Twilight
I just started reading the book that this movie is based on, and I am only 3 chapters in and I am already entranced by it. It is so intensely written when Bella and Edward are together imo. Has anyone else read it, or is anyone looking forward to the movie other than me? I would attach the trailer for it, but I am at work and can't find it :(
I've read all 3 books, and the partial manuscript for the fourth (which won't ever be released at this point). They are pretty good, though definately written for teenage girls (which I am not). The movie trailers are AMAZING!! MTV had a couple of them a while back.

But seriously this story has a lot of potential and I hope the movies do well and don't end up the book Eragon, which has TONS of potential (All 3 of them from the Inheritance series really), BUT I was told by friends not to watch the movie unless I wanted to be disappointed. Although I have seen a few of the trailers and it looks like it is going to be really, really good.
I finished the book last night...I could not put it down, I read it in less than 48 hours, and that is not accounting for the 18 hours of work and 12-15 hours of sleep...It took me a total of about 5-6 hours to finish the book. It was really good, I have already started reading New Moon which is the second book in the series.
I read all three in a long weekend, so I totally hear ya.
I read all three in a long weekend, so I totally hear ya.
You know there are 4 books published right?? It is the 5th one that is on hold because of the manuscript being leaked.
You know there are 4 books published right?? For some reason in my mind I kept thinking it was a trilogy. I can only blame my sudden memory loss on ... medication?!? The unfinished manuscript was really good but it ends pretty much in the middle of a sentence.
well, I am halfway through the second book, so hopefully I will finish it by tonight, finsh the second one by tomorrow night and the fourth on Sunday. I hope this sickness I feel coming on goes away before it gets any worse though.
There are three trailers on myspace... enjoy. Twilight - The Movie

Hi..I have read all four of them awhile ago. Haven't read the draft that was leaked for midnight sun though. I love it!!
I finished book 3 last night...I have not been able to get my hands on book 4, so I may just have to go buy it. I also read the transcript of book 5...it has a lot of potential and I really wish she would continue the series a bit farther.
My friend told me to read them, and 7 days later I had read all of them! So good...can't wait until the movie comes out. Well out of my teenage years, but when I was reading them, I was totally into them. I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking about them, turn on my light and start reading. My husband wanted to kill me...
I am already on the second section where it is told from Jacob's POV. I only wish she would write more...I already read the Midnight Sun manuscript, it was good, BUT I want to know more about Bella's vampire life and she could also write about Jacob and Renesmee since I am pretty sure they are going to have a relationship (I have not even read the birth yet, but I have scoured the internet for spoilers before I got it...that is how impatient I was, LOL.)
I am thinking about re-reading the fourth book...it was so good. That whole book kept me so entertained!! I would totally keep reading even though the big plot point (how they would end up together? would she become a vampire?) is over.
By the way, how do you all feel about the movie casting? I don't know about Esme, I don't really like her much....and since Grey's I feel like she always looks like someone who had plastic surgery to make her face look almost normal. Esme is supposed to be so beautiful...I don't see it.

The guy that plays Emmet is freaking adorable though. I just read some more of the 4th book...I am so addicted,
I wish there was a way to make it into a movie without the computer animation for Renesmee.
Jacob is also very easy on the eyes. That whole fourth book was a page turner for me. Thank goodness I finished before the semester started. My medical articles on the onset of alzheimer's disease is not nearly as riveting as Twilight.
Yeah, I want to hear how Jacob and Renesmee do, and how Bella adjusts to life as a vampire. And how Charlie adjusts, since he knows something is different. I think all of that, and possibly more with the Vultori. She left the ending so open, exposing them as not-so-great leaders. Maybe there could be a massive overthrow of their power and the Cullens can take their place!!!
It's all-consuming! You think the movie will live up to it, or do you think it will be a let down?
I hope it does...All the previews I have seen look very promising, that is for sure. I am not sure how I feel about Nikki Reed being Rosalie but we will see. I know I can't wait for it to come out...even though I will not go see it on exact the day it comes out because I don't want to fight the crowds.
Same here, my friend and I are having a Sunday afternoon date that weekend, lunch and a bottle of wine, then the movie! Because if I am tipsy, it's easier to handle the teens. At the book release for book four, we drank three bottles of wine then went to get our books- I found waiting in line with nine year olds very amusing at that point.
FYI to anyone who wants to see the movie- I checked Fandango for movie times, and all the theaters in my town are offering a deal through them. You have to try a service (like netflicks or blockbuster membership), but if any of it is something you want- you get a free ticket. My husband and I are wanting to start Netflicks again, so we'll probably do it through there.
SD- did you see the movie this weekend? Just went to see it today...curious how you liked it? (and anyone else who saw it- but I want to see what other people who read the books thinks...)
I saw the movie yesterday (I've read all the books). I thought it was really good, considering having to jam 300 pages into 2 hours. I wish that they would've shown more of Jacob/Bella's relationship and Edward/Bella (it seemed soooooo fast), oh and Bella and Alice's friendship. Robert Pattinson carried the movie- he was a great Edward imo. Kristin Stewart was an okay Bella, I just thought she'd be clumsier. Only part that I wasn't happy was that they changed the prom scene set up. I liked when he blindfolded her in the book... and it shows Alice's relationship with Bella. Changing that was just confusing to me. Overall really good, and a good set-up for movie 2 at the end!

I read the books as well, went to see the movie and LOVED IT! I'm a hardcore twilight addict.. I wish they would have shown more of their relationship, too. It just all seemed so rush. Robert Pattinson was awesome! He really does make you fall in love with him. Kristin was alright, she was kind of Bla. I think its kind of ironic Bella narrates the story, but its all about Edward. LOL. Nobody I know really raved about her performance. New Moon is confirmed (that is my least favorite book, way to much Jacob) I can't wait!
Maybe I should read the book(s) but the movie didnt exceed my expectation. The film made it seem like Bella and Edward "fell in love" in like two days. The girl who played the role of Bella wasnt so great either. The climax was very weak. It was played out so simple and there was no real struggle at all in that last fight scene.
The girl who played the role of Bella wasnt so great either.
I am not sure how she is in Twilight, but I have liked her in other films. I think she is going to be the next big star (ala Lindsay Lohan) - but sober and smarter, which will lead to big roles and plenty of fame in the near future.

What other acts has she been in? It was my first time seeing her.

I haven't watched the entire thing, but Gawker has clips that make her look cracked out and really dumb. But, that is the only time I have disliked her. My husband has never read the books, and I realized seeing it through his retelling that Edward and Bella did not seem so connected. When Bella freaks out at the end when Edward wants to send her away, it didn't feel so desperate to me as the book did. When I read the book I felt like I better understood how Edward and Bella can't exsist without each other. I also missed Bella and Alice's friendship. And how connected Edward is to his whole family. But overall, I enjoyed it. When Victoria was going down the stairs at the end...I was just praying a miracle would happen the New Moon would start playing. Guess I will just have to reread all the books instead...
