The Walking Dead

Anyone? I read all 12 of the Graphic Novels, and I must say - the show is doing an excellent job at bringing the story to screen.

I LOVE it so far. I'm a sucker for all things zombie. I haven't read the graphic novels yet and will probably wait until this season is over. I know some basics of what happened in them though. Some people have been giving it slack saying that it's just copying all the zombie stuff that has come before it but I think that is just a weak dig. It's well made and fun why can't we just be happy that we have an awesome zombie tv show? It is based off of a graphic novel after all so it's not like they set out to reinvent the genre, more to pay homage to it and I think they are doing a great job of that. This last episode felt a little more typical but I think it was necessary to move forward, introduce some new characters and get your fill of gore. When Rick finally gets to the camp next week I'm sure we'll get back to the great character stories which is what makes this series a step above a normal zombie gore flick.
I like it too. Zombies FTW !!

It really is more of a character-driven story. And trust me - some ****ed up **** happens later down the road! I can't wait to see it all play out on the screen. It's an extremely well-written story, and so far, the show has been shot really well too! Season 2 is already confirmed too ;)
Watched the first two episodes last night and was VERY happy with what I saw. It totally lived up to all the hype!
I've never heard of the graphic novels beforehand, but I think a zombie series was a great idea. I love the show so far. I like that it can delve deeper into characters & details than a movie can. Oh yeah, it doesn't hurt that I think "Rick" is really hot.
It's a great show. It already got picked up for season 2. I just fear it will get too repetitive. I love all the blood and guts. I didn't know they could be so graphic on AMC. But I am happy it lived up to its hype.
I worked as an extra on this project a few times this summer. It was awesome! I'm glad the show has gotten nice reviews. It has already been picked up for a second season.

Glad to hear about season 2! This show is pretty awesome, well-done and interesting, keeps me on the edge of my seat. My BF is into anything zombies and I've kind of gotten into them too lol. Also I had no idea they were graphic novels so now I have a great idea for a Christmas gift! :D

There are 12 novels total so far. Kirkman said he was really interested in what happened after a zombie attack - the stories we've seen in the past has a group of survivors..but they never continued that long. Kirkman's story is in it for the long haul. The books are REALLY good, so I def suggest picking them up!

I was already a fan of the series, but when they cast Andrew Lincoln as Rick and Laurie Holden as Andrea I was completely psyched. So far they and the show have not disappointed. How kick *** is Glen? And how kick *** is the fact that Michael Rooker has popped up in a role that is tailor made for his whacked self? No one does trashy and crazy like Rooker. I'm glad the show is still keeping the emphasis on the zombies being the backstory instead of driving the series. The heart of the series is the characterization, these survivors are the true walking dead.
Also I had no idea they were graphic novels so now I have a great idea for a Christmas gift!
My roommate at the time started collecting them in 2005. He got me to read the first issue one Saturday morning (because I'm a zombie movie fan and collect other graphic novels) and ended up spending the whole weekend catching up, having an actual life be ******! I've collected them ever since. My boyfriend makes fun of me whenever I get a new book delivered because I act like a little kid at Christmas and immediately take over his man chair to devour it. Amazon offers them at great prices, both new and used.
I worked as an extra on this project a few times this summer. It was awesome! I'm glad the show has gotten nice reviews. They can add it to their hit list along with Mad Men and Breaking Bad. If the critical acclaim and high ratings keep up, I can see nods for show, actor for Lincoln, and possibly supporting or guest for Rooker and Lennie James, depending if they appear again.
Very overrated show. Bad dialogue, I was very disappointed with it. :( I'll still give it a chance
Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm disappointed in the casting of Holden as Andrea. She's almost 38 (and looks it) and playing a character who is supposed to be in her mid-20s. I guess if Glee can cast mid/late 20s as high school kids, it could work though.
Very overrated show. The real magic of this series kicks off when all parties meet up and are forced to put up with one another.

I'm not done with the show, I just find it disappointing, but it's only been 2 episodes.

I really enjoyed the first season, I'm glad season 2 will be on this weekend. Thanks for posting this or I wouldn't have known!! :)
They need to just start season 3 already because I am seriously going to go crazy. I watched the first two seasons straight through WAY too fast. Ugh. This wait is awful. Now I know what all you LOST fans went through when that was airing (I luckily didn't get into that show until it was done...so I had all the DVDs right at my fingertips). This waiting **** is hell.
What an awesome show. I will definitely be re-watching both seasons. Season 2 had some AMAZING scenes B.
I have been really enjoying the marathon. However, one scene in one episode stands out. The end of Nebraska. That was vintage Clint Eastwood. I absolutely loved it.
I'm glad everybody is liking this show. Just DONT read the comic book spoilers, it will seriously ruin it for you.

I LOVE this show! I can't wait for season 3. You guys are lucky to catch the marathon, and I'm also happy you guys are enjoying it. I hate waiting every week, especially when the episodes end with a cliffhanger. I love this show, because I can't predict what's going to happen. Happy more people are watching it, and catching up.

I just hope Michonne's character translates well from comic to screen.
I just hope Michonne's character translates well from comic to screen.
Honestly, I don't want to know anything about the comic books. The show is amazing and thus we should definitely have a season 3 thread which is comic free as well as a thread for those that want to get into all the good stuff. I don't want to be spoiled as this is a show where anything can happen! Great move by AMC to run the entire series this past weekend. I am a fan for life and will be counting down the days to the October premiere.
I agree with the Comic-spoiler free thread for this show. I LOVE IT - but don't read the comics.
As long as Daryl has more screen time and doesn't die.
Looks pretty ******. Noticed a few characters who tend to be a waste of space and a burden in terms of protecting themselves stepping it up a bit in that trailer. OCTOBER 14TH GET HERE ASAP.
OMW at CAROL doing something <3
