what do they mean by extended version? is it gonna be good **** or re-hash, or bad ****?
The same shit with another 30 minutes of shit added in. ;)
OMG.
SHAUVON BLOWS.
What a fake fake fake fake FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE @#*@(*
And by Shauvon blows, you mean Shauvon BLOWS UP!! Ugh and she kept mugging the camera in the beginning and blowing kisses and stuff....I was like 'you are not that important, everyone remembers you as the girl who left early to be with her "boyfriend" '
I was surprised Coral threw the award in the pool. But at the same time she was just showing them that she wasn't having it I guess. It did seem odd that most of the recipients were like "uh, thanks"....but I'm sure most of the sane ones are ready to move on!
That's my humble opinion for now, but I only watched the first hour and then went sleepy....will watch again this weekend :D
Nope. Just a plane ticket, hotel accommodation's and lunch money.
I actually didn't even watch yet! I had Top Chef on and my DVR timer did not fire. I guess I'll wait for the extended version on Friday night.
the whole show is on mtv.com
did anyone see Brooke's confessional at mtv.com? she is truly one messed up individual. i'd prefer it if she just not explain her "bi-sexuality" . why would anyone have a girlfriend, knowing in the end she's gonna end up with a guy anyway? SELFISH!!
I'm kind of mad at Danny and Melinda got best love story. *gags* I thought Colin and Amaya were super cute!
btw the host guy sucks!!!
I liked Colin and Amaya also, back in the day, but they apparently stopped speaking after the show, and Danny and Melinda are getting married, so...
I've only been able to run through the show in fast motion so far and will watch it in full tomorrow (I hope). Did they show Randy from San Diego at ALL? I didn't see him once, but as I said, I went through in fast speed.
is Kevin P from the original season?
Yes, Kevin P. was our first "angry black man". He totally got stereotyped as that after the Kevin vs. Julie fight out on the street, which FUN FACT - production had to force them to fight inside because it was around the time of the rodkey king beating in Cali and production said a group of people were starting to crowd around julie and kevin.
i think i remember that right
i read it in the book "the real real world"
the first book EVERRRR
* Was it me or did the other Real Worlders look mad disinterested when the Hollywood crew were introduced. It was like a light applause going on there.
* Poor Isaac looked super cooked. I guess he forgot to pack sunscreen when he went to Mexico

Thanks for that. I wish they would air the older seasons for us anyway.
What really disappoints me about The Real World Awards is that they were geared more towards the show's 'current' fanbase (most of whom were infants when the show started), who know the show as being about a bunch of wild people drinking and hooking up a lot. They totally ignored the fans of yesteryear when the show was about more than trivial drama.
And another thing: When I heard that Austin won best season, I was so... let down. Really? I'd like to have all the people who voted for Austin watch Real World's Boston, San Francisco, New York 1, New Orleans, or Seattle and then tell me that Austin was better. (Because it was not.)
It's just sad to me that Mtv has virtually thrown away the rich history behind the show. (Side note: I just realized... I'm getting old.)

hhhaah
Roomie...i totally agree. HOWEVER, i LOVED their "Remembering Frankie and Pedro" sections. Those were very nice, and even gave me the chills at one point.
so sad

Aww Nick- I didn't watch the special, but hearing about that segment, I'll try and seek it out, if only to watch that little bit.

they did for like a split second, when they showed Brad for "Hottest Male", they zoomed to Kina and Randy cheering for Brad. Actually, Kina was shown way more than him and a lot of other Real Worlders, considering she's a Road Ruler.
The awards was kind of a trainwreck, but I still enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the clips that they showed.
How could Pedro and Sean not win "Best Love Story"...I remember watching their episode where they were going to exchange rings..It was so beautiful....
But of course Blockhead and Melinda win ...give me a freaking break
nvm i just saw it. why was pedro's half longer than frankie's? is it because he had AIDS?
My guess is that it was because Pedro was an AIDS activist and was essentially on the show to spread the message. By going into detail about his story and what he hoped to accomplish, they can keep doing his work even though he's gone, which I think is a beautiful thing. Frankie's passing was tragic, but she wasn't on the show to be a spokeswoman for cystic fibrosis.
Still, I see what you're saying--it was a bit jarring that they had a quick tribute to Frankie with no comments from any of her castmates and not even shots of them reacting to the tribute, and then a far longer tribute to Pedro who, while an amazing person, died more than ten years ago and has already been recognized at least once on a Real World reunion show. I would have liked to see a fuller, more thoughtful tribute to Frankie. I'm sure Jacquese, Robin, Randy, and even castmembers not in attendance would have taken time out of their schedules to sit down and talk about her for a tribute video. I mean, the Pedro video had me in tears even though he's been gone for so long, and Frankie just recently passed and her video wasn't long enough for me to muster up any emotion. Even though she wasn't an activist, she had an important message also, about living every day and tomorrow being a privilege. Sorry, this is long-winded, but I would have liked to see that handled better. At the very least, they could have shown the tributes at different times so that it wouldn't be so obvious that so much more time and thought went into Pedro's.
i also like to add that Pedro seems pretty cool. (does anybody here have his season recorded they could loan me?)
its hard to believe he was 22. some of the cast members don't look their age on their season. know what i mean? sort of like the 16-18 year olds whobe on american idol. i thought alexandrea from season 7 was clearly in her 20s but she was only 17. get what i mean.
and yes frankie should've had a tribute video.

A lot of cast members from the earlier seasons had a mature look to them, a more "real" look, if you will. And anything with Pedro still gets my teary eyed- that whole story is so sad, but it IS reality for far too many people these days.
I watched the Awards last night and wasn't impressed. I am an old school fan and I felt that the cast members that I wanted to see were underrepresented. You know, the ones that have not been on 50 challenges and in our faces for the last 5-10 years....
The actual awards were stupid. Puck not winning worst roommate ever? Come on. Syrus not being the biggest ****? Doubt it. Austin winning best season? As if!
Also it was ridiculous to have a guy that knows nothing about The Real World host the entire thing and I agree that the cast interactions (the reason I tuned in) were few and far between.
P.s. I was not sure that Stephen from Seattle could possibly grow into a bigger ****** bag over the years. I was wrong. I was actually pulling for CT to lay him out. Talk about irony.

There was definitely a pronounced recency effect. It was irksome. I agree with you about the above awards (though I won't protest Colie too much, because she was pretty special in that department) and, much as I love Robin, how could anyone but Brad win best brush with the law? I mean, the guy was drunkenly telling the police that his hairline was f'ed up as they put him in the car. Robin and Johanna's arrests were entertaining, but Brad's was on another level entirely.
I'm not sure I buy that it was a coincidence that no single-person awards (apart from Irene) went to someone who couldn't attend. Very fortunate, that.
I thought the format ended up being restrictive--I would have preferred a show more like the tenth season reunion, where people sat down and talk. In this kind of show, we only heard from people who won awards (who were usually people we've just seen on challenges or hear from a lot) and a few select cast members.
What was wrong with Kaia? Yeah Johanna was being ****** but I still liked for Kaia to have finished her sentence? She has a nasty attitude I don't like. Didn't she also try to break up Colin and Amaya?

I think she has always been nasty. I couldn't stand her on The Real World Hawaii. I suspect her only redeeming quality was walking around naked all the time and that grew old fast. Thank God these days she stays clothed. The years have not been kind. ;)
I watched it the other night, and obviously they could have made it MUCH better. And I agree that more cast interaction would have been nice. I thought the Stephen fight was hilarity. I also find it amusing he's going to call out Nathan for not aging well (which he hasn't). But at least Nathan wasn't hiding behind big ole stunna shades, a hat and a blazer? What are you trying to hide there Stephen?
Also, I was suprised that Mike 'the Miz' didn't get any airtime at ALL, did he? And it kind of stunk that people you NEVER hear from like season 2 Irene weren't interviewed at ALL~
