling off the cusp as far as renewal (which is really too bad.) The last half hour this past Monday was in the 8 million viewers range, which is horrible coming off of Dancing with the Stars. Hopefully it gets some love in this soft television market as I personally think it is a full hour of great comedy and chemistry.

Do you know how many episodes are set to air?? Tonight was episode 5 right?
I'm still loving it! I hope it gets renewed. Do you know how many episodes are set to air?? Tonight was episode 5 right?
Renewal is looking worse each week. Still, I plan on enjoying it until the end no matter the prognosis. IMDB has it slated for a ten episode run.

Also - I think every single show I'm currently watching is getting cancelled lol
Renewed!
This is good news. I really got into this series and actually got a few friends into it as well. Nothing heavy, but rather a humor filled hour with police drama backdrop.
Anyone else been sticking with Castle? I watch every week, love it and the ratings continue to climb. As of right now, it should be a shoe in for a season 3, which is perfect as the the leads are finally moving in the direction every fan has wanted to see from the beginning.
I watched the episode with Alyssa Milano a couple of weeks ago. It's not a bad show.

I like it. It can be a little cheesy, but I think it's supposed to be. And I just love the actresses that play Castle's mom and daughter.
I LOVE Castle. If nothing else I get to see Nathan Fillion on my screen every week. I agree that the characters are finally starting to grow and they are dealing with the little dramas and subplots nicely. I also like that Ryan and Esposito are getting to be something besides the dumb cop sidekicks. I believe that Castle beat out CSI:Miami this week! I think it was a rerun but I'll take what can get. That has to be a great sign for a likely renewal right? With HIMYM getting renewed, Chuck doing really well so far and Castle gaining some steam, it's looking good for most of my favorite shows so far!
I love Nathan Fillion. God knows I do. But I had to, had to, had to give up on Castle. There's just not enough arc for me. New scenarios each week, more characters I don't care about. It's too Law & Order. Too NCIS. Bummer. But I am really glad that Nathan finally found something that's working. Hopefully everyone will understand his awesomeness now.
I love Nathan Fillion. God knows I do. But I had to, had to, had to give up on Castle.
You know I am very disappointed in you. Very, haha. This show has matured! There is a serialization and a larger story that is keeping viewers and driving up ratings beyond the "Law and Order." The last two episodes were the best in the series. They offered a new, more engaging dramatic flare as well as a hook with the relationship stuff that binds. You should give it a revisit and see that it is not last season's Castle.
