So You Think You Can Dance: Season 7
Molds, tatertots, did you see this yet about season 7: All-Stars Dance Pool The All-Stars Dance Pool features some of the best and most popular dancers that have been featured on previous seasons. They will act as partners for the top ten contestants this season, and will rotate every week. Each of the dancers represents one specific style of dance and will only dance in that genre with a partner. They will not choreograph any routines but will learn like the contestants do. Nigel Lythgoe will be announcing a new "All-Star" each day on his official Twitter account and these are the finalists. Interesting... So they will only have a Top 10 net season and the other 10 will be made up of past dancers? Sounds fun! Hopefully they pick some of my favorite dancers. ;)
From Nigel's twitter these are the 10 All-stars: Sounds like a pretty good group to me!
Courtney Galiano? EDIT: I guess so. Courtney Galiano (season 4) Lauren Gottlieb (season 3) Comfort Fedoke (season 4) Anya Garnis (season 3) Kathryn McCormick (season 5) Allison Holker (season 2) Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval (season 3) Ade Obayomi (season 5) Neil Haskell (season 3) Pasha Kovalev (season 3) Mark Kanemura (season 4) Stephen "Twitch" Boss (season 4)

Ha Ha Yes !! I hope D Trix is as hilarious as he was on season 3.
Im so glad Twitch (Stomp the Yard 2 and Step UP 3D) is coming back. Same with Mark. I don't remember Courtney all that well but season 4 was one of my favorite seasons. I feel like I'm watching a challenge. P.S. I know I shouldn't have but I had to **** out Twitch's projects. Haha.

A lot of them have been making big names for themselves...Kherington, Comfort, Katee, and now Courtney have all been on Glee, Twitch has been in a few movies, Mark has been touring with Lady Gaga I believe, and Chelsie has been on DWTS. I definitely think they're one of the most successful seasons. I'm excited to see Courtney and Twitch back! Comfort and Mark not so much, but I still like them.
Season 3 was the first one I watched so it's always been one of my favorites. I'm really excited to see Pasha and Neil again along with all the people you guys have mentioned!

And I also think it'll be interesting to see D-Trix partnered with someone. My only question is...what do they do when they start eliminating people?

As for Comfort, I'm on her myspace and I thought she was out of the country touring. Good to see her back but I wish they would've had at least one winner back. Like Sabra from season 3. I think if they eliminate them they will eliminate either both parties or one and switch them up.
Season 3 was the first one I watched so it's always been one of my favorites. I'm not gonna lie I absolutely hated it when it first started, watched one episode of season 1 and wrote the series off. That is until season 3 mtv marathon. I wish they still did these.
Yeah, I would have had no idea that they were on, and I can't remember where I saw it (maybe just searching through Hulu) but they did a little special with them. They're in the "Hairography" episode if that helps at all. You can see Comfort and Katee for a split second, and Kherington has long hair. The girl who plays Brittany in Glee was one of the last to get cut in season 2. Courtney said something on her Twitter about filming as part of Vocal Adrenaline, so she should be on an upcoming episode.
Yeah I heard alot that Vocal Adrenaline was going to be made up of popular stars (well maybe to teenagers). Thats cool though. When you said last to get cut from season 2, you mean people from SYTYCD, right? Do you remember her name?
Yeah I heard alot that Vocal Adrenaline was going to be made up of popular stars (well maybe to teenagers). Thats cool though.
My only question is...what do they do when they start eliminating people?
I could be totally off base but I would think that the All-Stars are there the whole time. Since they switch partners and only dance in their respective styles I would assume they need to keep people around so they could continue to perform all the styles. Maybe more like DWTS where they only judge the newbie and the All-Stars are just there to support and be the "professional" for the week depending on the dance styles. There seems to be one guy and one girl in each style in the All-Star list that way the will always have a professional available to dance the styles pulled from the hat each week.
Yeah the professionals never lose, they are just part of the pool that the dancer selects from. Thus, if you get hip hop you get Twitch/Dom. When the judging is done the all star will leave the stage. I don't particularly love the selections, especially since Nigel said every season would be represented. Apparently season 3 and season 4 have the most selections because the producers called the people they remained close with because they made the calls pretty late. Nigel has already announced season 8 will also feature all stars. Kind of surprised to see Mark, because It means he has to leave the Lady Gaga tour for awhile. My only other complaint is it takes away from the dancers whose season this is. We won't see any partnerships grow or any unlikely dancers in the top 20 become stars. Most of the past winners likely would not have even been part of a top 10 if it was done like this in past seasons. Also the judges always decide who goes home from the bottom three. Thus, the audience will only pick the winner. Oh yeah Mia Michaels (sp) is back and Mary Murphy is no longer a permanent judge. Just to let you know the top 24 has already been spoiled, they just now need to break it down 10.

I'm not sure what I think about all the format changes. I mean, why fix what (I believe) isn't broken? I'll have to see how it plays out before I throw out too much of an opinion, but I'm leery... EDIT: Though I do like some of the "vets" they've chosen: Ade, Twitch, Comfort, Allison.
. Nigel has already announced season 8 will also feature all stars.
Running out of ideas, eh Nigel? Hopefully season 1 is represented
I'm very happy with some of the all-star choices! I love Pasha, Anya, Allison and Dominic! Some of the choices I don't care for so much...
Why change what isn't broken? They are taking my favorite show an ruining it. And I'm really upset. Chelsie Hightower was supposed to be on the show instead of Comfort, but was eliminated from DWTS one week too late. Oh well, maybe the change willl be good.
What do you mean by one week too late? If she had been eliminated from DWTS earlier she would have been part of the All-Star cast.

Spoilers for tonight's episode:
Billy & Lauren – Broadway – Tyce Diorio Alex & Allison – Jazz – Sonya Tayeh Ashley & Neil – Contemporary – Tyce Diorio Adéchiké & Kathryn – Contemporary/Jazz – Travis Wall Cristina & Mark – Jazz – Sonya Tayeh Lauren & Ade – Contemporary – Mandy Moore Robert & Courtney – African Jazz? – Sean Cheesman Jose & Comfort – Hip Hop – NappyTabs Kent & Anya – Ballroom – Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin Alexie & Twitch – Hip Hop – NappyTabs Melinda & Pasha – Ballroom – Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin
I think the judges might get rid of Adechike the first chance they get. If he doesn't get votes, I think he's going home. Any guy who is in the bottom three will be in danger because I'm sure the judges will want to keep it as even as possible this early on. Who will the male All Stars dance with?
So they have two dudes with the same name? Adechike and Ade seem similiar but i guess thats just me.
So they have two dudes with the same name? Adechike and Ade seem similiar but i guess thats just me.
Well Ade is already known and not up for the vote since he is an all-star this season so there really is not much chance to get them too confused. There are also two Lauren's, one all-star and one contestant. Plus, it's not like they haven't had dancers with multiple names before like the Courtney's.
Incomplete spoilers for this week:
Billy & Comfort – Krump – Lil’ C Alex & Lauren – Broadway – Tyce Diorio Ashley & Mark – Jazz – Travis Wall Kent & Courtney – Jazz – Tyce Diorio Adechike & Allison – Contemporary – Stacey Tookey?
I thought the whole reason Mary Murphy wasn't judging this season was because she wanted to choreograph? She hasn't even been in the audience from what I've seen. I miss her hot tamale train. :(
It has been strange without Mary, but I like Mia's comments better. I liked the old format of having a different guest judge every week, though.
It has been strange without Mary, but I like Mia's comments better. For some reason, I thought that Mary focused a lot more on the emotional aspect, and I think Mia really tries to help more on the technical level to make them better dancers. Plus it REALLY helps to not have WHOO WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO and the hot tamale train blowing out the speakers on my TV.

I would never really want any dancer to do too well to avoid that very problem!!!!
