Ledger is giving Nicholson a running for his money with this performance. I still can't decide who was better. Hellboy 2 was great. Better than the first. The Dark Knight has officially taken over the best movie of the year, beating Wall-E.
Yeah this is a more updated version of the Joker and I'm eager to see him in action.
Ledger is giving Nicholson a running for his money with this performance. I still can't decide who was better. .
That's great! I remember being 9 or 10 when the one w/ Jack came out and it gave me nightmares about the Joker!
Yeah this is a more updated version of the Joker and I'm eager to see him in action.
Yeeah. After thinking for a while, Ledger was brilliant, but nothing compares to Nicholson's amazing psychotic take on the Joker. Nicholson has something to him that makes him shine in crazy roles. Eckhart is going to be great as the next.. well I can't give that away.
Yeah - Ledger's performance was everything you've read about and then some -
I was cracking up at the part with the nurse dress- it was so campy, but so... right.
For those of you who have seen the movie:
I'm anxious to see where they go with the 3rd movie in terms of villains! I like how they left The Joker's story open ended but obviously... and I was surprised that Harvey Dent died- I figured he'd be the main villain in the third. Loved The Scarecrow's cameo, but where are they going in the 3rd? I'd personally like to see Catwoman make an appearance, especially since we are now minus 1 love interest for Bruce Wayne...

Roomie, as for the villain, it definitely will not be the Scarecrow. He might be a minor villain, but I think since the ending happened the way they did they might bring back the Joker, or reignite and old villain such as Th Riddler, Penguin, and maybe Catwoman.
Also, Bale buffed up greatly for this role. He has always had a nice body, but this movie required some exercise.
im seeing this tonight and will read this thread in entirety tomorrow =)
Heath was my neighbor. I didn't yet know him when i saw Brokeback. This will be the first movie of his i'm seeing after seeing him around the neighborhood on his skateboard and with matilda. will definitely be strange.

Did you like in the same building, or just nearby? His daughter is so dang cute (and looks strikingly like Heath).
not in the same building. matilda stopped to pet my dog once and i talked a little to him, but just as a neighbor. 'your kid is cute,' kind of thing. my dog doesn't like little kids a whole lot, but in this case i was willing to make him suffer. I remember walking by him, michelle and matilda when matilda was in a stroller. a couple girls got all giddy and annoying. but neighbors just left them be. it was all so short-lived. they were often away, and then he moved back to manhattan.

Here's Johnny! Umm yeah I liked the Shinning it was one of the classic movies that he has done and he was really good as the Joker. But like I've said I love the way they have re-did the character to update so to speak. And I hate you all who've seen it already lol jk

so i have a question. did they give him a dedication? heath that is?
Saw it last night at midnight and loved it. I was actually suprised, its not my type of movie at all but it was great. Heath was AMAZING as the joker. This was by far his best acting job. I was a little disappointed that they didn't really give him a tribute. They had something very small at the very end of the credits but pretty much everyone was gone by that time.

LMFAO. Cheap bastards. I hate how people leave at the end of the movie. They never know if there's another scene still attached or listen to the ending musics. i always wait till it says copyright, whatever whatever.

I thought Heath did a great job playing the Joker and I was also disappointed that they didn't give him a bigger tribute either. I thought it'd be one of the first things to pop up as soon as the credits started rolling. Did you see the trailer for Terminator Salvation before the film? Now I have something else to look forward to!
i think maybe they wanted to be low-key and not exploit their friend. Afterall, it's not a movie about a dead movie star. put yourself in their shoes. they wanted to honor heath, but not overlook all of the good work everyone else put in.

wait wait wait, what is this about the preview for T4? Is that movie even finished filming yet?
According to IMDB.com it is still filming, but a teaser trailer was shown at my theater. You can watch it here: YouTube - Terminator Salvation (2009) - Teaser Trailer #1 [HD QUALITY]
Ooooo I'm going to go see this on Thursday!

Unless production or its PR company remembers to update imdb regularly, it won't happen. Sometimes it will take months before the staff there gets around to updating stuff you have already sent in.

Well, at least you didn't hate on them like some people around the web
Bacchus and others: Don't feel bad going to see this film. Look at it as celebrating the last piece of work by a solid actor. His performance really was mind-blowing-ly awesome! The entire movie was so good I'm just going to have to go see it tomorrow....again!
It was a pretty awesome movie...I enjoyed every minute... Heath deserves an Oscar
