For the first time, MTV is bringing [B]eight[/B] strangers together to stop being polite and start being real. Is the format too tired to reach people 20 seasons after the first season of the show originally conceived as "Saint Mark's Place," or does the format remain relevant today? Does it still speak to us about growing up and connecting with people and the world around us or have we become too sophisticated or jaded?
Here is the tease:[INDENT][quote]An Iraq war veteran, a former beauty queen, a hip-hop dancing hippie, a punk rock Mormon, a dolphin trainer, a computer geek, an abs model and an advocate for victims of abuse all pursue their goals and dreams while debating issues facing today's society. As they live together, the roommates will discover other cultures and lifestyles, plus what kind of person they are and want to become. Rather than band together for a job or activity like in recent seasons of "The Real World," the roommates spend time exploring the city, pursuing career dreams and volunteering in the community, which is very reminiscent of the first season in New York.
