Immunity is an interesting idea, but as all, it has serious dangers of going wrong, for example a guy going in against his will, surviving, coming back and then throwing the next challenge because he is immune.. I mean it would make for good TV, don’t know how fair it would be..

I liked the method of selecting who was going into The Ruins (the teams put up 3 candidates but only the winning team decided who was going in).. I also liked the method in the Gauntlet (if I remember well), where each team selected someone from the other team to protect from the elimination round, but couldn’t select the same person twice..
By the way, I don’t know if they decide to keep the 3 team structure.. But I love it, especially since I always found anticlimactic to win a challenge and still having to send someone to the elimination round.. Here if you win the challenge, you get the added bonus of not going into the elimination round..
Plus it opens up interesting future scenarios.. The often mentioned Real World vs. Road Rules vs. Fresh Meat.. Or Rookies vs. Sophomores/Juniors vs. Seniors/Veterans.. Etc.. =)
But you gotta remember hardly anybody plays fair on these challenges. Someone is going to get screwed regardless. So i'm all for the Immunity thing.
And I also like the 3 teams thing because like you said there's so much you can do with it.
No matter what they try to do there will always be a pre existing alliance. The only way I can fathom they change things up, is if the teams are pre determined and no one knows who's going. Also if a person goes into an elimination round and win he or she will be exempt for atleast the next 2 rounds.
For example, they voted in Katie against Shavoun, since Katie came back (even though Shavoun quit) she would be exempt for the next 2 elimination rounds, leaving Theresa, Emily and Jenn all up for nomination. That would be awesome. That would really break up alliances.
That format would re-introduce the opportunity for cross-team alliances. People would make deals to ensure they would face the weakest opposition from the opposite team, and reciprocate by forcing the weakest people on their own team to face their alliance-mates on the opposing team.

That's a problem, when people don't eat, or not eat properly just to be in the fashion world.
It's really a shame. He could be competing in the same level of the best. Like that it's impossible to.
If that's true, of course.

Exactly. Like I said before friendships play a role in these challenges. Everyone knows that so I don't understand why they keep acting like it doesn't.

The method of selecting captains and the three teams with a secret vote were both designed to attack the problem of known pre-show alliances. It really is the first acknowledgment by BMP that they recognized a problem the sites following the challenges have been complaining about for several years. I have to applaud BMP for making the effort.
(Mark this day on your calendar, the day I gave BMP a compliment)

November 8, 2010 will be remember for the rest of my life.
But yeah, it's too bad that the Red Team kind of messed up BMP's plan I hope they lose it all.

Here is hoping they keep this method for on-going challenges.
Dunbar needs to be sent in. Why is Brandon sacrificed and Chet and Dunbar are saved time and time again?
It's hard for me to tell if Ty's body shut down or he just did a show for the cameras and this challenge didn't really matter to him. Because I think it really could be that. He just wants to put on a show for TV, winning or losing he could care less. Even he said himself he starts drama on purpose.
I'm pretty sure his body shut down. According to Derrick and Johnny in the Podcast, Ty wasn't eating right at all. He wanted to be an underwear model so he only ate one slice of toast and a banana everyday. It's hilarious that he thought that he could compete on the same level as all the other guys with such a poor diet.
If he wants even a glimmer of hope in his next challenge he should leave the manorexia at home.

It's simple, Ty leaves for whatever reason, Johnny's the guy going in the next time blue loses.
Re: The Challenge: Cut Throat - Episode 5 Discussion
OK, so it does look like Ty started the mess. The clip in the dailies made it look more like Brandon (and to a smaller extent, Luke) were criticizing his performance just to mess with him, when it looks like Ty hadn't done anything.
Over the last few days, I have really come to appreciate Dan. He seems like a good guy, and I wish him the best (especially with staying sober). Just seems different than a lot of others on the show.
Re: The Challenge: Cut Throat - Episode 5 Discussion
I was wondering how this post came about, but after seeing production allowing him to talk to his mom, it makes much more sense :D

Re: The Challenge: Cut Throat - Episode 5 Discussion
Julie wanting to wrestle Coral > Ty wanting to wrestle Brandon
I can only imagine how Dan makes it through everyday, good for him though. Takes a lot to A. admit you need help, B. actually do something about it, and C. enter an environment that is completely against you getting help.

Re: The Challenge: Cut Throat - Episode 5 Discussion
Ty just enjoys shocking people and ******* them off. I think it's all an act. I recall his castmates from his season saying that it's all a front, but that he's actually a good guy, he just tries to come off like a weird jerk for some reason.
And I agree with everyone's theory on Johnny's intentions. He knows if Ty were gone, he'd be going in.

That makes 0 sense. Not your post, the fact that Ty would purposely act like that.

It didn't make sense then and it doesn't now. He's one of those people who enjoys ******* people off. He even admitted he only made that comment to that girl about her weight because he knew it would start something.

It's kind of reminding me of Karamo (who I do like and think is ultimately a decent guy), but on a far worse scale.

Whiile I'd sy that their opinions have changed by now, I've actually known people who acted like complete *******s to people just to get the "bad ***" appearance.

Well, I noticed from the few DC episodes I watched (which were the first few basically), Ty would be OK at some points, and really ridiculous at others. I do think he purposefully tries to make people upset. It's grating. I think there is a good guy inside of him, but it seems he tries to push people away or something. That, and it seems he enjoys messing with people. People have a right to be annoyed with him when he acts like that. Oh yeah, he seems to have anger problems as well.
