Big Brother 9 Discussion - Day 13
Not much excitement going last night, just more of the same. Allison campaigning (who isn't really campaigning) and trash talking Jen (but who never trash talks Jen). There was one instance of excitement right when BBAD started. Amanda and Josh (who had made up earlier in the day....Josh says he's just playing along) staged a fake fight. But just before BB called Amanda into the DR and was very insistent about it. I was wondering if they had a problem with a fake fight. It was soon apparent they were only concerned for their equipment. Amanda was talking to Chelsia and Josh starts yelling at her from across the yard (just before we saw Josh remove his mic) He's accusing her of make up more lies the yell back and forth (Amanda is having a hard time keeping a straight face) Josh edges to the pool....I think they may have had a short shoving match. James, fearing the Josh was going to lose control and actually hit Amanda ran to intervene. Josh saw and decided to hurry things along so before Amanda had a chance to push him he dove in. It really wasn't that funny, but it was some entertainment. Oh and at dinner, they decided to go around and say a personal good-bye to all four people on the block. Sheila of course got emotional and was crying and the mature boys James, Matt and Adam couldn't keep a straight face and laughed through the whole thing. she got mad at them and said "you know that is just f-ed up." They said they were sorry but they still couldn't stop laughing. The only other thing to report is that Jen/Ryan had sex. Whoopie. Not. I'm not even sure BB showed it. and I don't care. They did it on the floor in the boat room just in case you were wondering. Today they are doing Live Eviction day stuff...cleaning and primping and last minute scrambling to see if all their deals and votes are in place. I still don't know what the vote will be. It's this couple thing. I have no idea what is going on in Adams head. And I'm not sure if anyone at this point is willing to put their own neck on the line by not agreeing with their partner. However, I think Adam is with the other side of the house (the non A/A, P/J side), he James and Ryan are the only smokers so imagine it is only logical that they would scheme together. I think it will be 3-1 to evict P/J. With Josh/Sharon, James/Chelsia, and Adam/Sheila voting out Parker and Jen. I think Matt/Natalie will throw a vote to parker/Jen just to save face, but if it looked to be a tie they'd vote them out. And in the even of a tie, I'm not sure what will happen...I don't think Amanda would get behind her partner and agree to vote out her shomance. So it's going to come down to how well are Sheila and Adam are working as a team. And if he is indeed on the same side of the house as her.
Evel **** was on House calls today. First time watching it this season. He is on again tomorrow. I find HC more entertaining then the actual show! Now that is sad...
Sorry to just jump right in here.....but I have been visiting this site for weeks now and I love it!!! Just registered today, and was wondering if I could get a quick rundown on all the abbreviations used for Big brother in your threads. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Amber
Welcome Amber, Here are some of the most common abbreviations. HG - House guest(s) DR - Diary Room BY - Back Yard HT - Hot Tub POV - Power of Veto HoH - Head of Household PC - Power Couple LD - Lock down ILD - Indoor Lock down OLD- Outdoor lock down WR - wash room or weight room (they don't have one this year though) BR - bath room or boat room Soul mate abbreviations (and may be reversed at times): P/J - Parker and Jen A/A - Alex and Amanda M/N - Matt and Natalie J/S - Josh and Sharon J/C - James and Chelsia R/A - Ryan and Allison A/S - Adam and Sheila If I missed any, feel free to ask.
A quick recap before I go to bed. It was a 3-1 vote to evict Parker and Jen, with Matt and Natalie voting to keep them. James and Chelsia won HoH in a competition where they had to guess the majority and give up stuff. They are 72 hours without hot water (in favor of hot food) Women were bikinis for the next 24 hours instead of women wearing their soul mates favorite outfit The women have to cook dinner for their man for one week instead of men serving breakfast in bed Two weeks without a washer (in favor of exercise equipment...now that is just messed up) No cups for one week (in favor of eating utensils...yeah I'd go that way too) Margarita Party instead of a out door grill The unveiling of the HoH room was early (in a normal season they make us wait until 11:30-12am EST) and Chelsia and James dove in to their liquor...didn't share and got sloshed. Sheila and Adam had a major yelling match. Apparently Adam let it out that they voted out P/J before the live show...and in the DR he made Sheila cast the vote so he could say "Hey I didn't go against you, it's all on her". As usual Sheila took it over the top. (That chick is crazy) James and Chelsia retire shortly after dinner and have a quick make out session, but before things go too far..Chels puts on the breaks. Guess she's not that freaky that'll she'll do it in primetime. She's too worried about watching the spy screen and wondering who is plotting. James is miffed that she can't take a little rest from the game and eventually leaves her alone and goes straight down to the BY to kiss and tell with Ryan and Adam. And that's where we are at right now on the feeds. I'm going to bed...I'm going to be beat tomorrow.

That was awsome V1man, Anybody know what the ratings were this week or when they will come out?
That was awsome V1man, Anybody know what the ratings were this week or when they will come out?
They are not out yet for last night (usually around noon) but the ratings thus far are morbid. Even the 7+ million on Sunday (in the Idol free zone) ended up 4th in the time slot with the other three nights begging for cancellation. Big Brother: ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Tuesday Premiere: 7.33 million viewers: (#3) Wednesday: 5.81 million viewers (#3) Sunday: 7.16 million (#4) Tuesday: 5.42 million viewers (#3) There is no way that this show can compete with American Idol and being that the demographic that tunes in is relatively similar (both cheesy reality shows) they had to know it was going to go down this way. I have no idea what CBS was thinking. Once Idol clears out of the 9PM slot on Tuesday (and 8PM on Wednesday) the numbers might improve, but being the damage has already been done, they will not improve much. Actually they just might hold the ship level as they pick up a few accident gawkers while hemorrhaging their core audience. The live evictions tend to do better, so we will see today if this show is worth keeping around from a financial point of view. If it drops below 5 million we will not being seeing the way it ends on CBS.
Here is what I'm thinking CBS was thinking when they decided to do this winter edition. #1 - Make it couples so we get rid of two at a time #2 - wait and see how the ratings are #3 - if they suck, we continue eliminating 2 people each week and we're done just in time for post strike programming #4 - if they don't suck, we go for three months and 'divorce' the couples at the half way point. Based on Julie's choice of words last night to Ryan "in what could be three months" when referring to how long he and Jen would be apart...I believe it hasn't been decided yet if it will be a short season or a normal one.
Julie might be hoping for the best, but one number tells the story: A repeat of CBS’ The Unit - 7.91 million (two weeks before BB9.) If a repeat of a show not slated for renewal can pull two and a half million additional viewers (45% more) in the same Tuesday slot, Big Brother is not long for this world!
The numbers are in and once again disappointing:
CBS’ winter edition of Big Brother remains a bust, with a fourth-place finish in both total viewers (5.24 million) and adults 18-49 (1.9/ 5) from 8-9 p.m.
[ via PiFeedback ]
