I APPLIED!!! and got past 0 rounds lol
I am a ROCK STAR.
I'll try it again though....only next time I'll leave myself more than 2 hours to meet the deadline and make it better and ill have more fun with it
I will start this one off, get it going more.
I uploaded a video online, got an email with the application a week or two later. I did the application, and got a call back three weeks later from the casting office. I got another call a week after, set up a recorded interview, which I did about another week later. The whole process has taken about a month and a half (almost two), and I was told that I will hear back within three weeks of my recorded interview (if at all).
It's been about a week now, and I'm anxious!
1. What's your first name?
2. Wear a Vevmo t-shirt or something totally stupid and inappropriate on the show.
3. I'll think of something even MORE lame, and post that later on.
Thanks =) haha
Congrats. The live interview is a good time. I believe I'm in the semi-finals again for this season, but not sure. I just got a phone call from a casting director. They said they are sending me something this week. Maybe a rejection letter? lol.
I also received a phone call today verifying my address and seeing if I would be at that address for the next couple of weeks. I don't believe that anyone is getting sent rejection letters or things of that nature, in fact quite the opposite. I think what they are doing is confirming the addresses for everyone that has made it to the semifinal round, which consist of one-on-one taped interviews in person with a casting director, so by confirming our addresses they can than settle on where several central Semi-Final Locations will be throughout the country. Example: Cameran from Real San Diego was from South Carolina, but went to the semi-final casting round in Florida ( Get Real Denver Catching up with Cameran) Davis was at school in Florida during his casting process and was invited to the semi-finals in Atlanta ( Interview with Davis Mallory from MTV's the Real World, Denver - Associated Content ). Christina from Road Rules from Michigan was invited to the semi-finals in Chicago (MTV's 'Real World' wants WMU student - News ). So according to my theory they're calling people who've advanced as far as we have to confirm where we reside and find a central semi-final location in a major city. So Liz in Maine will probably have hers in New York, while semi-finalist in the south will be invited to either Florida or Atlanta, I think it's safe to say that Chicago and Los Angeles or probably both sites for semi-finalist in the Midwest and the West Coast. This isn't for sure, just from what I gather from reading other interviews from people who've actually made it on the show, and while it is a theory, one thing I absolutely guarantee is that a call from the casting department is NEVER a bad thing. They won't call to even say they've cut you if you were a finalist, so rest assure, they won't be sending you a "Reject Letter", just worry about when they stop calling, cause that's a definite bad sign.
Yea I was just joking about the reject letter. It makes sense about verifying people's address and I'm sure that it will be in NYC, that's where the last one I went to was.
The only ballpark figure I could find on the number of semi-finalists was 70. This is way back in 2001 though ( BC Students Take on The Real World, Survivor - Features ). I would say at the most no more than 100.
Does anyone know about how many people usually make it to the semi-final round?
i'm pretty sure its <50 and it depends on the position in the cast they are looking at you to fill.

Let me take a guess:
You are the William Gilbert of season 21. Artsy. Musical. African American.
Am I warm?
=O WHAT GIFT?
Guessing future Real World cast members true identities.
Last time I had the entire cast before they wrapped up filming. This time I'll have the entire cast......before they are even cast! lol ;)

well thats about all you can do now, you've done everything else ;)
RWKnowItAll-
Did you just skip round 4 which is the phone/skype or phone/camera interview? A week ago you posted on another RW21 thread that you were assuming that you were currently in Round 3 and waiting to move on to Round 4, and now your theory is that you've gone right to the semi-final round?
And they just called you without any other details but 'could you please confirm your address'? What if you said you were going on vacation in the next few days, coming back home, then going away again for another few days. Do you think they would have told you some kind of approximate date?
Yawza! Sorry if that sounded so snarky! Your answer to all my questions can be a total 'yes, yes, yes' and maybe that's just how the RW casting cookie crumbles. but i was just curious because my roommate had a phone interview that she had to borrow my video camera for about a month ago and has been going on and on about this casting process. She said that she was supposed to hear sometime in March. I hope she gets a phone call today. I just want her to be on the RW so I can call and have an arrow with my name under it pointing to the phone.

Ya my roomie is totally a shoe in. Her total flaw is the fact that she and I are best friends like will & grace and so she can't find a boyfriend who will pretty much have to date both of us. Either she finds a guy that likes her but not me, or I find a guy that I think she would love but she hates him!

Why did you risk letting her apply! She could be shipped away for 4 months!
Well.....I guess it will all be worth it if she takes you to an Oscar after party or something exotic like that next spring when she is famous. ;)
Hi all--
Wish me luck, I have my live interview with the casting director on Saturday in NYC. It's awesome to go home again, but to be interviewing is crazy. I never thought I would get this far.

The best advice I have is to stop posting about it. For anybody. This could lead to disqualification.
