Obscurity? Heck, she has already done 20+ films. I doubt she will ever have to worry about a paycheck and if she decided to lose the role it would be better for her career in the long run. Best not to be type cast as a character from a lowly film... p.s. She is the type that would be happy with obscurity. I think she already regrets getting involved with Twilight and the paparazzi coverage that has resulted.
What I mean by obscurity is being away from the teeny bopper land...I am not knocking her at all (Catherine Hardwicke is who I knock for casting her buddies) I know she is a great actress, and I know that these movies are beneth her realm of interest which is why I don't understand why she did them. She had to have known from there very beggining that there was going to be a huge hullabaloo around the entire series and if she didn't then it's true what the tabliods say about her not being that bright.

I've watched countless interviews with her saying how she loved the books and Yada Yada Yada. She was all about this movie. Now all of the sudden she's above it. It seems stupid to me. Tons of excellent actors have started out in movies that werent Oscar worthy. Josh Brolin was in The Goonies. Sean Penn was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Do you think either of them would have turned down an invite? I can't speak for them, but I seriously doubt it. If she really said those things, she needs to get over herself. If she's such a seriousartist (snob), why did she even do the film? It's obviously too embarassing for her to be associated with it. I am an intelligent and mature woman who happens to enjoy a slightly shallow film. I am personally insulted by her actions.

She's a snob! She took the role. She should show a little grace and own it.
Here is what Robert Pattinson thinks:
“When I read it, I was convinced Stephenie was convinced that she was Bella, and it was like a book that wasn’t supposed to be published. It was like reading her sexual fantasy, especially when she said it was based on a dream and it was like, ‘Oh I’ve had this dream about this really sexy guy,’ and she just writes this book about it. Like some things about Edward are so specific, I was just convinced, like, ‘This woman is mad. She’s completely mad and she’s in love with her own fictional creation.’ And sometimes you would feel uncomfortable reading this thing. It’s kind of a sick pleasure in a lot of ways.”
And I agree with him! LOL. Why do you think we like it? It's a guilty pleasure. Forget Stephenie Meyer. I'd like to let him in on some of MY dreams. ;)
“You can go online and it’s very intangible. I mean, who knows how many of these girls there are? It’s probably just the same five girls going on every message board and gabbing on about it,” Stewart says.
Twilight fan group

I really don't think this book should be targeted at younger girls. I know a ton of women my age and older who love these books. All of them are educated women. My friend Susan is an emergency physician and she absolutely ate them up.

I know that. I'm just saying it shouldn't be that way. Should girls that young be reading about how badly Bella wants to have sex with Edward? IMO, no.
In the last book Bella and Edward make love. He's so rough that her entire body is bruised. Yet, she longs for more.
That's not tween/teen appropriate that all. That's exactly the kind of thing dirty old ladies like me want to read about. Ha.

I had a dream last night about Edward...I fell asleep listening to the book on my ipod. Hehe.
What happened to you leaving us be here on our little thread B?? I am kind of hurt that you continuously throw around insulting words simply because you are a man who doesn't like the series :P. We don't come to your baseball thread talking shit about your pass time do we?? I know you are the King of vevmo :D and all, but give us a break man. I guess we could always take our Twilight talk elsewhere but I like being here on vevmo where it is just a few of us who are educated and mature adults that discuss our love of Twilight.
I thought me being here was entertaining YOU! :D
I ran into someone at the mall. He told me to tell everyone he said hello.
You should tell him to chill out on the weed while he is at work. ;)
Fine...I guess I won't talk to you guys anymore. :(
You should tell him to chill out on the weed while he is at work. ;)
I thought he was keeping busy with the whole "actor" thing. Apparently he needed to pick up a side job at FYE. lol
I don't mind your comments B. The best way to unite people is to give them a common enemy- so maybe you've made us closer by defending our love of twilight! :)
Fine...I guess I won't talk to you guys anymore. :(
Awwww, It's okay B, I am just throwing your words back at you...I don't mind you being here :D (I would have replied earlier but I am actually doing work today...can you believe it?? LOL)
Nope. I'm done. If you guys don't want me to be a part of your fanatical retrograde adolescent cult, I'll just go on my way. ;)

We need to recruit someone new to read the books. It's so exciting to hear a newbie get into them...OPD...time to give in!
We need to recruit someone new to read the books. It's so exciting to hear a newbie get into them...OPD...time to give in!
I suffered through the first one. It was God awful. It read like a poor man's Judy Blume. The movie was even worse than the book, if that is possible.

It's so exciting to hear a newbie get into them...OPD...time to give in!
Unfortunately it's at the back of my list....I'm reading some other series right now that I want to finish and I'm in no hurry. If anyone's interested I'm working on the "Odd Thomas" series by Dean Koontz and the "Ender" stories by Orson Scott Card. :D
