Someone mentioned earlier that whomever Deyvn was talking to would easily have been justified in calling 911 to report a domestic disturbance based upon events heard of the phone followed by the abrupt disconnection. That was an excellent point that I didn't consider last night.
Really good point to whoever first brought that up. If I had been on the other end of the line and that I had happened, I would've immediately tried to call back. If there hadn't been a response I definitely would've called 911. To me the guys are coming off like bullies and Katelynn is pretty much the only one that's like "yo get your s**t straight" (which is why she is currently my fav) but she still has refrained from ripping them a new one on the several occassions that the guys have unnecessarily started yelling and acting aggressively. The four on one yelling at Sarah would've been hands down unacceptable to me. I have to be honest and say I didn't see much of Denver (sorry ColiesMom, though I enjoy Colie on the challenges!) but I have seen the some highlights on The Soup and I would've been fully on board with an epic Brooke freak out. Also I wanted to add that I believe JD's responses and instigations as of late have more to do with the fact that girls pulled his number and don't want to be apart of his creepy make shift family vs. any of the actual issues that have been used as foundations for the arguments.
There is a difference between those two? :)
From what I've seen of the two, one possibly needs therapy and one possibly needs medication and a pet.
Just curious, what corner would that be?
Listen. I've made my peace with her, that is all. I am not taking sides or getting into one corner or another. As for Paula. What is there to say that hasn't been said? :D
Totally agreed Zachary. And on that note, I have a question for the moderators of this board: When it comes to posting opinions about castmembers, what is and is not off limits? A lot of people on this board, including moderators and myself included, have posted pretty pointedly negative comments about various castmembers, most especially JD. However, it appears when castmembers become members of this board the rules regarding our comments about them change. If JD joined this board tomorrow, would we be expected to censor our views? Basically, is it a free for all when it comes to our opinions about a castmember until he/she becomes a member of the board?
I have to admit that I'm rather conflicted about this too. Although I've been here at Vevmo for awhile now and "get it", I do think its confusing to others and it does seem like anything goes, until a cast member joins the site. I know this isn't exactly the case - but I do sometimes feel like I have to censor myself because of these reasons...which leads to me not really saying much in TRW forum. And isn't that the antithesis of a forum? Again, I know this isn't the exactly case...but sometimes the line between what's allowed and what isn't is strictly too thin to see...(and I only feel this way when in The Real World forums of Vevmo as opposed to other sections of the site) I respect any cast member for going through the process and letting the world in, buuuut I still think we should be entitled to say whatever we want, to a degree, about what is presented to us on TV by BMP.

Yes, I read your post re: TOS and Kim coming to the site/changing attitudes, etc. Was that the one you're referring to? I mean...there's definitely a difference between personally attacking someone (a cast member), and reacting/responding to the episode. TOS should protect each member (including cast members) from personal attacks and the like. But sometimes, I feel, TOS is used to prevent people from saying things they feel - reactions to the episode. That, I think, is wrong. Like I would never disrespect any of them. Ever. I'm just saying that there seems to be many censors lately, and when it comes down to it...they signed up for a reality show and people who watch it, react to it! It's just what happens! All we can do is ask that people take editing / storyboarding / production techniques into consideration. We just can't tell people who to like and who not to, is all.
haha I didn't weigh in on my thoughts yet! It was so blatantly obvious that BMP were totally manipulating the girls side of the story. They did make it seem like "the guys flip out, the girls obey by cleaning up" and that was just lame. I think what Devyn said makes sense - they make some good points, but the way they go about getting their points across is ridiculous - i.e. - talking/screaming at 4am, throwing phones into the water, table breaking, etc haha And Ryan was extremely overtired/had a few beers in him...so shit is bound to get heated. I think its cool that the guys want a clean house (I'm so sick of "frat boy" Real World guys...so these ones are a great break from that!), but they seem to be borderline **** about the whole thing. It's also an interesting dynamic - the whole guys vs. girls thing. We've seen houses divided before (Boston, for instance), but I don't ever remember a battle of the sexes that wasn't a challenge!
There is a difference between those two? :)
I've always found Brooke's edits to be much funnier than Paula's. I dunno... I've always felt like I could be Brooke's BFF but want to strangle Paula. One of my all time favorite challenge moments was seeing Paula get a$$ed out of a boat on The Island. I was hysterical!

Thanks Katelynn for explaining how the gas was paid for and why it was an issue. The more I think about how I would have reacted to the situation of JD yanking the phone from Devyn (though the table smashing was too much as well), and the more I read comments talking about the situation, the more I am surprised that the roommates, Devyn is particular, seemed almost unfazed by JD's violent outbreak. Were any of you really concerned with that issue? Was it edited out? Did your relationships with JD, while you were in the house, restore to what they were pre-outbreak? Also, did JD apologize for that violent outbreak? I may have missed something near the end. Also, though I do commend JD for trying to get a house meeting going (in a rational way earlier on in the episode, not the later violent way) to discuss the issues everyone had, I think perhaps to the girls, he wasn't the best person to do it because three out of four of them have had problems with him and didn't seem to trust him or value what he had to say.
Shawn, I lived in NY for four years and can attest that filming in the NYC subway system is a nightmare. First, the noise level drives the sound person crazy and makes the editor's life a nightmare given the time it takes to correct for the background noise and voice distortions that result from applying audio filters during the editing process. It takes time to do the necessary editing and time is money. The specialized audio equipment used in movies is not used on production of TRW. It's a cost issue. It is also a logistics issue. Production normally has a vehicle loaded with gear if a crew is accompanying the cast. Perhaps more importantly, any camera in the subway attractions a lot of attention, and in my experience, none of that attention is good. It As for the cars... like with Subway, you have to keep your sponsors happy, too.
Ah well... That makes perfect sense. I'd probably get my own episode about the roommates always having to chauffeur me around. I'm not an agressive driver by any means and the city would eat me up. I absolutely love the subway except in summer. I was in NYC in August one time and I was out and about during rush hour in upper 80 degree heat! It is soooo hot down in the stations and when you get on the air conditioned train, you start sweating instantly along with the 100 other people in that same car! You can't even hold a support pole without your hand slipping up and down it.

In the new dailies. JD actually has the nerve to say he didn't regret anything. He actually called Baya a "scary cat," and then he went on to bash Devyn. Wow, what a MAN!!!
I haven't watched the dailies today yet because I'm typing and rewatching the episode on MTV, but I did go to the RW Dailies website and read the captions, and I read that he didn't regret it! I also read that Chet "gleefully" accounted what happened with JD and the title of the video is "More Outbursts Please." Wow. Oh, and I think someone in this thread said Baya forgot about herself when she only mentioned seven roommates, but she was excluding JD, since he was the one who wanted to call the meeting with them all. She was saying the seven of them, as in the seven of them that JD wanted to have a meeting with.
There is a difference between those two? :)
I may be in the minority but I somewhat like Paula - Brooke just gets on my last nerve with her constant whining and her bizarre facial expressions
Awww poor Sarah she's such a nice person no matter what the problem is or who's fault is it no one deserves to be treated that way(I am referring to the violence what J.D did breaking the table).I also have one more thing to say I am starting to develop a crush on Sarah lol I absolutely love her voice as well its so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee.lol P.s I hope I don't turn into Golden Warrior and his obsession for Katie. Lol
I do - RWB2NY - for quite a few episode it was Miz, Kevin, and Malik vs Coral, Nicole, and Lori
Agreed. I think of that season when people talk about boys vs. girls. However, on that season, they ended up letting their issues with each other go to a big extent around the halfway mark of the season. I don't think Nicole ever had as great a relationship with Malik after all the drama she had with him (which I think was basically her own problem and Malik didn't do wrong), but I don't think she let it get to her as much anymore. I also don't think Lori and Rachael had as much hostility towards the guys that these girls do, nor do I think Mike, Malik, and Kevin had as much hostility towards the girls. Coral - Mike said something that was racially offensive to her, and it bothered her a lot, understandably, so it made it harder for a relationship to develop between them. She loved Malik, though. I love Back to New York! I thought Baya was kind of funny the few times they showed her in this episode, especially in the confessional.
Wasn't something similar like that going on in Real World Sydney? The girls were upset with Parissa for hanging or siding with the guys often. That started some major petty arguments.
I didn't watch RW Sydney, but it sounds like the girls treated Parisa badly, so it couldn't truly be treated as a guys vs. girl situation. And if Parisa was hanging with the guys more, she wasn't on the girls' side.

I remember seeing pictures that they were at a restaurant when it happened.

^ Nope, they were quite mean, but not as "in your face" like Trisha or Dunbar.
I didn't watch RW Sydney, but it sounds like the girls treated Parisa badly, so it couldn't truly be treated as a guys vs. girl situation. And if Parisa was hanging with the guys more, she wasn't on the girls' side.
Yeah, but the girls were instigating a 'guys vs. girls' and because Parissa didn't sided with them it was like breaking 'girl code' to them or something lame to that extent. Although I do recall Dunbar yelling at Parrisa about trash or picking up after herself. (he yelled at her a lot and she seemed to put up with that more then the girls mean remarks)
I never saw the first episode of B2NY but what exactly did the Miz say? ON TOPIC: Current episode of Real World Brooklyn please. There are plenty of threads for past seasons.

(he yelled at her a lot and she seemed to put up with that more then the girls mean remarks)
I think that is because (correct me if I'm wrong) she had a crush on him at one point. She stopped taking it after a while though and stood up for herself.
I thought episode 8 was great from an entertainment value perspective, some of the subjects that create tension are childish and kind of go against the billing that this was going to be a more "serious" season, but nonetheless, it's more compelling than the drunken hookup drama of the past. I think that the division of the male/female cliques has made most of the cast unwilling, whether consciously or not, to see things from the other side's perspective in terms of their interactions w/ each other. It's easier to have the point of contention when they have a clique backing them up and seeing eye to eye with them, makes it easier for them to think they're right and the opposite gender is wrong. That's the way I see their interactions. I really like this cast overall, except JD who I'm generally indifferent toward, but I wish the dynamics of interaction were different.
Sorry about that, OPD. I got carried away.
